  1. What? Von is what's considered an EDGE rusher in today's terminology. Lawrence Taylor was technically an OLB, but was usually used to rush the QB in a 4-3 scheme. According to your logic, LT was a DE.
  2. Tre's strength is being a shutdown corner. Who he's covering is going to be blanketed with very few windows for the QB to get the ball to that receiver or that part of the field. Safety is nothing like that. There's much more reading of the QB, being the coverage over the top of plays to discourage and prevent the deep balls, and to be able to act in an instant for run support on a handoff up the middle or off tackle. Completely different skill sets and Tre is undoubtedly a guy with the skillsets of a shutdown corner, not a safety.
  3. I don't know if Lamar gets that kind of money if Baltimore keeps folding in the second half of games. Teams are clearly making adjustments at halftime and Lamar's second half against the Dolphins and Bills were nothing like the first half. I think he had 36 yds and 2 picks in the second half against the Bills.
  4. It won't. It's a knee jerk reaction that doesn't take into account the OL not doing a great job getting any type of push or opening any holes. Expecting to be able to bring in a back that can simply turn plays stopped for little to no gain into good, positive yardage with any type of consistency is wishful thinking. Singletary and Moss are obviously not new to this team, yet there seemed to be this expectation that the running game would be much improved this year. I'm going to assume much of those expectations came from the new OL coaching, which is weird. It's that OL that is probably the biggest factor in the equation here, but now we think getting a new RB will solve the problem.
  5. If motor should unfortunately get bit by the injury bug like so many have, it's going to be hilarious watching you be forced to endure our Rookie actually getting reps. You act like you're the only one that has any football background. Having the same background, I can tell you, and you should already know, that is not always true. And practices in the NFL during the season usually have little to nothing to do with the depth chart. It's usually to polish execution of plays.
  6. What exactly are we combining or "conflating" here? We're talking about our running game and our running backs are already part of the conversation because they are quite literally what makes up our running game.
  7. He's not conflating anything. We have running back by committee. Discussing the contributions, or lack thereof of Moss, is a perfectly legitimate observation when the overarching theme here is playing time and the lack of playing time that our Rookie is getting. If the goal here was to ensure the Bills are never able to develop a rookie RB, your thought process will definitely make sure that goal is achieved.
  8. Are you at practice? Did McD tell you this? If not, that's pure speculation. It's not self-evident at all. You can speculate and claim correlation implies causation, but in the end, you're still left with nothing but speculation. Unless you somehow happen to be on the ins with McD and he's personally told you the reason Cook doesn't get more reps is because he doesn't trust him, you're guessing. Period.
  9. You're not at practice either and since other players and the coaching staff have literally been singing this guy's praises since training camp, I really don't know what your point is here.
  10. That's not how it works. Rookies are the ones who are learning and are expected to make mistakes. Vets don't get a pass just because they're vets. And considering Singletary is a vet of what has been a mediocre running game at best, I'm not sure why it is you think Singletary gets a pass. He certainly has no history that makes him untouchable or should make him immune to scrutiny when he puts the ball on the ground, which leads to points for the other team.
  11. Why? So Duke can get 1 touch a game just like Cook?
  12. OK, it led to points for the other team.
  13. The only ill iniformed take is yours considering I actually took the time to look it up. The temp was within 1 degree of last year, It was 89 degrees air temp this year, 88 last year with the exact same dewpoint (humidity). You're here calling someone else ill informed when I'm the one who researched it, not you. And it's still a lousy, pathetic excuse for losing EITHER WAY. Your offense is on the field for 90 plays and almost the equivalent of 3 entire quarters. They got tired playing that much in hot temps. Imagine that.
  14. Perfect time to give Cook some real playing time so we can actually get a good look instead of people calling him a bust based on the one target he gets in game.
  15. The amount of dropped passes yesterday and you single him out. Amazing. Refresh my memory...was it Cook's drop or Singletary's fumble that directly led to 7 pts for Baltimore?
  16. Welp, might as well move Cook to the WR depth chart since they don't want to use him at RB.
  17. First, I woulda said you better get a priest and some holy water to get rid of whatever curse it is that's been put on our guys. Then I'd probably go 2-2. Maybe 1-3 if I was already in a bad mood when you asked me.
  18. LOL, I'm just going to prop you up here in the corner until the Bills win. Thanks.
  19. Very true, but that was on the Bills. If your offense is on the field for almost the equivalent of 3 entire quarters, your QB is throwing 63 passes, the receivers having to run that many routes, and the OL having to hold that many blocks, they are going to be tired even if it's not that hot.
  20. I hate games like this. Based on how things go with us, we will make this kid look like Tom Brady 2.0 coming off the bench to replace a hurt Drew Bledsoe. I know, I'm a pessimist. Can you blame me though? When the Bills win, it's a great surprise, but if they lose, I'm never really disappointed since I expected it.
  21. I remember that game well. Bubby Brister was the Steelers QB. Kelly was over 300 yards, TT had over 100 rushing, and Reed and Beebe were both over 100 yds receiving. The offense was really clicking that day against what was normally a tough Steeler defense led by Rod Woodson and Co.
  22. It's not as if. I didn't read the OP at all, lol. I just read the title.
  23. At halftime, I sacrificed a goat and drew the buffalo on my living room wall with the blood. No, not really. One of my dachshunds came and sat with me in my recliner for the 2nd half of the game. Now he has to sit with me every week.
  24. The football gods smiled on Josh and decided they owed him one after having to endure a sexual assault last week.
  25. Yeah, even though we haven't won anything yet, Josh Allen is a special player and we are lucky to have him.
