  1. Sounds like it will be a great movie.
  2. Buffalo's weather sucks. California is awesome.
  3. Wut privat skool did yer parentz send u 2? I think they mey haf overpaid.
  4. Fez is saying that there is no quantitative evidence that correlates cell phone use to bad driving. Most people just provide anecdotal evidence when trying to make a "cell phone driving ban" argument. If somebody is swerving and you notice they are on a cell phone, you automatically blame the cell phone. Why wouldn't you just blame the driver? I guarantee that person is a sh------- driver with or without a cell phone.
  5. I hate these laws, but most people are in favor of them. Selecting the ban on cell phone use is arbitrary. Why not ban eating while driving? Smoking? Operating the radio? Talking? Putting on makeup? People do all these things while driving, yet the government wants to single out one of them.
  6. Why has Pacino added a Southern drawl to his voice?
  7. Let me just clarify something, is the account that was stolen from the one you have directly linked to PayPal? I have a shell checking account linked to my PayPal account and that bank account never has more than $100 in it. I don't know if that helps but it makes sense to me.
  8. I know I've done it before, but it seems as thought this flight no longer exists. Can anyone tell me when USAir stopped direct service to PIT from BUF?
  9. Turns out it wasn't as legit as the original article indicates. http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23911279-23109,00.html
  10. There are dents from the hail on the hood, roof, and trunk. Most of the dents can be repaired using their super duper "paintless dent repair" method which is better because it doesn't require bondo or more importantly, to repaint. Some dents on the hood are so severe that they also penetrated the finish of the paint. Consequently these severe dents must not only be popped out, but also repainted. If you are suggesting dishonesty on my part, I am only repeating what the Geico claims adjuster and shop repairman told me.
  11. I got the estimate today. $3000 to repair the roof, hood and trunk. The hood has some cracked paint so they will also have to repaint it. The question is, should I get it fixed or should I just keep the $3000 - 500. Or maybe just have the hood fixed and pocket the difference. Can anyone recommend a good body shop in Buffalo?
  12. I didn't think it was snappish, but I have modified my post to make it seem less so. I apologize to you LewPort if I was curt.
  13. I am already a member of the ACS and am aware of their career website. Thanks for the advice, though.
  14. The majority of my training is in synthetic chemistry. I synthesize stuff. I am trying to parlay that into a position with a variety of different types of companies: ie. pharmaceuticals, coatings, fragrances, etc. I hope you were requesting a serious answer.
  15. Anybody on here a chemist? I will be finishing grad school at the end of the summer. I have been searching for a job for quite a while. I'm starting to resort to alternative means of job searching, such as this one. If anyone has anything, PM me.
  16. Usually the way I avoid situations like this is by not getting arrested.
  17. Too late, I already filed a claim. Taking it to the collision shop tomorrow morning to get an inspection/estimate. I hope you're not steering me wrong, Steve!
  18. I realize this was a generous estimate. But how does an insurance company determine what a car is worth? Thank you stoj and stuck. I am doubting that it is a total loss, but I will not know unless I get an estimate. I will do that and then make a decision. Why wouldn't I use the check for my car? Because the damage is strictly cosmetic. It is not affecting the performance of my car. You would get it fixed. If my car was newer I probably would too. But at this point if I can get a few bucks out of this I will use it toward something more practical, like paying off other debt. Thanks again for the advice.
  19. First, to clarify, the dents aren't golf ball size. You don't really notice them until you look closely at the car. Second of all, the car was in great condition to this prior, has about 62k of miles and is completely paid off. I had every intention of driving this thing until it needs to be junked. This is strictly due to the frugal lifestyle that I choose to live. I have never received any speeding tickets and have never filed an insurance claim in my entire life. I take those stupid driver safety courses every three years to get the extra discount. I'm imagining that I'm in the better category. So to clarify, are you saying I can get an estimate and file a claim and NOT have my car fixed but still keep the cash that Geico was going to give me? And by "totaling out", are you saying that Geico would determine that they owed me whatever the car was worth, or what it would cost to repair? So I could pay my $500 deductible, not have my car fixed, and still have Geico cut me a check for ~$11,000 minus salvage value? What the heck would the catch be then? My insurance rates would HAVE to go up, right?
