  1. I think the difference is Allen has achieved a level of fandom with the Bills that few others have. Diggs' issues and treatment of #17 for his last year plus here (notably back to the Cincinatti debacle, the last straw tweet "You sure" etc) have soured his image here beyond repair with most. It doesn't take much of a leap to read between the lines as to what Allen thinks of him. The "Everybody Eats" speech and repeated mention was absolutely his way of bashing Diggs without saying his name. Fans aren't forgiving Diggs for forcing his way out of what most would say is a great situation (qb and winning-wise) for less money guaranteed (biting him in the ass now). Sorry he is hurt, but thrilled he is no longer a Bill.
  2. I think it is very likely, given the divisions they play in, that Houston is the 2/3 and Balt/Pit are the 4. Out of Bal, Hou, KC I would definitely prefer to play Hou. We owe them big time.
  3. Anyone that has ever been on a team knows that McDermott is not going to openly celebrate. It sends the wrong message to the existing WR group. You don't think they know that Cooper is coming because they aren't enough?? I am pretty sure that is not a well-kept secret. He is doing his best to deflect the attention from Cooper and not slam the current group of WRs. You can criticize McD for many other things related to late-game strategy and player usage, but this Press Conference is not one of them. If Cooper is here after 6 weeks and not being utilized, that is a different story, but I highly doubt that will be the case.
  4. Agree, that is the one thing he generally gets right. My main issue with end of half/game situations is the ridiculously passive looks that give away 15-20 yard chunks when there is still enough time for those to matter. That is why 13 seconds happened with no resistance, why the easy completion happened to setup Houston's game-winning fg (our safeties were both inexplicably at the 10-yard line that play when it was obvious Houston wanted an extra 10ish yards to kick), and how the Jets got to midfield for the hail mary. Stop playing like it is the last play of the game when two 15-yard completions with no resistance give up a fg.
  5. It was 3rd down and no, you are taught in junior high football to knock it down on 4th.
  6. Are there reasonable private lots on Big Tree Rd between California Rd and Regional Dr (players entrance)? Heading east on 20A through East Aurora after the game and thought that location may give us a little jump on traffic as opposed to stadium lots and don't mind the walk. We are planning to arrive by 9am Sunday. Go Bills!
  7. He is dusted though before Hollins runs by him...the Safety is sitting and starting to jump the dig while Hollins is in full sprint up-field. If you are correct and the throw should go outside, then Hollins route really sucks because he stays on the numbers for the first 10-15 yards after his break up-field and only fades to the sideline very late in his route which makes it a much more difficult catch. One thing everyone can agree on, Mack Hollins is not the answer for this type of target share.
  8. There is no way that throw is supposed to take him back out to the sideline. Double move is going to the inside and he beats the Safety by 5 yards. A throw to the outside is to fade away from the CB on a straight vertical route and keep the ball away from Safety help. On this throw, there is no Safety help to worry about because the Safety is 5 yards behind Hollins after his Dig fake. Throw it to the middle to allow Hollins to continue on the path he was on after the Dig fake. Poor throw, it happens.
  9. Except himself. See KC drop reaction. That is the rub.
  10. Yep he beat the safety on the double move which means the middle of the field was wide open. Fade to the sideline is necessary with tight coverage from a CB. In this case the play was lead him to the middle of the field which is a much easier catch and was completely wide open.
  11. This. Running with all of their timeouts still would have given Houston a very good shot at a fg. We’d have punted with 16-18 seconds left with 3 runs assuming no 1st down. High percentage passes to get a 1st down and guarantee OT was the correct move. What is indefensible is the decision to play the 2 safeties at the 10 yard line with 7 seconds left when they were clearly going to try for a quick pass to get in better fg range. That soft, prevent defense without knowing what the offense actually needed and wanted to accomplish was 13 seconds all over again.
  12. Thanks goodness we aren’t in the AFC North. That division plays a different brand of football and we don’t match up well at all.
  13. Emotional investment is the key factor to a trap or letdown game. The fact the Bills had 10 days off to re-charge should give them 0 reason to be flat. Not to mention the London game has to have left a sour taste in the mouths of the returning players and coaches. They’ll be motivated with 10 days off and a prime time game at home against an opponent that the vets owe some payback.
  14. If memory serves the Bills had an opportunity to start taking control of this game early in the 2nd Half when a drive stalled due to an elementary dropped pass by ... Gave Davis. Pretty sure this was also the game that Diggs lost a 1-1 battle with a little DB that ended in an interception. Good riddance to both of them.
  15. 3 Sons Brewing by the airport was a great place for food and beer. Not sure about game day but we went last year over Thanksgiving and had a great time there.
  16. Born, raised, and still reside in central PA (split of Eagles/Steelers fans predominantly). First sports memory as a kid is ‘86/87 Penn State upsetting Testaverde/Irvin Canes in Fiesta Bowl. I followed Shane Conlan to the Bills and have been hooked since. Funny how much more Bills gear has popped up in my area over the last 5 years.
  17. Unbelievable perspective and commentary. Injuries are the great unknown but on paper, this team if healthy is better than the depleted version that lost to the Chiefs.
  18. Would McGovern slide to C and Edwards to LG now if Morse is injured?
  19. He doesn't have stone hands which is the really frustrating part. I think it is a concentration issue. The corner route he ran from the backfield for a TD against Dallas is a catch stone hands receivers don't make. Way too many drops for his skillset.
  20. Anyone know if that automatically makes divisional game on Sunday to not lose two days of rest?
  21. What should he do?? Eat the ball and turn it over on downs? After passing on Kincaid in the flat.. which he should have thrown, you absolutely have to throw the ball and take a chance on 4th down. I have seen many NFL and college players screw this up and pick off the pass rather than knock it down. Shocking to me that this is happening so frequently.
  22. Exactly this...The TD throw to Knox in the 4th qtr illustrated that confidence and trust which rather apparently re-appeared in the 2nd half. -In the 1st half, 1st drive he had Gilliam open on a flat route for a TD immediately but didn't let it rip and held the ball longer on the play. This was the non-call PI on Knox. -On 4th down on the 2nd drive he had Kincaid right away on a flat route for the 1st down but held it and ended up throwing the "Punt" Int that Davis was injured on. -The TD throw to Knox in the 4th qtr was decisive and immediate. He needs to trust his instincts and let it rip...not default back to play-making mode as much which I think he tends to do when he doubts his decision making and eyes.
  23. Nope it is pretty simple math. All 3 things have to happen for Bills to miss playoffs. Based on betting odds, assume roughly 60% chance Steelers win, 60% chance Jags win, 45% chance Bills lose. Probability of all 3 occurring and missing playoffs is (.6)*(.6)*(.45)=.162 or 16.2%.
  24. Agree. That was insane. I think Hamlin (the personal protector) was correct in executing the play call as he looped around immediately to go into downfield coverage. Why you would have the personal protector do that is beyond anything I understand as it completely opens up a direct line to the punter.
