  1. McD has his faults but I don't think a lack of hard work is one of them.
  2. “We went with players that we thought would help us win.” -Sean McDermott on playing Josh Norman and having Kaiir Elam inactive Says it all.
  3. I share this opinion with you. If DB2 is holding on the left side of the field and the QB never even looked that direction on a quick out to the right, does that really need to be called? In my opinion - no. If a player minorly grabs a facemask when the ball carrier is already 3/4 of the way to the ground, does that really need to be called? Again, in my opinion - no. Call fouls in instances that affect what happened on that play.
  4. As someone who writes AI scripts, we are not at the point where it could be used in a live game. Too much nuance. For example, you could set to calculate contact/distance in relation to the ball on PI, but it would be hard to have it understand the difference between minor hand checking and a foul. It would also take incredible computing power to do in real-time. There would also be holding called on the offensive line every play. Baseball is easy, because it is simply tracking one object against a pre-defined strike zone of minor variance in heights.
  5. Agreed. I understand the thinking behind the timeouts. Align your defense, get everyone on the same page, yada yada. But that doesnt take into account the flip side. The opponent is out of timeouts and they are reeling. They just had 3 unsuccessful plays in a row and now they're rushing to figure out the best play for a key 4th down that will keep the game alive and they only have 40 seconds to do it, and the linemen are waiting to hear the play so they can rush to the line and figure out what defensive front they are facing, and the QB still needs time to read the coverage, and the WR's need time to get set up, and the WR's are exhausted from running route after route after route, and their hearts are beating out of their chest, and everyone on offense is a bit frantic because the play clock is ticking fast, and it's crunch time, and then... we let them off the hook with a timeout. Time and gain. Instead of all that, the opponent gets to walk to the sideline and take a minute to figure out their best option. Their assistants have time in the booth to analyze what defense we have been running this series. Their linemen get to leisurely walk up to the line and calmly call out the front. Their QB gets to comfortably mosey up to the shotgun position and scan the defensive coverage. The WR's have time to rest and take a breather. Everything is slowed down. I hate the defensive timeouts because sure it helps us get aligned but it also takes away a lot of the stress from the offense. .
  6. He rushing from both left and right. Though primarily standing up and from a very wide angle.
  7. I'm working on a comparison match-up between last year and this week, with a stopwatch timing the ball of the snap. I think you'll be shocked. Video comparison I mean.
  8. It's not. He is considerably and noticeably slower off of the line.
  9. Exactly. I love it. But if Chris Brown said it… people would crush him for it. And “Fasten your seat belts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride!”
  10. Watch all of his snaps and you will see he is trying to time them. My hypothesis is that the is trying to make up for the lack of burst.
  11. I think he probably should have taken a corner angle to the sideline. I recall watching an NFL analyst probably a year or so ago (I think it may have been Brian Billick, former Ravens head coach) who was talking how our receivers were not helping Allen by continuing on with the dig instead of angling it into more of a corner route when there is a defender covering shallow. This particular play in NE was definitely underthrown regardless, but I remember seeing it often (his point) after he pointed it out. It’s a tough throw to judge to get over the shallow defender and if the receiver angles it into a corner route, it can be an easier target. I’ll try to find the analysis clip.
  12. It’s a bit over the top but I think people forget that Van Miller had some (what would be considered now cringey) statements like that. But it was endearing for some reason.
  13. Bills goal lines offense since the start of last season: #32 in efficiency/play #31 in TD rate #31 in points/drive Yet we keep trying the same things.
  14. Yeah it was actually the right read too. Allen just underthrew it and I think Knox also ran the route a bit too shallow. A bucket drop in the red box and it’s probably a completion.
  15. That’s the problem. McDermott is never going to be bad enough to be fired. But I fear he will also never be good enough to win us (or even get us to) a Super Bowl.
  16. I am completely tired of the defensive timeouts. Giving the offense time to come up with a play when they’re reeling has jumped the shark. And we are simply lucky Godwin didn’t see the ball on the hail mary or else we are 4-4.
  17. Absolutely unacceptable end to the game.
  18. I look forward to our next coach that doesn’t love defensive timeouts.
  19. What a waste of that kickoff penalty.
  20. Like clockwork. Why would you give the opponents offense rest (their WR’s have been running for literally 8 minutes straight), and time to collect their thoughts and come up with a play? I truly have never understood why.
  21. That drive had: 3 fourth down conversions 2 back breaking penalties 1 tipped pass two-point conversion.
  22. I absolutely HATE defensive timeouts in key situations.
  23. A past two Sundays. Bad.
  24. Not ideal when it takes your pass rushers 5+ seconds to get a sack.
  25. love all the people eye rolling my anemic crowd post. Do you have a different feed where the crowd is raucous? It’s like a morgue.
