Yep. I did an entire analysis on the topic. Here it is: https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/248039-how-long-does-it-take-an-nfl-head-coach-to-reach-his-1st-super-bowl/

You’re not alone in this thought but I truly don’t understand it. Allen had several “off” throws but overall he played fairly well. He was under constant pressure, turned at least 4 sacks into throwaways or completions by evading defenders, and had 3 TD’s to go along with 66% passing.
-
That’s putting it lightly. I thought Allen was fine today given the circumstances. Did he have some poor throws? Throws that went too high, too wide, or too long? Absolutely. But any other QB is getting sacked 6 or 7 times today. Most importantly, Allen left the field with a LEAD and only 2 minutes left. .

The point of that thread was showing, historically, Super Bowl coaches have gotten there in X amount of time. After that, the data indicates that coaches will only go so far. Your post above says: “I have to begin wondering if he has taken this team as far as he can take them”. It’s the same topic, except yours is based on the eye test and mine is based on data.

Wow. Really?

As for point #3, does this means your feelings have changed on this thread now? @oldmanfan

Watching the Chiefs game. Bills no where near them.

Andy Reid. -
Just Another Guy.
-
He has been averaging 20-something snaps a game.
-
I completely understand your point, but consider this: The last time he came back from an ACL tear it was only 9 months between his injury date and his first game back. In his first three games back he had 9 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 TFL. Of course, he was younger. But that’s kinda the point - father time catches up to everyone.
-
When you say it like that way…
-
I don’t blame you. When he played, it was as if we subbed in a JAG.
-
Some never come back from it.
-
Perhaps, but his career has been a downward trajectory. 2021: 12 y/r and 9 TD 2022: 11 y/r and 6 TD 2023: 7 y/r and on pace for 2 TD Not to mention the drops in crucial moments.
-
He is 3 weeks post comeback and there is very little bend to his rush, much slower get-off (you can tell he is trying to jump the snap to get the edge), and I have yet to see him win a single match-up. He simply looks bad. Last time he came back from an ICL injury he was younger, but he had 9 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 TFL in his first 3 games back. Do we feel Von is toast? His dead cap is $32.5M so he is not going anywhere.

And the team with Burrow and whatever the Cinci coaches name is.
-
Chiefs started 3-4 in 2021. 🤷🏻♂️
-
At the very least we need to go Kincaid in 11 personnel.
-
Finding openings in the zone, fantastic hands, made a couple defenders miss, etc. 8 receptions for 75 yards. He led all pass catchers. I would love to see him on the field more.

Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme
Einstein replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unfortunately I still feel the same way. -
Never thought I’d say this. Sean McDermott is a stupid coach.

I saw a tweet today that really resonated with how I feel about McDermott. It said: McDermott is the type of coach that can take a bottom 5 roster to a wildcard but he’s also the kind of coach who will take a top 5 roster to the wildcard.- 344 replies

There are a lot of execution issues, which fall on the shoulders of the players, but there are also plenty of coaching issues as well. How does the announcer see the poor slant leverage by Taron Johnson the previous play, but our coaches don’t? Belichick and Co saw it, and immediately took advantage of it. I will always credit McDermott for turning this franchise around. But there are so many deficiencies that show up on coaching.- 344 replies

I think it affected him but I don’t think it’s why we lost. We scored 25 points against one of the greatest defensive minds to ever love. And we allowed 24 points to potentially the worst offense in the NFL.
-
The announcer called it the previous play. That the slant was open. The coaching staff couldn’t see it?
