Peter King/FMIA/PFT 1st Round Mock Draft
AuntieEm replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I truly feel in the case of Zay Jones he bought into all his draft hype as being the most NFL ready WR in his class and adding the questions surrounding Allen as a viable starting QB. Zay Jones didn't put in the effort to adjust to the pro game because in his mind he played at a pro level already and Josh needed to up his game. Any wr drafted wants to go to a team with solid QB play. Don't think there are any draf eligible wrs that wouldn't jump at the chance to begin their NFL careers with Allen and would put out maximum effort to make the team. Zay Jones already had his sense of entitlement and his father chiming in as well to question Allens QB abilities just cemented that entitlement in Zays mind. It's really a matter of how Downs puts in the effort to transition onto the NFL. Perhaps the lack of visits will motivate Downs and that would be a better start than any 'entitled feeling' rookie. -
Peter King/FMIA/PFT 1st Round Mock Draft

I believe the poster is saying if Gabe Davis has a monster season they could tag and trade him if they couldn't get a deal done prior to FA. If he has no improvements he might not even have a big market in FA. -

4 Detroit Lions suspended for gambling violations
AuntieEm replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
From the article the 6 game suspensions were for betting from team facility and their bets were on some college games. The indefinite suspensions were assessed for players that bet on NFL games again from team facilities. So the betting on college games was not gonna damage the shield as much as a bet on an NFL game does. The indefinite can apply for reinstatement for the next years season so it's called a 1 yr suspension. However it can be permanent if the player fails to take any steps the league requires of them. If a player was a truly addicted gambler that can't stop he'd never play again. -

Not sure how great the minds are stating obvious facts. I'd say the proper adjective is more along the lines of 'sound undelusional minds.'

Lamar Jackson as TV analyst? It’s logical.

Yea read that they both played together in college so never know they might work together well knowing each other so well as olinemates. They could mesh very well and that's a big part of oline success.

Add that he still will be looking to add a ring to his career and it maybe a good fit if the sides can agree on a fair deal. Collins may want a shorter deal but one with a possible sb win could be just what he wants.

Anyone just sit back and appreciate it?
AuntieEm replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Original poster asked for a òffensive upgrade so Von Miller was a addition for the defense that was needed but didn't address the address the lack of weapons Josh has or ol that can give him more time to let plays develop. -

Op referenced an move for offense so Von Miller wouldn't fit that. -
Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
AuntieEm replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well gotta consider that Josh took his bonus money and invested it into his family's farm to plant a orchard of pistachio trees that once bearing nuts should be giving his family a yearly 6 million or so in produce to sell at today's prices give or take. It really depends on the individual. So yes Josh planned with his windfall of cash to set his family up to reap benefits going forward independent of his football skills. So when he decides to call it a career he still has a nice bit of coin coming in from his farming endeavors. -
Yea more of a Kelly/Thurman dynamic in that harder to send the odd blitz on a nimble Allen who now also has a Von Miller sized RB that will keep Allen safe. I always loved how well Thurman pass protected as a star rb in his own right.

Dunno with Allen's arm and running ability alone there be more holes Henry could exploit in a read option setting with Allen. Can't tackle either of these big guys easily so gonna stack the box so Allen has free receivers all over the field? Plus at his size I'm thinking he's a ĺmassive pain for any pass rush. A de gets by the tackle and has a bead on Allen, then gets pancaked by the King. It could work quite well and add a very solid wrinkle that can pay benefits of it being solid in all weather so if any freakish late season storms pop up then they can pound the ball as needed in such conditions.

I never liked the Oliver pick. The whole thing in college with the jacket on the sidelines didn't leave a positive impression to begin with, but when his name got called just something about how he rubbed his hands together just screamed to me he was only thinking about the money he make and not that he realized a lifelong dream of getting drafted into the NFL. Nothing he shows playing or in interviews tells me he loves playing. Let him cash his checks from another team.

I'd love to see him create some plays built around Allen's skills. It would really be interesting how he'd influence Allen's play.

Brandon Beane admitting fault & not learning from his mistakes.

Plus gotta take in consideration coaching scheme and how well a player meshes with his lineages. Not all players gel as well as others and with the trenches you can be made or broken by the right versus wrong linemstes.
