  1. What is a TE/WR hybrid? He can't block so he's no use to us as a TE. He's a 6' 5" receiver that would literally only be useful in jump ball situations because he's not running away from anybody. Not worth the price tag or even the roster spot IMO. If the fish are letting him walk, that should tell you what kind of value they see there.
  2. Bit of a disappointment? He was arguably the biggest disappointment on the entire team this year performance-wise unless you give those honors to Saffold.
  3. I don't think it was just Bills fans that were too high on him. I think the entire organization had high hopes for him heading into this past season that he had grown into the roll and they all convinced themselves that he would. It was wishful thinking.
  4. Right, but we don't need a low end WR2. We need a legit WR2 who can take some attention off of Diggs. Opponents just don't respect Davis, doesn't get open enough, and when he does, he's not reliable. When our QB asked for Beasley to be brought back and they bring both him and Smoke back late season, that's a huge problem IMO.
  5. Maybe he will, maybe he won't, but you can't risk another entire season hoping someone performs up to expectations. WR2 must be addressed in the draft or via FA...the draft being the preferred method.
  6. Pointing to Higgins numbers doesn't explain why Boyd's numbers are on par with Davis though. Davis is clearly underperforming in an offense that passes as much as we do as the WR2.
  7. Look at Cincy's trio. Gabe's numbers are more on par with Boyd (WR3) than Higgins (WR2) and there's no way that should be the case in an offense that passes as much as the Bills.
  8. So how do you propose to improve the line? Against Cincy, we were without our best interior lineman and our best pass rusher. Anyone can get hurt and you have no way of knowing when or where it happens. Von made everyone else on that line better. Basically you're just using hindsight to say Beane screwed up the draft. That is neither helpful nor productive. All that can be done is sign some cheap FAs or draft D-Line later in the draft and even then, there's no guarantee that the D-Line is any better. The focus needs to be on the offense anyway. Mahomes was facing one of the best D-Lines in football in the SB and it made little difference.
  9. Actually, I'm relieved to hear this. Makes me less worried that the Bills would overpay to keep him.
  10. You were trying to make some kind of point about Von, who we didn't have at the end of the season, but go ahead and try convincing yourself that our pass rush wasn't dramatically better with Von on the field.
  11. Worked out great. If you're trying to claim our pass rush wasn't good when Von was in there, you would be mistaken. We lose the KC game without him.
  12. He also said there wouldn't be any big free agents signed last year and then signed Von.
  13. Chiefs are out of Mahomes rookie deal and they are sitting very good with the cap. Beane can restructure Josh's contract and save $21M against the cap this year, which takes them from almost $20M over to $1.5M under. If Beane restructures DIggs, Tre, Milano, and Dawkins they are $20M under the cap. The point is, Beane has options if he wants to exercise them and those guys are willing.
  14. Guessing they're too smart for that especially with the amount of draft picks they have.
  15. He's 30 coming off second ACL tear. He's going to want a multi-year probably with lots of guaranteed. No thanks to that.
  16. I don't think Torrence falls to the 2nd round. He's considered the best Guard in the draft and could start day 1. Also can't see Tillman falling to the 4th. I would think Robinson has a higher likelihood of still being available in the 4th vs Tillman. Unless I'm crazy, I also don't see a chance in Hades Patterson falls to the 5th. I am definitely open to the idea of trading out of the first to get us some additional picks though if there's not really any first round talent left at 27 in needs we have. I don't want to see any reaches.
  17. I think his asking price is going to be waaaay to high for us. Just don't see it. And even if we could swing it, I don't know if it's wise thing to do. This guy is 30 with now 2 ACL injuries and has become, IMO, fragile. I see people already claiming Diggs is going to be on the decline since he's coming up on 30 and he's perfectly healthy. If we were going to target a FA, I'd much rather see us try to get a Jakobi Meyers vs an aging, now unproven OBJ coming off ACL tear #2. Plus, I don't like his attitude, which is another issue all together. We don't need any toxicity in the locker room from an egomaniac.
  18. Wouldn't you rather draft a long-term solution than pay another hired mercenary a boatload of money that prevents us from filling other needs? And we have no idea what he even looks like. Hasn't played a full season since 2019 and that was 15 games. Coming off another ACL injury and we already saw how that impacted Tre. Not to say Tre won't be back to his old self with a full offseason and camp, but you never know what you're going to get with DB and WRs in particular with that type of injury.
  19. Is he really still a top receiver though? Aren't we just basing that off of play we saw years ago? He hasn't played a full season since 2019 and that was 15 games. Not saying Tre is never going to return to his prior form, but we saw what he looked like when he came back and he was clearly not the same. Receivers and DBs may be impacted more than any other position by ACL injuries because of the nature of what they do. This wasn't OBJs first ACL injury either.
  20. I'd like it for sure, but I know it's not going to happen and I accept we have Dorsey back for at least next season. I'm simply wondering if people think Dorsey will show marked improvement over last season and grown as an OC, or does he already have his habits and have a hard time changing anything. In cases like this, I often feel changes become difficult without having the perspective of someone brought in from the outside to look in. If you're already on the inside and trying to critique yourself, sometimes you are blind to things that someone else would point out immediately. Besides some fresh ideas, I hope he has some different sets of eyes looking at the offense to show him what he might be missing or just never thought of before to begin with.
  21. I agree, they could stop referring to any one team and just do what basically all the elite teams in the league today have in common. Shouldn't take calling out any specific team to do that. They may just choose to do it because the Chiefs in particular are the ones always standing in our way and according to Beane, Cincy is now as well and that's true.
  22. You're right, we shouldn't always be chasing the Chiefs and doing exactly what they do, but again, I don't really think that's what Josh was saying. I think he was more so using them as an example of how you build a championship caliber team and based on what Josh was saying, you could easily substitute the Eagles in there...another good example of a team that's strong in the areas you absolutely must be in order to be successful in this league.
  23. Yeah, there's no way he survives next offseason if Beane juices the offense this offseason and Dorsey lays an egg with it.
  24. Hard to say really. I got the feeling Josh lost faith in McKenzie and that's why he asked to bring Beasley back by name (from what I understand). But even after Beas came back, you didn't see much use of him. Almost nothing from the slot and no attempts to incorporate the RBs into the passing game. So unless you want to say it was Josh just being off and not taking the short to mid stuff, which could be part of it, the other part has to be the play calling.
  25. Those things all go hand-in-hand. Good luck building a team without being strong in those two areas in-particular. They are fundamental to a good football team and right now, we are not strong for certain in the O-Line dept and many would argue coaching too, but we've already basically been told we are having the same guys running the offense and defense next season. For the same reason nobody wants him as their HC either.
