What's crazy though is Allen was only sacked 14 times all last year and is already at 20 this year through 9 games.
-
I know that's not Lamar and Allen. I thought you were making a different point, my bad.
-
Not even arguing that, but Diggs ran himself out of town.
-
Saw this coming? The Bills were in the AFCCG the year after he left, lol.
-
I mean, where are these throws? Has Shakir even been this far downfield on a pass route at any point this season? The Bills lost this game, but it certainly wasn't because of their inability to move the ball and score.
-
I get Shakir built his name on his YAC ability, but am I the only one who thinks this is getting a little ridiculous?

Josh doesn't seem to be playing with the emotion he's had in season's past...at least that's the vibes he's been giving off at times on the sideline and at pressers. A fired-up Josh is a Josh who's dialed in, knows he's the best player on the football field and can put it wherever he wants with confidence. It seems like we've gotten the not-so-sure version of Josh in several games this season for some reason. I actually think a constructive ass-chewing could be beneficial to him. Bring back some of that fire I haven't seen much of this year.

Good post. Could be any number of things and that's a pretty good list. One more I'd add as a possibility is Josh not getting into a good rhythm due to play calling. They're relying heavily on the run and short passes this year, which I think can be hurting his ability to get into a rhythm and we all know Josh needs to get into a good rhythm. We also know what Josh looks like when he can't get in a rhythm. It's what he's looked like a good portion of this season. He looked great in the KC game and they were making more downfield throws, which I think helped him get going and sustain a rhythm.

Since Dabs has some free time now, maybe we could talk him into giving Josh a talkin' to.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
Billz4ever replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
According to the Stadium PR, it's actually 64%, but yeah, that certainly looks farm from the claim that basically 2/3s of the seats are covered. Heck, by the looks of that, if Orchard Park gets a couple foot dumping, they're going to still be paying the public $20 bucks an hours to dig it out. https://www.billsstadiumexperience.com/stadium-features -
Instead of going on the radio show to scold guys for daring to have concerns about the WR room, he should've been telling himself, "Gee, all these people who are sweating the talent level in our WR room...maybe they have a point". It's actually hard for me to believe an NFL GM can't look at these WRs and be able to recognize there isn't a single one on this team a DC is looking at and even raising an eyebrow over. Say what you want about Diggs, but DCs were always having to worry about where he was lining up and specifically schemed to take him away or make it harder to get the ball to him. Now, it's literally the opposite. DC's are DARING our WRs to beat them and will sell out to stopping Cook because they know our WRs just can't do it. Beane then went into panic mode and was ready to start tossing out first round picks midseason because he knows he screwed up (DK Metcalf was traded for a 2nd rounder in the offseason, Beane). Another lesson to be learned there.

Jaire Alexander Stepping Away from Football

And to think, this is considered a much more player-friendly league than it was 20-30 years ago. Now, there's a big emphasis on player health and safety, both physical and mental, when back then, trying to take a QB or WR's head off was looked at as just part of the game and what happened to them off the field wasn't really any of their concern. There's some that say the league has been hurt by these rule and policy changes, but they were necessary. Like you said, these are human beings, not rock 'em sock'em robots, who have lives and who also need to have lives after football. -
I think the offense we're running is also part of the problem. As we all know, Josh, maybe more than most, is a rhythm QB. Sometimes it takes him a minute, but once he's in that headspace, he's nearly unstoppable. He's even alluded to this in the past. A run heavy offense that focuses on a lot of short passes (too much IMO) can make it harder for him to get in a groove. He was brilliant in the KC game and I think at least some of that was because we were taking more downfield shots and Josh was able to get into a rhythm. I could be way off, but that's just my observation of Josh this season vs previous seasons and what they're doing offensively.

Keon is definitely to blame if he's not coachable. I'm also going to point a finger at Beane, who drafted him when it was argued at the time he wasn't the right player the Bills needed, and also because they supposedly did their homework on this kid. I will say that if somehow Keon is able to turn it around and become a nice chess piece in this offense, I will gladly eat a hefty plate of crow, but time is ticking and the NFL doesn't wait long for players to mature and figure things out.

T.J. Sanders to return to practice this week from IR
Billz4ever replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dallas gave 2026 2nd and 2027 first. For the Bills to beat that, that's probably at least the Bills 2026 and 2027 firsts based on where we typically pick, and maybe an additional later round pick and that's if the Jets were even interested in making the deal with a division rival. In any case, it would've needed to be a massive overpay. He's a good player, but I'm not doing that. Garrett WIlson on the other hand would make me think hard even though I don't know how they'd fit his contract into the cap situation. -
When they were still down 16 late in the 3rd when they should've been going tempo, I remember a few plays where they were still using up almost all the play clock. They were out of sorts the entire game. I know technically 16 is really only 2 scores, but there just didn't seem to be any urgency even when it seemed there should be. I even said to the wife at the time that it almost feels like the Bills think they're the ones up 16-0.
-
I don't think you can really say they don't try to get him the ball. Keon has the second most targets of all pass catchers (49), second to only Shakir (58) and if you subtract all the bubble screens thrown to Shakir, I think with out a doubt it shows Coleman gets the most downfield targets on the team. No other WR has over 20 and Kincaid has 36 for reference. Allen has missed a number of reads and bailed on clean pockets for sure and I don't know if it's confidence in these guys combined with playcalling/scheme or what but something is very off from last year IMO.
-
To me, Keon looks like the same player from last season, despite constantly hearing from the team how he stepped up his preparation and it showed out in camp. If that's true, why has that not translated into games? Maybe if they committed to using him in the slot, where I think he belongs, we'd actually see more, but I simply don't think we're ever going to see it as long as they continue to try to make him into something he's not.
-
They kinda already indirectly have without using those exact words. First asking questions about his production, now questioning the effort is basically asking that question and McD apparently continues to believe he's deserving of all the targets he gets. I and obviously many others at this point would disagree.
-
I continue to believe Coleman is really just a big slot receiver but they keep trying to force that square peg into the round hole and we see the results. I get that we're not lacking in slot guys, but putting the slowest one in the room on the outside who always has a DB glued to his hip and expecting miracles isn't going to cut it.
-
I'd like to think it's not an ego thing, but it feels like Beane is sometimes trying to prove conventional wisdom wrong. Coleman is exactly what basically all major scouting reports said he was, yet Beane decided he knew better and that he was what this team needed. It's either than or this team's scouting and talent evaluation leave a lot to be desired.
