  1. But this is exactly why we need a playoff... a team like Texas, who has been the joke of the Big XII for 10-11 years, was one "intentional grounding" call away from beating Alabama. A&M gets beat by Appy State.
  2. I'm posting my picks on the CFB Week (?) thread... so far I'm 4-2 ATS with my featured picks (9-7-1 overall picking all top 25 games). I used to run a professional handicapping website called "The Sports Bar". Established it in 1996 so I was one of the first in the world to have a handicapping website. Managed to get to build it to the size it was featured in preseason magazines, got to travel to Vegas to speak at conventions, etc. Then the DOJ said it's "illegal to gamble online" and shut down all my advertisers. Lost 90% of my business overnight and had to make a change in my life. Now, it's legal. Oh well...
  3. Teams like A&M get their ranking inflated because of the three letters "SEC" this season. Top to bottom, SEC isn't any better than any other conference at this point. Texas, who has been the joke of the Big XII for over a decade, was one safety away from winning that game. A&M loses at home to Appy State.

  7. Don't watch Fox News. Haven't in a long time. I have it bookmarked on my XM and on my work computer, along with CNN and MSNBC... but rarely watch/listen unless something major is happening in the world (Ukraine, natural disaster, shooting, etc).
  8. Which is way they've lost seats in the House. I would never want to live in California. What's amazing... the northern half of the state is very conservative and it's the big cities ruining it all. My fiancé is from a small town between Sacramento and Tahoe (not far from Firebaugh) and they are ALL conservative. Texas, Wyoming, New Mexico, Nevada is getting a surge of Californians.
  9. There's a reason California LOST congressional seats.
  10. Bills ball at their own 27 yard line.... Allen drops back, 4 man rush from the Rams, HITS DAWSON KNOX FOR A BILLS FIRST DOWN! Allen to Knox for 12 yards
  11. Week 2 selections (I'll try to keep up, picking every game, going by AP top 25 from 1-25). Games that are within 3 points of the spread, I wouldn't touch. This early, with my numbers... nearly every one of the dogs cover. Vegas did a good job with the spreads IMO. Highlighted games are ones with margins over 3 points) Texas +20 (Alabama wins by 14) Arkansas State +43.5 (tOSU wins by 37) Hawaii +51 (Michigan by 34) Appalachian State +19 (A&M by 16) Kent State +33.5 (OU by 28) Marshall +20.5 (ND by 19) Baylor +3.5 (Baylor by 9) UPSET Stanford +9 (USC by 7) Arizona State +11 (Oklahoma State by 10) Kentucky +5.5 (Florida by 3) Akron +34.5 (Michigan State by 31) S. 12. Less likely to vote... what? Yes, abortion is a major issue to the democrats... it's 14% of their concerns I think I posted the stat that was released? Data by VOX (a very leftist media source) said that before the Dobbs ruling, there were 450,000 voters "new young voters" almost split 50-50 (around 100,000 each) when it came to parties (ind. were the vast majority of regsitered voters) and post, the number at the time of the data was 52,000 new voters, around 10,000 GOP and 20,000 DNC (again, most were ind.).
  13. I agree... I can certainly see Texas lose something like 38-14 but I think UT talent is really higher than it has been the past few years. I see something like: Texas 20 Alabama 35
  14. I never said anything about abortion or women. I talked about what the main issues are to American voters right now and where the projections in Congress are looking.
  15. Did I say women? I said "number one issue" as in OVERALL to voters. Or are you going to do what you do best... assume things. The number one issue to voters is the economy. It normally is the number on issue in every election going back for a decade where terrorism and homeland secruity topped it all after 9/11. Gas prices, inflation, or other economic issues... those are THE biggest thing people worry about. In fact, here are the numbers via Quinnipiac: 34% economy 12% gun violence Nothing else is in double digits in regards to what voters care about. Breaking it down by party: GOP 48% economy 16% immigration Dems 22% gun violence 14% abortion 12% election laws 11% climate change Ind. 41% inflation (nothing else was in double digits)
  16. The whole thing is interesting to see play out. You have the people fed up with how the current administration is handling things (and have been) then you have the abortion side of things. We will find out soon enough which was more of a pressing issue.
  17. Dude, chill out. I never said anything about "pre" or "post" Dobbs. You are assuming abortion is the NUMBER ONE ISSUE in the election coming up. It's not. And my post last week was 100% what I said in my reply before. Those were the projections posted by Politico. Not me. They project a 226-209 seat advantage in the House. When I posted that, it had a slight edge to the GOP in the Senate. https://www.politico.com/2022-election/race-forecasts-ratings-and-predictions/

  19. tOSU fans.... (not going back all the posts the past few pages)... what did you think about Jim Knowles defense? Complete shutout in the 2nd half. That's exactly what he did at my OSU. The Pokes defense was THE BEST in the country last year (arguably) and HANDS DOWN the best in the 2nd half. No team was as good as Oklahoma State making halftime adjustments. Knowles is a master at it. Get these numbers.... in the 2nd half of the games last year for the Cowboys: @ Boise State: 0 points allowed K-State: 1 touchdown allowed Baylor (game 1): 2 touchdowns allowed. Ok State won by 10 @ Texas: 1 touchdown allowed, no points allowed the final 27 minutes Kansas: 0 points allowed Iowa State: 2 touchdowns allowed @ WVU: 0 points allowed TCU: 1 touchdown allowed @ Texas Tech: 0 points allowed (the entire game) OU: 0 offensive touchdowns allowed Baylor (Big XII championship): 0 points allowed Notre Dame (Fiesta Bowl): 1 touchdown allowed (with 65 seconds left) Only one game, the defense struggled in the 2nd half... that was against Iowa State in Ames. Every other game the defense practically destroyed the opp. offense. BTW: How the f*** does Ohio State win like they did and DROP in the polls?!?!? Total BS. I'm rooting for tOSU and my OSU this season. With Knowles there as well as Tanner McCalister (former Ok State grad transfer), it's hard to root against the Buckeyes!
  20. That's how I'm looking at it!
  21. I didn't miss anything. Last Thursday when I posted my reply, the numbers were as what I said. Those will change, like they did. Some people forget, over 1,000,000 democrats switched parties the past year due to the handling of covid by blue states. That is still something people haven't forgot... businesses closing down due to moronic policies by states like California.
  22. You're thinking of when TCU was in the Mountain West. They went 13-0 in 2011. Baylor and TCU were co-champs in 2014, both with one loss. But your point is dead on. Hell, recently with UCF... they were 13-0 in 2017 and beat the likes of Auburn, who just played in the SEC championship game after beating #1 Alabama. UCF deserved a shot at the title. Oklahoma State deserved a shot in 2011. TCU did in 2011. I don't think it's too difficult to do a 12-team playoff. Top 4 get a bye, first 2 games could be home to the higher seed (or make round 2 a neutral site). Then play the final 4 as they are now, NY6 bowl game locations.
  23. We can! lol Thing is, many people who are for gun control (or more of it) have little to no understanding on firearms or the laws we currently have, let alone how you go through buying one. I've said it on the Guns thread... we have people, on both sides, who have no clue. My dad, a devout conservatives, even thought things like "You can get a gun at a gun show and they don't require any background checks at those shows, unlike a gun shop... and... you can convert a firearm to a machine gun by changing a button." Even Fox News gets firearm stuff completely wrong more often than right.
  24. I've brought this up before as well.... the "should not play long schedules like the NFL" is a moot point. Georgia and Alabama played 15 games last season (which was the extreme number in the country). The Atlanta Falcons played 17. You can remove the moronic "middle of the season vs a tiny school" from the SEC schedules and kick that number down to 14 games (including post-season). Alabama played NM State and Mercer last year (NM State towards the end of the year). Georgia played Charleston Southern. Tennessee played South Alabama. Ole Miss played Liberty. Get rid of a non-conference game or two, across the board. Yea, it will effect smaller schools like Arkansas Pine-Bluff with money from the game, but are we going to hang on to those games instead of trying to put together a REAL NCAA championship? Only sport that doesn't have one. That needs to change IMO. We can easily make it a 10 game regular season. Used to do that YEARS ago. Totally agree brother. We are passionate college football fans and we both love our Bills.
