Potential decision made for Championship Game location

Wonder if the nfl would be ok if cincis owners and pegulas decided to just go ahead and flip a coin if that situation occurred. -
Final 2023 first-round NFL Draft order after Super Bowl

Hoping sauce does well but that Jets mess up not pay him or just hope he hates the mj area he's stuck in and bolts to Bills as a fa. -
NFL Week #18 - Patriots* @ Bills - Post Game Thread
AuntieEm replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's all you can ask make a few plays are good times in game to swing that momentum and make opponents start pressing then we pick up points as they fall apart. -
NFL Week #18 - Patriots* @ Bills - 1st half game thread
AuntieEm replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Plus the refs also see how often Mac tries to cheapshot defenders they may just feel he deserves a few extra hits when he tries to give them himself. -
I'm not even looking to get bargain contracts and I don't think the Bills front office does either. We just want to pay a fair price for a solid effort and if you haven't displayed the work then you shouldn't see the money till it is there.
-
There is also the argument it's better to have a 5th yr option on a promising rookie wr. And I think they will get some solid vets to beef up the oline. I'm pretty confident this front office and McDermott have been hitting goals steadily and we are now entering the home stretch and think we have enough to cross that finish line in first place. Don't know or care if the lead alternates prior to the finish line. I'm good with a photo finish win if need be.

And if a player did opt to sign the best offer they get can't blame them for that given the same Hamlin situation shows that it can be over in one play. So I would wish the player well and then see what we have after fa and draft. We will have alot of players that will want to play here with the positives that seem to keep pouring out from Buffalo. So I think we will still be able to draft as they would like to based on their scouting reports and they will target vet ol fa and think they'll get it solid going into the Bills season as defending Champs.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders 1/7/23 4:30pm
AuntieEm replied to T&C's topic in The Stadium Wall
At the moment I think there enough pro Bills sentiment that any cheap shots to Josh would not be ignored or go uncalled in the playoffs regardless of the location game is played. Mafia travels well and there be plenty of deep pockets sympathetic towards Bills over Hamlin to be quite vocal and more pro Bills to ensure a HFA in crowd rooting percentsge. -

Plus you really think any player is gonna wanna risk injury or injuring another player in a game that means nothing at all to their team? Kinda think the general intensity would be equal to the importance of the outcome. Why I like at least getting the hit on Mahomes if they get the RTP penalty anyway. Not advocating cheap shots as I don't dislike Kermit enough to want Ms Piggy to have her way with him. Certainly let him feel solid and legal hits. The more the merrier because unlike Josh I think he gets more error prone not clutch. -

Hey at least that Raider was getting his 15 yds worth of hitting Mahomes. Somehow I don't see Patty laughing those off saying he likes getting hit. So maybe get mahomes jittery and getting hit and perhaps he makes a few critical errors at end of game losing to raiders and they choked with 3 seconds left. That would help even out the 13 seconds the Bills had to live with. -
Oh by all means I am not nor would i ever count out anything happening. I do get the sense that this is just how the Bills gotta earn their first SB win. No one is gonna say Bills lucked into a Lombardi or question this team as a complete team that's on the same mission and won't be stopped. I expect this bonding will be a solid foundation as they add to their legacy and just maybe this team will have the tenacity to match 4 straight SB but flip the losses into 4 straight wins. After that if they get a 5th str sb appearance I think the 90s team will salute this version as the a worthy successor for the record and since it's still a Bills record they'll celebrate it not be the jerks the Miami 72 team with their undefeated year. I'm certainly hopeful that one one the SB years is a undefeated season to win a 17 game season and sb for a new standard. I could easily see Mahomes and the Chiefs lose today.

Bills Radio PBP Announcer John Murphy suffered a stroke last weekend
AuntieEm replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Had my stroke 31 years ago. Mine was due to a ruptured brain aneurysm. Lost motor control of left side never lost sense of touch. Played softball 6 months later after rehabbing. Never had any issues with memory or language. -

If there is no other cause that is found then the decision will be lup to demarr as it pretty much is short of some sort if disability that this incident would ave incurred. At this time we do not know for a fact that no damage was caused by even the little time he was without oxygen. It is also really dependent on how this incident plays out to Damarr on his personal level. It may have him focus more on his work in his community. Football may be secondary to him and was always just a way to do what he really wants to be doing with his cause. He may want to play football for as long as he can. It's really up to how this effects his outlook going forward on whether he plays again or doesn't barring any unknown disability he may incurr due to this.

What Bengals & Chiefs fans are saying about the situation:
AuntieEm replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like the option I read that would play the AFC title game at a neutral site if any one of Bills, Bengals, Chiefs are in the AFCCG. That way no team gets HFA amongst the 3 favorites to win it previous to the canceled game. I'm of the opinion that wherever the Bills play in the neutral field scenario they'll actually have HFA with such a large outpouring of support for Buffalo due to the Hamlin injury. So the HFA might already be Bills if it's in Orchard Park or at a neutral site. -
Curious how the refs will call games this week.
AuntieEm replied to AuntieEm's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know the hit that preceeded the injury was very routine and no illegal contact. It registers like negative 5 on the Richter scale meaning didn't even look like much as it occurred. It's more of seeing such an incident is much different than reading about it or knowing it could occur in abstract. Ask a student in high school how they feel when the read about 911 versus asking someone who was watching TV that day and saw it live as it was happening and what seeing the 2nd plane hit which made it apparent it was an attack and no accident. -
Curious how the refs will call games this week.
AuntieEm replied to AuntieEm's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well the Sabres had another game with a similar jugular slash when Zednik got sliced by his teammates skate. I know it is unlikely we'll see another such incident in a football game. I just think it will be interesting to see if there's any noticeable if subtle differences might appear initially. I don't really follow other games too closely. What happened? -
It will be interesting to see if they get more nit picky on any excessive physical hits. I'm talking the ones you can plainly see did not need to be quite so hard. Ones that are borderline cheapshots. It will also be interesting to see how players themselves play initially. Might see a bit of subdued plays at first. While it wouldn't hurt to have some of the hitting get toned down will the game change noticeably in the initial games after Hamlins injury. What are everyone's thoughts on how the initial games look and if the refs are more active on harder hits or handfighting.
-
Because while we see the plays as being borderline cheap shots, the same could have been said about the Bills hitting White in the Jets game when he had apparent injury to his ribs. If not cracked bruised severely enough he had no business being allowed to be on the field for more hits. Does that make Matt Milano a cheap shot player or an all pro? Conflicting mssages and I can't say if Matt Milano is secretly some raving psychopath looking to maim other players. You get dbs out there giving extra shots on wrs as they pass the 5 yds contact is allowed. And that includes Tre White who is still testing himself against the top wrs and it may be awhile before he regains his confidence in his game to not try some of the tricks to get a jab in against rules. If he's lost his confidence than he should consider retirement and no shame in valuing his health as priority going forward. Stop talking with both sides of your mouth. Want player safety, players also need to be accountable for the extra hits, shoves and 'business decisions' that they themselves put themselves through. All players that are competitive are gonna try to intimidate ya if they can. It's why Josh will take a hit and come up laughing and commenting on how he likes getting hit. I truly don't believe Josh enjoys getting hit and having aches and pains when he gets up morning after game day? Don't know many real masochists though I know they exist and Josh may very well be one. Really don't need to know this, one way or another. I personally feel it's to intimidate the defenders who aren't used to the qb giving them shots they are used to delivering to the qb. Needless to say that's normal in competitors looking for any edge, however true sportsmen will not carry it over to cheap shots but just tip a hat when they get outplayed by another elite athlete then proceed to outplay them the next play. No the Bengals once the seriousness of the injury was apparent acted with class and they are just as traumatized as all who witnessed it. Bad enough what we can see on video it was no doubt much worse right up and on the field. The fact that he hasn't regained consciousness yet to determine the extent if the temp loss of oxygen is very worrisome as the range can be he lost his brains ability to develop esp. If the player has no interest in esp then the loss is negligible. If he wakes up and loses his memories that pertain to how to play football, well it might not be a bad thing if he forgets the game and retires to what he still remembers and cares for, family and friends. He can try to trigger his memories by watching film of his playing if he feels the gap in his memory is troubling to him. He very well may just shrug say he doesn't miss what he isn't aware of and retires happily and with no further issues. What we don't want is for him to wake up and not recognize anyone or worsecstill recognize everyone internally but lost ability to communicate. All language skills lost so now he has to relearn that while trying to recover from such msssive trauma. Loss of communication skills could leave them apprehensive and uncooperative in the rehab process through no fault on their parts nor on the medical staff. No the trash talk, the extra lil shots weren't so agregious to be out if character for any player who wants to win. Josh has done the same when he's taken a opponent and used them to knock over his own teammate. QBs don't do that normally but I'd say fans on those teams could see that as a cheap shot. Same argument you are making with their play.

Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.
AuntieEm replied to Locomark's topic in The Stadium Wall
No no way they pay until they know if Hamlin is ok. Hope mcd and beane announce they will just forfeit the Cincinnati and Pats games. They host the first game at HFA and any games not involving Cincinnati or KC those they can have some set of coin flips between the 3 teams Cincinnati kc and Buffalo to determine seeding before any games amongst them. Kc having lost to both teams cannot claim superior record. As it is Bills and Bengals players may not regain focus to even play until next season. -
Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.
AuntieEm replied to Locomark's topic in The Stadium Wall
True but on the other hand the Bills get healthier with all their injured players. There's risk of being a bit rusty with the extra time off though. But having to play the extra playoff game evens it out a bit especially as in playoffs you win or go home. So I'd find that an acceptable compromise that would give the team some time to get over the trauma and play because I wouldn't blame any of the players if they cannot focus on the game of football for the rest of this season. If the players themselves decided they wished to forfeit all remaining games this season I'd be ok with that mo problem. -
Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.
AuntieEm replied to Locomark's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let them choose a way that the 2 teams agree upon how to decide a winner. They can have a tug of war or some series of events that require teamwork. A Catalan tourney between group of Bills players and Bengals players. Can agree on the number of players and what constitutes victory. Heck if we want a rigged contest whichever team raises more for concussion research and developing better protective gear wins. And all players win pro and amateurs as well as anyone that suffers any major concussions wins if any improvements are made via the research. We know Bills Mafia likely wins in donating for worthy cause, but more importantly more funding for research to perhaps finding ways to minimize the impacts players suffer. -
No one knows how much damage may have occurred due to lack of oxygen to his brain. As well the actual locations that were deprived long enough to die matter in that they may be areas that did not contain control of vital functions. He may wake up with no noticeable problems, or he could wake up and have a bad case of amnesia. We have to wait till he's conscious to ask him.
