Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.
AuntieEm replied to Locomark's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm sure the nfl offices will consult with the rules committee to figure out some fair method that is as fair to all the teams as much as they can. How they deal with this might make things better for player safety going forward as there might be less tolerance for letting little extra hits from some of the more chippy players to be left unchecked. Not saying that occurred in the Hamlin injury as it didn't even appear to be a overly hard collision between the players. Seemed fairly routine as far as tackles go. -

Yea only the players that are viewed by the coaches and team gms as franchise QBs are offered those deals and even then not all those assessments are correct or something happens that derails that players potential. Trent Edwards looked like the game was slowing down for him when he suffered some concussions that made him capt checkdown and then capt checked out. This injury may just have many players reassess if they want to keep playing. Maybe they need to test new types of protective gear that can absorb some of the force from these impacts. Might need some of those fully padded sumo suits. And the mark Kelso kazoo helmet. -
Yea no one knows what happened other than he stopped breathing and they had to perform cpr. Seems like they have him stabilized and he is undergoing tests to try to establish possible damage and then take steps that may be needed. When he awakens again they will have ability to access if he suffered any loss of memory, simple knowledge etc. And take the appropriate course of his rehab. He may have little issue coming back from this while any of the players that witnessed it may be more impacted going forward.
-
Doubt they will know much for awhile. There may have been some damage to parts of his brain when he had trouble breathing. All depends how effective the cpr was to keep oxygen supplied to his brain. Likely some damage but there is alot of redundant areas of the brain that may not cause any difficulty in a full recovery. It depends on what part of brain was affected. I had a stroke over 31 years ago and I lost the mobility of my left side but I never lost my sense of touch so technically was paralyzed but I never considered myself as such. I regained use of my left side through therapy and rehab. I have no unexplainable gaps in my memories or things I've learned prior to my stroke, though if I had lost some memories I wouldn't know they were missing. So I truly pray that any damage that may have occurred happened to an area that his brain still hadn't been using or held no vital memories that the young man has. If he simply loses some knowledge how to do things those can be relearned and basically a setback but not devastating like forgetting who loved ones are or memories that cannot be restored. So my prayers are he has all the abilities and memories he had before this injury.

Depends on his salary demands if they can agree to a figure the team and poyer's wife can live with he comes back. If not he signs with another team and for his efforts as a Bill I'd be happy if he manages to play well thru another contract. I'd welcome him back at a price that the team can work with. But if he wants more than they feel they can pay then he walks. Certainly hope he gets a ring with the Bills this year as he's earned it.

No one ever said he wouldn't see what he gets offered. Heck only players who should not get to see any offers are the bonafide elite players. At the moment there are quite a number of young QBs that can be eligible for the guaranteed 2nd contract at fqb rates. It gets tricky when you cannot be sure if it's the qbs talent or the coaching and team around them thats the catalyst for the teams success. I'm saying yes he will get paid but I suspect it will be more likely a incentive team friendly deal because certainly to this point I'd gamble more on. Dabolls ability to develop an offense around teams talent over Jones thriving in any system based on his body of work thus far since HD was drafted. -

That's why it's easy to work with Josh's cap in future. Being a legit HIM FQB he will earn plenty on all the side endorsements his play attracts. As he leads the Bills team to success in the SB and being that Josh is Josh heschonna becswamped with endorsements and he won't be worried about taking less to help team sign good players. -

Does not matter what he views himself as. He could believe he's the new Tom Brady but when he sees what offers he's generating it will be his deciding what's best for him going forward. It may not even involve playing football going forward. -

And while Daniel Jones the rookie came into the NFL sure he could play in the big league. He has had a chance to see he isn't this world class top qb worthy of a huge contract. For all I know he can't wait to clean out his locker after the season and retires. Not all players want to keep playing and I'm really glad Josh is so in love with playing football. As soon as he stops enjoying it will likely be the start of his skills declining because I think it's his joy that gets him going as well as getting the team behind him. -

That's because it is plainly evident that Josh is the leader of this team and a big reason they succeed. What's Josh at currently percentage of offense threw him. Vs percentage of salary cap he earns. I think Josh has a lower cap percentage as he's not earning over 50% of Bills yearly cap. I am pretty sure Josh is responsible for over 50% of the offenses scores. -

Again he knows he can succeed under daboll. He isn't gonna generate alot 9f offers in FA. Incentive contract with Giants if he gambles and loses to a talented rookie in next few years, he may still improve his offers and his viability to other teams if the competition is back and forth. If he ends up being the newest version of tyrof Taylor, he might be ok with that type of career. Plenty of qbs past and present be ok with a Taylor career. -

Because while he has proven he is capable he likely really knows it's all about the team and as he is a FA he can listen to any offers he chooses for whatever conditions he deems most important. He doesn't strike me as a party boy so bright lights of NYC may not appeal to him. Then again he might be a regular at some den of iniquity currently big there. Giants have usually been pretty well run and they maycoffer a reasonable deal with acceptable incentives to justly compensate him if he can perform to those levels. Shoen won't offer him a kings ransom because Jones is nowhere near being king of the top nfl Qbs. He knows how to play 8n dabolls system and he may decide he has more growth under daboll and if he takes a incentive deal he already knows this system so he's got a leg up on a talented rookie. So he may feel he's better off competing in a system he knows and players he has chemistry with and keep getting better. Basically he hasn't proved he's a franchise QB but he isn't trash either. Depends on if they have a QB they feel can easily step in for Jones and that would be alot of pressure on a rookie. Smart move on both sides as I see it is offer and accept an incentive- balancing contract that will reward growth and pay for production while not putting an anchor on team if they do get a better qb that outgrows Jones. -
Think we will see Josh connect with Diggs for an early comfortable lead and then they will play complementary football with Joe Cool not quite able to keep pace with the Bills while the offense switches up pass/run and winning the time of possession. Mixon gets strong consideration after his costly fumble on the Bengals first possession of game which set the tone of the game to be Bills vs Bungles. It will be a very good game for football fans to watch both QBs playing well just think our defense comes up bigger than theirs can vs Allen and the boys on offense.

Don't know many people that work at any job and don't want to get paid. Not every teams starting quarterback is gonna command top qb salary and there are plenty of NFL players with the intelligence to understand their worth and to not demand what they don't actually deserve. He has proven capable under competent coaching. He has a place in the NFL as a capable qb but nothing special. He can earn a very nice living going forward as a vet bu qb if the giants decline to resign him. He can be Dabolls vet mentor for a rookie qb they draft if they find one in the draft they think they can develop into more than Jones gives them. If no qb in this draft fits their needs then they can do worse than keeping with Jones until they find a better qb, and as a Bills fan we know that can take awhile. -
I would hope a team who's players are proclaiming themselves the big dog in the AFC will give the Bills some playoff calibre competition. Let them talk because after this game all the Bengals talking now gonna find they indeed became the loudest dogs in the AFC with all the bitching they will do following the smackdown they will receive from the Bills.

How has the AFC East suddenly become the best division in football?
AuntieEm replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Instead they let him play and get Bills wins in a mix of fashions. Bills looked unstoppable at start of season then looked a bit inept as if the pressure imploded the teams focus. Then they scrapped it out to win despite miscues. Our team has more tricks up its sleeve. I have no doubts they have been playing some chess and it will be more apparent that they are in fact the team qe saw in Sept and they just played possum to alliieviate the pressure. -
Look at it like gotta hit 2 yrs in a row on the way to 20 straight years. Can't do what the Pats did to Bills without this start.

If Somehow Hyde Returns, We Win The Super Bowl
AuntieEm replied to Dick_Cheney's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea e might feel OK but his healing isn't gonna be complete. Why put the neck under more stress after some major surgery. And while there's alot they can do these days I don't think you take chances with some areas that have been injured. For that same reason I think Mitch Morse should retire after this season. I can understand it if he and his wife discussed this possibility and decided to just finish this season and then to retire. I certainly hope he will as he's likely getting to a point that any hit to his head will trigger concussion symptoms to some degree. I'd rather see him walk away and avoid further damage. -
Leslie Frazier expected to be "in the mix" for Broncos HC job
AuntieEm replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
He and his family may enjoy living in WNY more so than moving to a new city. Then again perhaps he would prefer a different nfl location.. Basically it is all about what Coach Frazier wants. He's certainly more than capable of deciding what he would like in his future and will proceed accordingly. If he wants to be a HC again then by all means I hope he gets his first choice amongst any openings he interviews for. -
It also helps that our players when they show up in news it's some kind of positive story and usually involves some type of charity or positive interactions not some kinda of negative stuff.
-
It's because the team believes in each other and in Josh. They know he won't stop so you rarely see our guys stop until the whistle blows. Josh has taken advantage of those extra efforts.
-
This. You give Allen solid protection there's very few teams that will out score Allen. He'd pick apart a defense trying to keep up with just a bunch of JAGS as long as they can catch and they know how to find open spots for Allen to feed them the ball. A nfl worthy receiver should already have catching skills and with a bit of practice should learn to break open for the balls Allen can deliver. So Allen can easily make stars out of capable receivers he doesn't have to have the best weapons to shine and do damage. By building a wall of protection you also prevent injury to the teams most important weapon. The team minus Allen is good but not many of us would place them as high SB contenders if they didn't have Josh. And I'm not saying they would be incapable of winning minus Josh but it would be a tremendous upset if they did compared to with Allen. So. Protect Allen and many wrs can become stars with him. Without Allen you could have the top 5 wrs but with a lesser qb that might not help.
-
Yes that would be a tough task to win the SB without having HFA, but certainly it would make a SB win that much more impressive if they do travel instead of hosting the playoff games. So I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy Bills football. They are always entertaining so as Bills fans we won the SB back when we drafted Josh Allen. We just didn't know it then but we are watching it unfold now and it is a pleasure to watch their games.
-
At this point the Bills get what they earn. If they wish to have a week off then they know what they need. If they win or lose only the path changes but the goal remains the same. As a fan I would prefer they win out because I enjoy Bills wins much more than the loses, though to be honest any Bills game with Josh Allen as Qb has been entertaining so I would be upset for the players if they fail to reach their goal of SB Champs, but I'll have likely seen some amazing football games because I expect this Bills team to have learned their football lessons well to not lose their focus. They have weathered the football storms and bounced back after dealing with some adversity. They will earn what their play deserves and we just have the pleasure of watching them
