  1. Right. While I think it's awesome he's made this kind of recovery, people need to pump the breaks a bit and realize this doesn't mean he will play for us in the playoffs. To go through what he's gone through and come back in the same season maybe unprecedented. Even if he is able to play, how effective would he be? We definitely need to temper expectations.
  2. That's fantastic news. The million-dollar question is how effective would they be at this point after being out for so long? I still look at both of them as next season guys. I'd love to be wrong though.
  3. Simpson ranks as the #3 prospect at inside backer. What makes anyone think he'd still be there by the time we're up? Supposedly he has a 40-inch vertical and runs a 4.4 at 6' 3" and 225 lbs. I'd be shocked if he was still on the board at the end of the first round. Our biggest needs going into this draft are WR and OL. We need to get serious about getting the face of the franchise the protection and weapons he needs instead of crossing our fingers and hoping for the best with an average O-Line and guys like Davis at WR2. If we are trying to get a legit WR2, we may have to look at FA or trade given our draft position, but who knows.
  4. Whatever they do, whether it's through the draft, free agency, or trade, we need to be constantly reminded we are in our window NOW and it's not going to be this way forever. Davis is not the guy at WR2 IMO and is more of a WR3 given his numbers and especially given how much we throw the ball. His numbers are more on par with Tyler Boyd, Cincy's WR3, than a WR2. Can we expect to get a legit WR2 out of the draft considering 6 WRs were already off the board in the first 18 picks in last year's draft? I see that same trend continuing. Would we be spending a first-round pick on what's not first-round talent if we take a WR there? Obviously, we won't know who could potentially fall to later in the first round until draft day, but we need to not use a first-round pick on a WR if it's not first-round talent. I would rather see them use it on OL there. Some folks in the thread have made some interesting suggestions that would be worth looking into from free agency. Whether Beane would consider trading for someone like Hopkins and what that would cost remains to be seen. OBJ is still out there too, even though I think that train has already left the station.
  5. There were 6 WRs taken in the top 18 picks last year. What receiver are you thinking we get that's immediately WR2 material in this offense?
  6. If true, DK did put themselves in a pickle. I don't know how they can justify using stats from the game in some instances and not others.
  7. We need a legit WR2. Davis is not panning out by any standard. I'm not expecting a rookie to be able to immediately step into that role.
  8. We need a legit WR2. Whether that comes from trade or FA, I think they need an upgrade since Davis just isn't getting it done.
  9. I'd do both. Not necessarily Hopkins. They have to seriously take under consideration that Davis isn't the answer at WR2 and didn't work out as they had hoped. Drafting a WR late in the first round, given 6 were taken by pick 20 last year, might not produce a game ready guy either. A legit WR2 might have to come via trade or FA.
  10. That's insane. That legit takes some planning and skill to pull off.
  11. Yep, I think we need to draft WR and OL, so it might as well be with the expectation that it's Davis' replacement. Maybe that even lights a fire under him, who knows. This draft should be all about getting weapons and protection for the face of the franchise.
  12. He broke his thumb, which isn't good for a RB because they can't switch the ball to the other hand. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35414300/dolphins-expect-more-clarity-tagovailoa-mostert-later-week
  13. The ball he had bounce off of him was embarrassing. Give me Beasley in the slot please.
  14. Mostert was ripping us for 8 y/c just a few short weeks ago. Hopefully the Bills can keep their RB's in check this time.
  15. You're certainly 110% correct there. Davis is the biggest disappointment of this season IMO.
  16. The Bills (and the Bengals to an extent) were under severe mental stress this week. I would hardly call it the same thing as a bye.
  17. OK, so? That still shows Davis is meh when he's our #2 and their #3 has almost as many yards and has more catches.
  18. Not in the playoffs they didn't.
  19. Chase and Higgins are both over 1K yards and Boyd is less than 100 behind Davis, our #2.
  20. Neutral site is way overrated IMO. Especially if we're talking about playing KC, who's averaging an entire touchdown more on the road than at home. Having to play 1 less game on the road to the SB is huge.
  21. Where was it noted the Bills never wanted to make it up at a later date? It obviously was not going to happen that night. I thought it was soley the league's decision that it was never going to be resumed. Of course had you asked the Bills that night or even the next day, they probably would've said they don't want to play a game for the rest of the season. It just felt like to me the Bills were being penalized for circumstances that were beyond anyone's control.
  22. Only having to win 2 games instead of 3 is a big difference. Given that the Bills were the ones in the driver's seat for the #1 seed going into that game, I think the option of homefield or the bye should've been given to the Bills. The Bills controlled their own Destiny and have never lost since. But we didn't cancel the game, the league did. For us to have lost the #1 seed, we should've been made to forfeit. At least then it was the Bills' decision. For the league to both cancel the game and then give KC the bye is a foul, IMO.
  23. Nope, especially when they lost to the Bills. All they had to do was beat a non-playoff team who had a new QB and they get rewarded with a bye. Ridiculous.
