This is the part that bothers me the most. And I 100% believe it because it jives with exactly what we all saw after 13 seconds. We all saw a head coach who REFUSED to talk about it. REFUSED to tell us what happened. REFUSED to take responsibility in any meaningful way. McKenzie publicly spoke out about how the coaches never even told the PLAYERS where the breakdown occurred. "Adversity reveals character in any field. Not only did McDermott insult the public by writing off 13 Seconds as an “execution” error. He never owned the defeat privately. He allowed it to linger, and that’s the danger with any trauma. There’s no way for anyone involved to move on unless it’s dealt with head-on. Unless the guilty party takes accountability. McDermott, as Go Long detailed, was the culprit. Yet when his decision to kick a touchback and his defense doomed Buffalo against the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the playoffs, there was zero accountability. To delusional proportions. One assistant coach remembers McDermott saying in the locker room that the offense scored too fast and left the Chiefs too much time. “It was such a ludicrous statement,” the coach said, “that it didn’t move the needle.” The next day, McDermott continued to point the finger. “You guys need to get away,” the assistant recalled the boss saying. “Recharge, reflect, and figure out what you can do better to avoid that happening again.” With that, he walked out of the room."

A company has developed a device that allows people to control their dreams for productive activities such as practicing for meetings or designing. The device uses focused ultrasound beams to activate decision-making and awareness regions of the brain involved in lucid dreaming. https://fortune.com/2023/11/30/lucid-dream-startup-prophetic-headset-prepare-meetings-while-sleeping/ https://propheticai.co/

In the heart of the entertainment world, amidst the glitz and glamour, there exists an enigma wrapped in a riddle, all encased in a flamboyant vest and topped with a signature hat. This figure is none other than the illustrious Dr. Teeth, the frontman and keyboard maestro of the Electric Mayhem. But who is Dr. Teeth, really? This exclusive exposé delves deep into the life of the Muppet world's most mysterious musician.

Devils advocate: This post reads like someone who has an agenda to defend McDermott and will rebuke any source (let alone 25 of them) that display any negativity toward him. It’s a common theme to discredit an article by stating that it’s for “clicks”. Which in this case is especially odd, since “for clicks” is a phrase that indicates that the author wrote something inflammatory to drive click-traffic that increases advertising revenue. But Dunne doesn’t get paid for clicks (he has zero ads). If the only source you would accept is McDermott himself telling you that he is doing a bad job, then of course you will never get that. You’ll never see Dick Jauron admit that either. If this was anyone but Dunne, perhaps the theory of the big-bad-reporter being out to hurt the head coach for a couple advertising dollars would have some merit. But Dunne is as respected as a reporter as one could possibly be. University respected. Reports of McD having a bit of an a-hole side has been around since he was hired. He famously went off on a reporter after a practice for writing a negative article. That being said - who are we going to get that’s definitively better? I struggle to think of anyone. I love Ben Johnson’s offense, but he is definitively going to be better as a HC? That’s impossible to answer.

What impressed me from that clip is how pointed the media from other cities is compared to ours.
-
Yeah I get it. I do wish one of the media members asked him why the difference in handling of situations. Would be curious to see how he responded.

His point was that if extending a contract that was restructured numerous times was a fix all then the only restraint on teams is the owners willingness to spend mash amounts of cash. And he’s correct
-
Would love to add that physicality.
-
What happens to prorated guaranteed money from a previous contract with an extension?
-
They pushed $110M into the future (aka, it will be due soon) and they got their all-pro retiring QB to not take the $25M he was due. They didn’t fix the problem. They delayed it. And got a gift from Brees.
-
Extending isn't a fix-all. People seem to think it is (because it creates a year or two of cap relief followed by crushing cap burden) but it just creates a new contract with even more money (current market rates). For example, the Chiefs extended Mahomes a couple months ago to create cap space for 2023, but it made $240M in cap due over the next 4 years. Which will then have to be restructured, creating $320M in cap burden, but they have space to push it because he has a 12 year contract. Fans seem to have this idea that you can just extend and "poof" problem fixed .. if that were the case every team would give gargantuan contracts to free agents to get them to the city and then constantly restructure them until they retire. Just not how it works.
-
Right and every bit of money restructured is immediately paid. Every time Allen is restructured to the tune of $20+ million, his cap hit the following seasons balloon. when you have a very long contract, like Mahomes, this is easy peasy. That’s why Veach brags about Mahomes 12 year deal. But Allen’s deal is half as long. Which is going to become a problem. He is worth every penny - don’t get me wrong - but it’s still something that will have to be accounted for.

For those wondering Greg is just a fan, like all of us. And the Bills are $42M over right now. Not $29M over. So all the numbers are off. Looks like he is using a faulty number from OTC - look at the balance sheet from Spotrac. I also call BS on them restructuring Diggs. Doing so would lock him here (with no possible way out) for the remainder, at a time when he has shown that he is not happy with the current state of the org. The rest of the moves are likely. He isn’t accounting for several things, starting with a wrong cap number. But I don’t think we are cutting Von. Apparently if you make a video with wrong information, people will eat it up.

A loss last night would have lowered their playoff odds to 2%. Id rather have a motivated team that has hope to go out and beat the opponents we need. They aren’t winning out, which is what they would need to get into the playoffs.
-
I don’t agree. We want Cinci to have hope for a playoff spot and parlay that into losses against teams ahead of us.
-
That seems counterproductive, no? We want the Bengals to have hope of a playoff spot in order to knock off some teams that are in our way. Losing tonight would have basically ended their hope.
-
That’s quite the logic. ”I think the Dolphins are going to the Super Bowl because they have gotten their teeth kicked in by the only good teams they’ve faced but they’ll beat a good team eventually”
-
I have no idea how that laughing giraffe got in there. Honestly no clue. But i’m leaving it because why not. Weird.

I truly don’t think it matters. Browning just played the game of his life but it’s doubtful he can replicate that over and over again. He just scored scored a whopping 10 points against the Steelers last week. Bengals have Colts, Vikings, Steelers, Chiefs and Browns left. There is minimum 2 more losses in there.
-
Its because they keep accepting the ball! Ive been banging this drum for so long. The only advantage of receiving the ball in OT is if you can score a TD on that drive. But scoring a TD on any given drive is a low %. There is a much greater chance that you force a field goal or a punt. When 2 out of 3 potentials leads to you getting the ball back with a chance to win, you take that.
-
I’ve said for a long time that unless you’re playing a great offense, kickoff in OT. You can force a FG attempt (or better yet, a punt) and win with a FG. The chances that a team scores a TD on any given drive is low.

Jags season might be over.

I miss the days when the only thing we knew about a players personal life was random bar rumors.
