  1. I feel better, because odds are we will not have the kind of adversary we had in 2022 and if we do, this team will be better prepared for it. I have confidence in the front office and I think we made more moves than anticipated given the salary cap restraints. This roster has depth and we are going to cut some people that can start on bottom rosters. My overall is that the D-Line and Secondary will be much better. LB is a big? But a good pass rush and good back end can negate a lot of that. A big plus will be McDermott being more aggressive on D. I hated Frazier's play calling with the talent they had on D last year. Offense is going to be better too. We plugged holes on the OL and that's where it starts. We are better in the slot. Better at RB and Josh is... JOSH. As long as he is focused and healthy, we are going to be in the thick of a championship run. The schedule looks like a bear and it probably will be. Our division is way tougher than any other in the AFC. But it's nice not to be the anointed one's going in. Put a chip on your shoulder and your nose to the grindstone, don't take anyone for granted and we got a real shot! The key as always is to be healthy for the playoffs. Last year we gimped in and it caught up to us. The other thing I like is that we got BIGGER. We had too many lightweights in the trenches and that weak spot was cleaned up. I'm pretty excited to see what McDermott dials up on D and the progression of Josh and Dorsey heading into year 2. I think they learned a lot and will apply it to the offense and we will see a more balanced, less reliance on Josh to run kind of offense.
  2. I'm having Charles Clay flashbacks.
  3. They go to New England.
  4. I like it. Take the spotlight off us and throw it on the Jets and Phins. Give our boys some motivation of feeling passed over.
  5. Ah. the 1976 Team photo. I think I see OJ.
  6. The other thing is that Beane went for the "sure hands" guys. I think the worst drop percentage of any of these receivers was at 5% and some with 1%. Big guys that can go up in traffic and get the ball. Between McKenzie, Knox and Gabe there were a lot of dropped passes that should have moved the chains. I think the tape showed that and the Mc'Beans decided it was an area of weakness that needed to be addressed. I think we addressed every weakness so far. I know LB is a question mark but Williams is known for his coverage, instincts and sure tackling. Something that Edmonds was not. Also Simpson and Sanders were not known as consistent tacklers, so I think we worked to address that area too. You won't just run down the middle of the field on us.
  7. He's not taking away from Hines. Hines is not your 3rd and 1, 3rd and 2 guy or even 1st and 10 run. He'll take away touches from Harris and that's okay. Keeps guys fresh for the end of the year.
  8. 6'3" 230lb. He's the biggest back in the room and still has some speed and juice in the tank. A crafty veteran who has been around and will help the RB room with his experience. He's insurance in case of injury and can grind out tough yards that will save wear and tear on Cook and Harris. It's another weapon to be deployed.
  9. OL is better Safety is better. WR's are better. QB is better (Allen > Keenum) CB should be better with Elam and Bedford gaining experience, Trey recovered. Jury is out on DL/LB. But I think we may bring in some vets here soon. Overall, the team looks improved. The question will be if the Jets/Dolphins improved enough to pass us.
  10. We don't have a 4th, so if he was on the radar, I guess we pulled the trigger. Big run on LB's in this round.
  11. CBS gave us an A on the pick. People like his instincts, work ethic and football smarts.
  12. Would you prefer Dylan Mulvaney announce the pick with a Bud Light.
  13. Damn it! We should have traded up and got Simpson. He's a Raven type of defensive player. They must love Spector
  14. he makes great catches then drops easy ones.
  15. I was happy with Kincaid but was hoping for Torrence. This is the best of both worlds. I did not see either of these guys dropping to the Bills in Rd. 2. 100% smiles tonight. If somehow we land Simpson or Sanders in the 3rd, I will do backflips. At this point I would trade up to nail one of these LB's. After that we are set and extra picks are just luxury crapshoots.
  16. On paper, we are better on offense. If Dorsey can create and call the right plays, we can be top #5 in the league no problem. Josh getting the ball out quicker will help, so OL really needs to step up. If we are solid in the trenches, then its top #2
  17. Thanks all. So if Rodgers plays this year and under this deal then there's still 50m that needs to be paid out. So can he sign a 3-4 year extension and spread that into a signing bonus and if he is cut or retired, then only the bonus money counts on the hit? Would that be the case to count 15-20m for a few years if he doesn't play or are the "void years" basically the same without committing base pay to him?
  18. Hey Cap Wizards, I just saw this article on Rodgers contract? https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jets-trade-for-aaron-rodgers-why-ex-packers-qb-is-currently-set-to-make-more-than-107-million-in-2024/ If Rodgers is set to make 1.7m against the cap this year and move 57m off the books, how does that not bite the Jets next year. He's set to count 107m against the cap in 2024 Can they move it to a signing bonus set over 5, 10, 20 years to lighten the hit. No way does Rodgers not get his $$$. What's the play here and does anyone have scenarios how this could play out.
  19. If this happens, my guess is that it's after the first round. Beane will see how the board falls. If the stud OL/LB/TE that they are targeting drops then he takes that player and makes the trade for a second. If a stud WR drops, he may pick up the WR and pass on the deal or offer a 3rd, knowing there are not a lot of suitors.
  20. With only 6 picks this year, we may end up being pretty active signing UDFA's. I know every year people are clamoring for certain guys so I thought it may be good to make a list of guys to look out for who may drop out of the draft. It will make Day 3 interesting. WR: https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Bryce-Wheaton-WR-WestVirginia Crazy measurable, could be worth a flyer if he drops. https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Dontayvion-Wicks-WR-Virginia My buddy who's a Hokie fan loves this guy. TE: https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Zack-Kuntz-TE-PennState An athletic freak. https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Noah-Gindorff-TE-NorthDakotaState Project https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Mason-Fairchild-TE-Kansas Big kid with solid hands. OL https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Alex-Forsyth-OL-Oregon A flyer on a Morse replacement https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Warren-McClendon-OL-Georgia Seems like a smart kid who can be coached up I'll hit up the defense later. There's a lot of great insight at https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com.
  21. For what it is, I'm pretty happy with the off-season so far. We did what we could given the tight cap and overall I think we improved at OL, S, RB. The open holes now are WR, LB and possible DL reinforcements. If the Wizard can get Hop here, we can address LB/OL in the draft and get pretty stacked for another run. Looking forward to next weekend!
  22. Feels like Shaq 2.01. I think they did a firmware update on his twitch.
  23. Catfish Hunter. 7th Round flyer. They are bringing him in as a QB for Terrell Owens. It's age appropriate.
