  1. Our Rb’s do not know how to cut back.
  2. THAT is why we need to get Hines the ball on offense.
  3. Good things can happen when you blitz!
  4. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t mental. Physically he looks completely fine in every video i’ve seen.
  5. Woh! Didn’t realize having a discussion was taking a shot at you!? Do you and your friends never disagree? I was just pointing out that I think Chicago violence is a bit more widespread than you may have thought.
  6. Agreed that 5 years would be too long. Allen would be going into 11th season with a new head coach. Not ideal. I think it’s likely they would move on from McDermott the same season that the new stadium is unveiled, which would be 3 more seasons. New digs, new coach, new direction, get the fans hyped up, etc.
  7. Im not so sure that history shows that is random when you look at the big picture. A few years of randomness doesn’t misplace decades of opposite proof. Belichick, McVay, Reid, and Tomlin have been in 15 of the last 21 Super Bowl’s. Before that - Gibbs, Walsh, Parcells and Levy were in 11 of 15 Super Bowls. Before that - Knoll, Landry, Madden and Shula were in 10 straight Super Bowls. I don’t see much randomness in at least making a Super Bowl appearance. It seems like, outside of the random lighting in a bottle teams that make up a small percentage of Super Bowl appearances, sustained success coaches make up the majority of Super Bowl appearances and you either have one of those coaches or you don’t.
  8. You talked about what history has shown you. I shared another piece of history.
  9. That last paragraph. Their turnover differential is not sustainable. Their winning games due to a completely lopsided turnover differential that history has shown us does not stay like that for long.
  10. Wow, that’s kinda frightening. So, we have the entire history of the NFL weighted against us. If you believe in that sort of thing. Thankfully I don’t. Still, fascinating.
  11. I know some people like to compare the present to the past. By this time in Marv Levy’s tenure (6th full season as Head Coach of the Bills), he was on his way to his 3rd Super Bowl appearance.
  12. Is there any amount of time that would make you want to move on? For example, if we get to year 10 of McDermott and we still haven’t played in a Super Bowl (but are still getting to the playoffs), is that good enough for you? How about 15 years? At that point, Allen’s career would be close to over and wasted. 20 years? Are you okay with a perpetual “good enough” situation or is there a limit to your patience?
  13. The Chicago police crime map seems to disagree with you. For those new to crime maps, red means “watch out!”
  14. When I started my business, I just wanted to earn an extra $1000 per month to support my family. That’s all I craved. Then $3000 months came and it was gold. We celebrated them. Cried (happy tears) over them. Suddenly $1000 months weren’t as amazing. Then we hit $7000 months and $3000 didn’t seem as great anymore. Then we hit $15000 months and $7000 was an afterthought. Then we hit $30000 months and $15000 months were disappointing. etc Imagine if I had gotten to $1000 - my original goal - and decided “this is good enough”. An entire company wouldn’t exist in the way that it does today. Employees with families to feed wouldn’t have their job. Etc. It is okay to adjust expectations when you reach higher success. It is okay to say “great job on reaching the original goal, but we need you to reach a higher goal now”.
  15. 5 head coaches were hired the year that McDermott was. 2 have been to a Super Bowl. 1 has been to multiple Super Bowls and won a Super Bowl. 3 Have been fired (one of those fired had a winning record and a playoff win). And 1 is McDermott.
  16. The idea that we waited 17 years for only playoff appearances almost seems sadder than not getting there at all.
  17. Daboll got a head coaching job by being in Buffalo…
  18. Perhaps I misinterpreted your post. It sounded like you were saying that coaching in Buffalo doesn’t lead to head coaching jobs.
  19. Yeah i’m not sure you want to go gallivanting around Detroit.
  20. That makes absolutely no sense.
  21. Josina Anderson of CBS Sports spoke to an NFL source who expressed concern that the Bills may not even be able to fly out of Buffalo. “Snow is coming down hard right now,” the source told Anderson. “I don’t know what’s the contingency if everyone can’t make it to the airport or we can’t fly out.”
