  1. Likely they use the Playoff Caliber until the team actually secures a playoff berth any given year then they have a team ceremony where they swap them out with that years Championship Caliber placards.
  2. Why would a number change make a coach unhappy? Unless that coach has that players jersey as a fan, even then he probably gets any jersey he wants free so again no reason a coach would be upset over a number change.
  3. Seems with the limited practice times these days the qbs don't have the time to work with the LS and kicker to practice the holding. I suppose a good ps qb could work on his own to get holding placement down first then try to get with the LS and kicker on their own time to work on it, but you'd have to have all 3 players willing to do it.
  4. I take lack of tackling when they are still in college not as critical as many of these kids just want to do well and get drafted. While getting a free college education is nice it doesn't offset loss of potential earning if they should suffer any major injury, so the less physical players may just be self preservation to get to the NFL healthy.
  5. I kinda like the standards are so high to make the team and really any UFDA that has the confidence to compete with the talent we have probably means they are pretty decent and the lessor athletes weed themselves out by signing elsewhere.
  6. Dunno. Just think how well McBeane has turned around Bills into contenders lot of eyes watching what they do drawing attention to players we'd like to stash. Hard to be low profile when you are doing things right and are the current model for succeeding.
  7. It all depends on whether his doesn't tackle was him protecting from an injury while he was only getting a free college education. Can be he didn't want to risk his shot at getting drafted by injuring himself while not getting paid. Yes a college education is worth effort but if he's got draftable talent I can understand not going all out risking his shot at a NFL contract. Gilmore just didn't seem like he felt he needed to earn what money he was being paid. He just came across as seeming to feel entitled.
  8. Guess he'll have to hope the Browns trade for him then huh?
  9. Hmm, think we got Thurman Thomas because he was supposed to be a 2nd rounder back in the day? If he's that good but does drop its due to teams hedging over the injury and not willing to wait 9n him to get well. Bills are very fortunate 8n that they don't really have many glaring needs so they can be a bit more patient. I also think the Bills have historically had good medical evaluations and if they sign off on his recovery then that's good enough to grab him there if he falls.
  10. The same naysayers would have had us still hoping and wishing for the drought to end here in Buffalo because there's no way they would have been drafting Josh because QBs don't improve accuracy issues once they enter the NFL from college ranks. Josh had way less college success at his position than this short armed cornerback who manages to overcome his physical shortcoming by intelligently leveraging the skills he has. If he scores well on his wonderlic than that easily could negate the arm measurements. Note: just read that wonderlic is no longer being used in combine testing so I guess RAS will be the way to seperate the prospects ceilings and of course if your team has excellent interviewing skills to help seperate the contenders from pretenders in drsfts.
  11. Well any player who is afraid to get hurt likely ends up hurt with higher frequency than if they just play the game as they know how to play it. Harder to be a success in any field and in life if your constantly fearful. Being intelligent and mindful of risks to avoid most injuries is all you can do when you play a sport that is as violent in nature as football. You don't see baseball players all wearing masked helmets to protect from getting drilled in the head with a line drive hit that could cause serious injury. Batters do because the higher risk but otherwise as long as they are paying attention their reflexes will usually be sufficient to avoid any major injury though of course there's always risk to any activity. I have a fear of extreme heights so I'd never go skipping along the edge of the grand canyon for a closer look down the rim at any point along the canyon. While a non fearful person is still at risk they are at less risk than myself or any other vertigo sufferers of potential injury due to fear not clouding their judgment, which has a decided effect on the skill in traversing that edge safely. It also doesn't mean Josh should disregard caution and eliminate a very productive element if his game. Without his running ability we could probably throw out a good 50% of his WOW plays as even many of his unbelievable passes are end results of his scrambling abilities. The rest of the team knows not to give up with Josh as QB because they know until the whistle ends a play Josh may finish the play and in unpredictable and indefensible ways.
  12. No doubt there are other QBs that are talented but not with the full range of abilities that Josh has. All the other talented qbs have more weaknesses than Josh. Even a blind Kyler Murray finds a hail Mary throw now and then so yes I don't claim that they won't make some plays on our defense. Just the fact they practice against the unicorn daily gives them a bigger edge when the lesser qbs try to go off script they will luck into a play or 2 but I'm not sweating those odd moments because Josh has those type of plays so frequently we are really spoiled. The team is really just learning to trust those plays are the normal and that they just need to take care of business and there's few teams that will go toe to toe with them. The odd time the other team makes some plays I fully expect Josh and the offense to answer in convincing fashion. That demoralized the opponents seeing Josh shred their defense that they start to press a bit and think that makes them easier to defend so our defense doesn't need to be the best to get the job done.
  13. True much of their ranking is due to the circumstances they faced. However, I like the range of circumstances opponents will face throughout Josh Allen's career. He sets up his defenses to just need to keep things in front of them and playing with the lead more often than not sets them up to continue their ranking because they have the luxury of knowing they got an offense that can match up with any in the league. It's so much easier to shutdown an offense when they have to take chances to hopefully keep up with what Josh can do. Our defenses will rarely have to deal with Josh Allen like plays from.opposing QBs but on the odd plays they manage something Josh-like well our boys get lots of practice making plays against those types of plays so think they get an edge there.
  14. I'd have liked the Bills to have drafted Ben at the time. However being accused of rape on 2 seperate occasions makes me glad he wasn't a Bill. I don't know if the accusations are true, but I prefer better conduct from players that represent my favorite team. I like that Josh is more about spending his free time working on his game to get better and also improving his family's farming so they all benefit years from now as well. He also isn't chasing endorsements but when one dies present itself he insists it also carries a charitable donation to the Patricia Allen Foundation. WNYers are hardworking but very generous to causes that are worthy of that generosity and I like my teams to be full of players that share that trait. Looking back at that draft wish we could have gotten Phillip Rivers I think he was a better fit for Buffslo and think that could have been a great partnership.
  15. I don't think trading Edmunds is gonna happen. I don't think he's lived up to his hype but he hasn't been totally worthless. I'm curious to see how he plays now we got a legit pass rusher that will certainly keep the qb focused on not being sacked. Easy to lose track if anemones when fearing the Von. I'm expecting alot more balls tossed up to avoid a sack and it will be interesting how Frazier adapts the defense with this wrinkle. I don't necessarily think Edmunds will suddenly turn a corner but it's not impossible either with a different mix of pressure might give Edmunds more freedom to roam and finally produce like we've all wanted. If he does turn the corner that would make for some interesting decisions next offseason. We could sign him to a team friendly deal if he is wanting to remain a Bill, if not we could trade him for a nice package of picks and not be too heartbroken as he only matched or exceeded expectation in 1 year and contract year to boot. If he doesn't play much better they could move him at trade deadline or just let him walk after the season. And never know he may understand realize his play isn't top pay caliber and re-signs for a deal that is fair for his production.
  16. Yes because if Josh was an arrogant jerk I would cheer the results of his play but I wouldn't be a fan of his. I do expect a certain level of conduct for people I root for. The question is would Josh be the same if he had to go through a different set of circumstances. He gets drafted by the Jets does he end up like our Josh, like Darnold or is he showing signs but that staff doesn't nurture and build the strengths up and he just remains a up/down player. I think he'd have shown steady improvement, but having the support he has had from the start in Buffalo makes it likely he's just a tad better in Buffalo than elsewhere. But being he's such a good guy that shows regardless of if your a Bills fan or root for another team. I wouldn't auto cheer that team to do well, but I'd still cheer on Josh as far as playing stats and hoping he loses when It's best for bills.
  17. Indeed seems like a good deal gamblers paying of the states share, but the money is generated in wny. Rather it spent on wny stuff than funding upstate on something I won't likely use.
  18. It really depends on what the facts are. What set her off and is she acting like a Karen or was it something else. I can speculate a few scenarios which would make her action understandable and excusable. Without any facts can't tell if she was in the wrong or the wronged party.
  19. Yea its easy to say for a bump in pay he should be happy. If he getting beaten up constantly injured even if they are relatively minor. You want to retire with best quality of life after football. Less damage u take during playing days makes a big difference as you age.
  20. And his body gets more wear and tear. What good is getting a new 25 million a year deal for 1 yr franchise tag, then get beat up to where you got to walk away. But get traded to a team that will let him be a part of their receiving weapons not the main focus and he accepts a low 16 m per year for 5 yrs that earns him 80m and less wear and tear.
  21. Yea I just really meant that if we got the new Thurman then this team could just do as they pleased and no one would stop them. I don't think there is any one that could be a new Thurman. I don't follow college enough to know what talent is out there. Singletary doesn't need to be Thurman. We got Josh and running is just a change up.
  22. Well no we wouldn't since we don't have Thurman in his prime Bills days.
  23. Basically I took it as Von loves watching Josh play so much. He wants to escort the opponents offense off the field so he can get back to his front row seat to watch more. He wants to play for years yet and a nice rotation keeps his wear and tear down.
  24. He may very well be telling his agent he'll accept a team friendly deal. It's just not a hard position to find a serviceable player when they have such a good passing game. If they got a Thurman Thomas clone they would have milked the winning drive leaving no time for kc to tie the game.
  25. They could really get something cooking. And plenty of room for side dishes so other players can add on. BBQ from Mckenzie, maybe some spicy salsa from Gabe Davis. The other receiving weapons and rbs could combine for some scrambled eggs dishes. There could be a yearly Bills recipe book sold for fundraising to the various player causes. every new year they just add new recipes to add into a binder or just a new book each year. Bills Msfia always hungry for good tailgating food ideas. And if it helps the kids and other causes it's Win Win. .
