NFL Week 8: Packers at Bills - post game thread
Billz4ever replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they are gashing the D that is no different than running effective pass plays. You adapt to what the offense is doing. If you are letting them rip off huge chunks of yards on the ground, you might as well make their receivers beat you since the receiving core is GBs big weakness right now. -

What they were giving up on the ground, they might as well have been giving up through the air since the yardage gained was pass like yardage. We knew they were running but the D still couldn't stop it. That is rigid play calling and shows a lack of ability to adapt to what the offense is doing. The play calling tonight was questionable on both sides of the ball and the Bills won because they are simple a much better team than GB, but bad execution and play calling kept this game closer than it should've been. This game should've played out how the Pittsburgh game did the second half. -

You can claim they would've done this or that, but the fact is they were getting gouged and that was typical of Frazier not being able to adapt to what the opposing offense is doing. And if you know you're down those players, you must adapt. Letting the other team rip off 10 , 20 yard runs is effectively the same as a passing game. You tell the D line to play the run, not the pass. It seemed like our D line was playing the pass all night. It seemed as though our D, especially D line, was playing the pass when you knew they were going to keep running the ball. I blame the D play calling. -

No, I'm sure the Pack knew they weren't going to win, but to give up those kind of chunks of yards on the ground against a team that thinks they can play nickel D and still stop the run, that was not a good showing. -

That's only because they didn't execute on those drive ending plays. That doesn't change the fact a team with a poor receiving core right now was able to gouge our D for way too many big plays on the ground. -

He was in no-man's land and you know he wanted to run, but was conflicted. To me, that's from being told not to run. We've gotten to where we are letting Josh be Josh. Don't screw up the recipe. -

Yep, said earlier that if you sew that seed of doubt in the QB'S mind and make him question if he should run when the run was there , that's their result. Let Josh be Josh. -

McD acknowledged they didn't play their best ball tonight and didn't make it seem all rosie and rainbows, so I'm glad they realize they have some rust to knock off after the bye. Time to clean that up and put them away. The second half of this game should've been like the Pittsburgh game with a quick put them away and move on. -

The Bills have become accustomed to believing they can stop the run and play nickel D at the same time. They didn't do a good job of that tonight. Seeing 1st downs+ ripped off run after run was not what I wanted to see and those become as good as pass plays from a team playing from behind. -

It was working for them though. If you can't pass, do what is working and they were chewing off huge chunks of yards on the ground. More than I would like to see. They essentially turned the needed pass plays into effective run plays. The Bills might like to think they can play nickel D all the time and still stop the run, but they didn't do a good job of it tonight. -

The D I think got in the heads of the offense tonight. Some strange play calling in the second half and Josh was definitely off in the 2nd half. Regardless, a win is a win is a win. Knock the rust off from the bye and get back in the groove. -

Win or lose, the worst 2nd half of the season. Players letting the D get in their heads, Josh clearly off with throws and poor play calling. The bye is only good for getting guys healthy. -

We are sloppy on both sides of the ball. Execution and play calling. No question. -

Josh has had it beat into his head so much not to run, that's what happens. -

Where da Cook haters at? -
I wouldn't want Toney at all. Bad attitude and doesn't seem to have a good work ethic from what I've seen. Sometimes I think Bills fans are like a kid that just got an allowance, and the money is burning a hole in their pocket. Don't know what they want to spend it on, but they have to buy something. If it's a legit player who makes sense to Beane, I'm all for it, but it's like some people want to get somebody just for the sake of saying we made a move. I don't get it.

Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
Billz4ever replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
With the schedule the Eagles have played, I think a lot of QBs would look pretty good at this point. The only remotely good teams they've beaten are Minn and Dallas. -
The wind in the stadium swirls and can change directions in a heartbeat. There's no predicting this. Any article trying to claim our kickers know the wind is clearly just speculation and would also be claiming that correlation implies causation. The wind literally cost us homefield last year against the Chiefs since we held the tiebreaker. We lost the wind game at home in December to a team that threw 3 passes. Because the early, mid-90s Bills were great teams, people now somehow automatically equate the Buffalo weather as being an advantage for us, which defies logic when we are a pass-happy offense now.

OBJ is obviously the biggest name on the market, but does anyone actually know his progress recovering from his injury? Is the guy even close to being able to practice? Tre went down before he did and is just now getting ready to come back. This is OBJ's second ACL injury. Even if he does come back this year, is he going to be anywhere near 100%? I just can't see it. Like you, I'd much rather see a lesser known talent be brought it with the intention of keeping him rather than a big name rental not even close to full strength.

Their GM would never live that down if he came to a division rival and went off.
-
And? That's when you should be running the ball and he averaged 5 yds/carry. Apparently, not good enough. And it's apparently not good enough when he gets 7 yards on 1st and 10, doesn't get the ball again, and it's his fault they don't score.
-
The crisis some are seeing is because we didn't give up a first rounder or multiple picks like a scary amount of people here wanted and now CMC is a 49er instead of a Bill. Panic mode activated. How will we survive? The season is over, lol.
-
So he got 7 yards on a first and 10 and you're complaining? Why didn't he get it again?...and how is it his fault we got no points that drive if he didn't get the ball again? Allen threw 3 straight incompletions with the turf monster tripping McK on 4th down and you're blaming motor for not scoring? LMAO
