  1. It's not like Dallas has been winning Super Bowls lately either.
  2. That's what they seem to not understand against QBs like Burrow and Mahomes...if you don't force them to make a mistake, they most likely aren't going to make one. You let them sit back there against soft coverage and no pressure, they will pick you apart all day long.
  3. This is what I don't get. We almost never do this and that along with not getting pressure on the QB makes it just too easy. If you aren't at least going to try and disrupt the timing, you are going to have a bad day against good QBs.
  4. So because it was a total team collapse, that means we shouldn't address the problems and hold people accountable? And let's not act like that's the first time our defense has gotten shredded in our early playoff exits in recent years.
  5. And the Bills got their tails kicked on both sides of the ball all the same. The score wasn't even an accurate reflection of how badly they got beat.
  6. So would you feel better if the score was 40 - 28?
  7. The problem with that line of thinking is I'm convinced Cincy could've easily hung 40 on us had they wanted. Instead, they simply decided to pound the rock and chew the clock in the second half because our defense couldn't stop it.
  8. Yep, one thing the postseason has shown us is that you can throw regular season defensive rankings out the window. Build a defense that can get a couple of key stops to either force a punt or a FG and dump the rest of the resources into building an offensive juggernaut.
  9. What makes you think the Bills are going to be playing radically different style of D going forward? This is still McD's defense and I haven't heard anything suggested they will be changing the core defensive philosophy. IMO, you're going to get the same defense, with just a different play caller, and a few different players on the field. Obviously just changing who's calling the plays can have a pretty big impact on the defense since whoever takes over may be more aggressive than Frazier was. We'll just have to wait and see.
  10. Given the mountain of injuries on the D this year, he was really already playing with that anyway. The Bills are trying to sell it as a Frazier decision, but it has a mutual agreement written all over it.
  11. Yep, you can't expect dominating defensive performances against teams like KC and Cincy. It's about having a defense that can slow the opponent down and get some key stops. Frazier's defenses were routinely lacking in that department in the postseason.
  12. Cincy had 30 first downs. 240 through the air and 172 on the ground. When were these defensive stops going to happen that would keep the Bills in the game? Cincy wasn't playing aggressively in the second half because they didn't need to. They chewed the clock and they did so because the defense couldn't stop them. +8 minutes time of possession for Cincy. Pure domination at the line of scrimmage. Barely sniffed Burrow all night long against a backup O-line. Unacceptable. DBs lining up 7 to 10 yards off the ball on a 3rd and 5. Unacceptable. And we already knew our O-line sucks, so pointing the finger at the offense to deflect away from a total defensive collapse is not a valid excuse.
  13. They definitely aren't very good at selling an obvious lie.
  14. What does Eagles vs Chiefs have to do with how bad our D got blown off the ball vs Cincy? But since you brought it up, the Chiefs had 14 points in the first half and only 7 of which were by the offense. Cincy was up 14-0 after their first 2 possessions against us and that set the tone for the game. Bills players are on record saying that Cincy going up 14-0 and making it look easy in the process took the wind out of their sails. Cincy could've scored 40 that game without breaking a sweat. They clearly let their foot off the gas.
  15. The offense failed harder when Cincy could've easily hung 40 on us? In what aspect do you consider the defense played anything close to acceptable? They couldn't stop the run or the pass. The mindset that the offense failed harder when the defense couldn't stop anything against a majority backup O-line is an odd take.
  16. The Bills were playing against backups at 3 out of 5 spots on the O-line. Cincy clearly took their foot off the gas and just pounded the rock, which the Bills couldn't stop either. They could've easily hung 40 if they needed to. And it's no secret out O-line sucks, so was it really a big surprise our offense didn't do anything? Doesn't change the fact our defense couldn't stop anything.
  17. Do you expect your defense to allow the other team to score on every possession? The Bills couldn't stop them at all. They were toying with us in the second half. Getting literally blown off the ball with backup lineman. There's a huge difference between slowing a team down and just getting run over like the Bills did.
  18. Cincy scored TDs on their first two drives and made it look too easy. 14-0 hole right off the bat. That set the tone for the entire game. They let their foot off the gas in the second half. They could've put up 40 if they had to. The Bills couldn't stop the run or the pass.
  19. I don't think we see a new scheme as long as McD is here. Same D, different play caller. Sometimes, that's all it takes to have vastly different results.
  20. This defense, which is McD's, depends on getting pressure with the front 4. When that doesn't happen, you get the results we got against good teams. The scheming isn't going to change as long as McD is here. Unless they can generate a better pass rush with the front 4, I don't see much changing. Maybe a little more aggressive play calling, but that's only going to go so far.
  21. IMO, this was a way to let his departure look less like he's being let go. He's turning 64 in April. My guess is he doesn't come back.
  22. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-announce-leslie-frazier-is-taking-a-year-off-and-other-coaching-changes He's getting ready to turn 64 in April. I bet he doesn't come back. This was a way to make his departure look less like he was being let go.
  23. Ah, bribing a billionaire at the expense of the taxpayers, who also then get the privilege of paying an ungodly amount to actually go to a game and freeze in Dec/Jan. Not to mention the fact that the weather is certainly no advantage to the Bills offense, despite the folks who mistakenly think it is.
  24. I'm simply asking if I'm still getting rained and snowed on and freezing my butt off in the winter, what are taxpayers really getting for the hundreds of millions of dollars they're contributing to this? I prefer it to be more than mainly cosmetic differences.
  25. Just? You're talking about practical upgrades and then act like a roof isn't one of those.
