  1. He's for abolishing the Bill of Rights.
  2. The picks that stood out to me didn't do great this week, 2-5. The one I bet on that really stood out was Texas -11, so I managed to win money. Game looked so easy before it started, not so much after! Should have put money on OU and USC as well.
  3. That's too bad. I really like the guy, thought he'd do great at Arizona State. He's had a winning record every year (minus the short covid season where he went like 2-2) but this season. Not sure if ASU would ever be a powerhouse program. Only 5 seasons of 10 or more wins the past 40+ years. Watched the ASU v OSU game in Stillwater a week ago and they looked decent in the first half.
  4. Not a good week for my formula system... my favorite game that I bet on did cover, somehow (Texas). Didn't look that way for a loooong time. Week 4 will be posted soon. WEEK: 9-10 FEATURED WEEK: 2-5 SEASON: 18-17-1 ATS FEATURED SELECTIONS: 6-7 ATS
  5. If Oklahoma State can build a program that went 0-10-1 (1991, I was there every home game) to a team on the cusp of the CFP (10th most wins in college football since like 2007)... Nebraska can come back to be a dangerous team. Just takes the right coach with the right mindset for the program (Saban, Gundy, Dabo, Fitzgerald, etc.)
  6. Maybe... if our team had another tragedy take place the same day of the game like we did before the Iowa State game. OSU lost 2 coaches (head coach and assistant basketball coach) in a plane crash the DAY OF THE FOOTBALL GAME. I know Justin Blackman's family pretty well. His sister graduated with my oldest daughter at Plainview (OK). I know Warren (his dad) and mother, who teaches at Ardmore public schools (I'm a school counselor at the HS). That seriously hit the team, hard. They were VERY close to the basketball team and the coaches. So sure, it's possible. But that year, the OSU snub, was a main reason we have the 4 team playoff today... and it's why I'm 100% fore an even more expanded playoff system. LSU averaged 37 ppg that year, had a sub-20 points against Miss State as well... but they were two TOTALLY different offenses. OSU wasn't a run first offense like LSU. We threw it. A lot. We had the two time Biletnikoff Award winner (IMO, the best WR to play in 25 years in college) and our offenses put up scores of 70, 66, 61, 59 and 52 that year. The biggest issue (besides we will never know) is there was a chance to see a team who was a "in the trench" team (LSU) vs the Big XII "Air raid" team and they put another boring game... a rematch... in the final. No, OSU would have played Alabama in the semi-finals. We were barely 3rd place... 0.086 behind Alabama.
  7. Yes, ND scored 28 points in the first half. They were practically shut down in the 2nd. And they wouldn't have beat UGA last year. I'm not saying that, but they would have been able to hang with them. Both teams would have put on a defensive show.
  8. OSU and UGA having the top 2 defenses last season... that's not an opinion. That's a fact. In many of those "2nd half shutouts", teams struggled to score anything in the 1st half. In fact, OSU didn't allow a TD in 3 of the final 6 games of the year. At all.
  9. Since there is no NCAA trophy awarded, no real playoff... it's been called "Mythical" for decades. You new to college football? As for the 2011 team, we will never know. That's why we needed an expansion of the BCS or a Playoff. That's one of the MAIN reasons why we have it now... the 2011 season and OSU getting screwed over. You clearly didn't watch much of the 2011 OSU season if you think we wouldn't be able to move the ball. Near 50 points per game and the last half of the season, was closer to 60 ppg. Alabama didn't win their conference, Alabama didn't even win their own division. Alabama had a crap resume compared to Oklahoma State that year. We've talked about this before. TEAM A Beat #10, #11, #17, #22 and #25 during the regular season Beat 7 total bowl bound teams with winning records Jeff Sagarin's Conference Power Rank: #1 SOS: 6th Won Conference Championship LONE LOSS: On the road in doubt OT TEAM B Beat #8 and #21 teams during the regular season Beat 3 total bowl bound teams with winning records Sagarin's Conference Power Rank: #2 SOS: 29th Did not play in conference championship LONE LOSS: At home in OT Take team names out... only a Alabama homer would say "TEAM B! TEAM B!"
  10. My team... the Golden Taints. I'm fairly weak at RB and Mike Williams has me so confused and scared to start him again. QB: Josh Allen RB: Antonio Gibson RB: Cordarrelle Patterson WR: Tyreek Hill WR: Gabe Davis TE: Dawson Knox FLEX: Ezekiel Elliott D/ST: Tampa Bay K: Tyler Bass BE QB: Daniel Jones RB: Rachaad White WR: Julio Jones WR: Mile Williams WR: Russell Gage WR: George Pickens WR: Marquez Valdes-Scanting Looks a lot like my team (just posted it)
  11. But it's not just about last year. Look at the Final AP top 25 going back years. We usually have the same 3-4 teams in the top 4, but there are times (more often than not) a team was a "almost in" or "we will never know" outside looking in. 2018 Ohio State 2017 UCF 2017 Wisconsin 2015 Ohio State 2015 Houston 2014 TCU 2013 Michigan State 2012 Oregon 2011 Oklahoma State I just don't see how more football is in issue. We can reduce meaningless non-conference games for power 5 programs v FBS teams all together. Reduce it to 2 non-conference games for each program. Max. You're only then adding another game to a team who wins the NCAA Championship... and again, we can crown a TRUE NCAA championship, not just a mythical one. I agree completely about schedule and conference reform. We can do all three.
  12. That's your opinion. Who had the best defense(s) in the NCAA last year? Georgia and Oklahoma State. OSU managed to shut out practically EVERY TEAM they played last year in the 2nd half. Historically, OSU would have to (and usually are able to) score 40-50 points per game. Last year? No. You saw it first hand as a Notre Dame fan. What did the Pokes do to the Irish in the 2nd half of the Fiesta Bowl? Now, would OSU had beat UGA last year? I don't know. Probably not... but it would damn sure be nice to have a chance. And in 2011, Oklahoma State would have beat both LSU and Alabama. Neither of those teams would have stopped the OSU offense. No team could. There is *nothing* anyone can say to make be feel otherwise. Better resume that entire season than Alabama. So you don't think Baylor or Oklahoma State would have had a chance vs UGA or Alabama last year?
  13. But a team like Oklahoma State, Baylor, Notre Dame (last year teams)... could.
  14. I keep saying it, they do it for NCAA basketball, baseball, hockey, softball, etc., etc.. They do it for every level of NCAA (and smaller) except FBS (Division I). NCAA DI football can do it if FBS (DII), Division III, NAIA and NJCAA can all do it. Besides, how it would be set up... you'd have either homefield advantage the first round or a bye. Alabama, UGA, Cincy and Michigan would have played at home last year in round one before going to one of the "Final Four" NY6 bowl sites.
  15. Vegas is getting closer to my spreads that I adjust each week... one that stands out? Texas -13.5 vs UTSA. I have them winning by 35 points. These are EARLY lines from 9/12. Highlighted are spreads off by 5 or more at the time of this post. South Carolina +24.5 (UGA by 18) UL Monroe +49 (Alabama by 44) Toledo +31.5 (tOSU by 25) UCONN +47 (Michigan by 35) LA Tech +33 (Clemson by 32) Oklahoma -13.5 (Oklahoma by 14) USC -12.5 (USC by 13) Washington -3 (Washington by 3) - NO BET Oregon -3.5 (Oregon by 5.5) Miami-U +5 (Texas A&M by 4) San Diego State +21 (Utah by 20) Akron +47.5 (Tennessee by 42) NC State -9.5 (NC State by 9.5) - NO BET Florida -25 (Florida by 25.5) Liberty +16.5 (Wake Forest by 14.5) Georgia Tech +14.5 (Ole Miss by 14) Texas -13.5 (Texas by 35) Penn State -3 (Penn State by 10.5) Western Michigan +12 (Pitt by 9) Georgia 42 South Carolina 24 UL Monroe 13 Alabama 57 Toledo 9 Ohio State 34 UCONN 16 Michigan 51 LA Tech 14 Clemson 46 Oklahoma 35 Nebraska 21 Fresno State 27 USC 40 Michigan State 24 Washington 27 BYU 26 Oregon 32 Miami 31 Texas A&M 35 San Diego State 28 Utah 48 Akron 13 Tennessee 55 Texas Tech 23 NC State 32 South Florida 16 Florida 41 Liberty 26 Wake Forest 41 Ole Miss 34 Georgia Tech 20 UTSA 7 Texas 42 Penn State 39 Auburn 28 Pittsburgh 36 Western Michigan 27 Florida should be fine this week. I have them covering the spread, barely. Picked them to win 41-16
  16. Sports betting isn't race, as you know. 11-6 is great. Handicappers who can hit 60% during the season are best of the best.
  17. Thanks. I think she'll be okay I think... was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. She's out of the hospital now, but can't feel her legs. It's weird. But I was getting updates from my girls, since they're worried about her. Both my kiddos are in college (one in Boston and one at Ole Miss).
  18. Home is 3 hours away, lol. But yea... I get that. I turned it on because I have two kids and their mother (I'm happily divorced) has been in ICU.
  19. Well, I'm going to lose 181.25 to 181.55 because Mike Williams saw basically no targets until the final drive of the game and Dallas put Zeke on the bench for nearly the entire 2nd half last night... despite carrying it 9 times for 50 yards vs Pollard's 6 times for 8 yards. Freakin' sucks!
  20. UPDATE They took our phones, locked them into a bag and only allowed us access in a certain area outside the concession stands. I got to watch the first half of the game at the Bar inside the BOK Center in Tulsa, on the big screen. I didn't touch my phone until they unlocked it on our way out the door, by that time the game was over. I managed to avoid ALL news/internet/TV until then. And my dad? Text me "What a Bills blowout!". Sh*t, I tried to avoid everything but my dad f'ed it up. But it was a relief in a way, knowing we dominated the game and won. As for Bill Burr? HOLY SH*T, he was epic. I *rarely* smoke, maybe once a year? My fiancé does it every evening before bed and I took one hit off her "pen". Since I'm a major lightweight, it hit me BIG. It was hot inside the arena, so add that to the 'high', I was feeling horrible. Then Burr's opening act came out... Bianca Cristovao from the Czech Republic and she was HORRIBLE. There was NOTHING funny about her. So I thought, "Is it the high I'm having or is it this chick? It's going to SUCK if Burr comes out and I feel like this." Well, it was her. Darci (my GF) and I were in TEARS for the entire show. He tried to read the room, prodding with topics like guns, abortion, immigration, etc. since Oklahoma is a very RED state. He couldn't figure out where to take the show, so he was at a loss. He made some joke about England and brought up the Queen, which her death had nothing to do with his joke... the crowd did a "Ooooooooooooo" and he was stunned. He said something like, "WHAT THE F*CK? 6000+ miles from England people from Tulsa gives a flying f*ck about the Queen of England? Who would have thought THAT would be the subject to get you guys going." Burr was genius and I'm SO glad I went. Don't pass up the chance to see him live.
  21. You haven't seen much of Baker Mayfield then...
  22. Not worried about the Chargers too much. They could have lost at home to the freakin' Raiders. No one but Tampa would have me worried and that's only because of the GOAT. AFC 1. Kansas City 2. Indy (Because we've struggled against them) 3. Cincy 4. Denver (pending) 5. LA Chargers 6. Baltimore 7. Las Vegas NFC 1. Tampa Bay (because of TB12) 2. Los Angeles (not really)
  23. Ole Miss, Kentucky and UGA might be the best 3 teams in the SEC this year.
  24. Glad you feel that way. I don't think we need to give more guns to more criminals like your friend in Memphis, but unfortunately there's little we can do to stop these thugs from getting them on the streets from other thugs.
  25. Criminal gang members.... not GOP'ers. These are your type of peeps BillStime. The people who carry out most "mass shootings". Gangs.
