My friend's wife got pissy because he didn't watch the Super Bowl so she could see Tay Tay and Travis. All the non-Bills fan women at work were wearing Chiefs crap to work on the Friday before the game as well. I haven't wanted a relationship to end so hard that didn't involve anyone I know in person.

I used to torrent whole discographies of bands before services like Spotify came around. Now I can not only access at least 80% of the music I've ever bought or "stole" but get access to various suggested artists, app generated playlists, etc. all in one place. Legally. Meanwhile the NFL is trying to get its money not from actual viewership, which would be easy as hell if it was all in one streaming service, but from licensing games to every goddamn streaming service it can. That way they don't even have to care about viewership for another few years because they already got paid by 20 different corporations. If anything, the NFL isn't losing squat from piracy. The streaming services are the ones who'd lose money from it. But those same services chose to pay in advance for the "privilege" of showing a live major league sporting event for the slim chance they can get a few more idiots to sign up for their 18th paid streaming service. It's a bubble that's long overdue to pop.

I thought this was one of the bands I'd never get to see live. As soon as I saw he retired from politics and got the band back together I flipped out and raced down to visit my best friend who lives about 40 minutes north of Philly and went to see them in Glenside. The best part was I was checking their previous set lists and was a little sad I didn't see their epic "Jimmy Sharman's Boxers", a song about an indentured group of indigenous men that this jerk would take around the country and auction off for boxing matches against the highest bidder. I figured it was too deep a cut. Then halfway through the show I heard the beginning of it and got chills. Fantastic smaller venue show with a band that would've been on my bucket list forever if they hadn't broken up.

There used to be a Subway near where I worked downtown that was always playing the local rap station and at lunchtime they'd do an old-school block for an hour. Numerous times I'd be greeted by that song playing and always had to say CRUMBS at the end.

My grandma died after the Bills blew their second Super Bowl, my dad died after the fourth failure and my brother died a year before the drought ended. And sadly nothing has changed since they left.

Not bothering to watch and letting yourself be emotionally kicked in the balls with a running start every year sounds like a correct option. At least I had more free time during the drought and one less thing to make me hate life.

So much for dodging the Eagles. No breaks at all this season for the Lombardi.

I know at least one wife who is in the same boat. Man I can't wait for Travis to get dumped. He's not Travis Kelce, football player to most of the world, he's just "Taylor's boyfriend".
