Antonio Brown - (Former) Arena Football League Owner
AuntieEm replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oops meant to reply to buffalo716 post below. I agree it's almost guaranteed they will find he has significant damage to the area that controls impulses as most of the problems that AB keeps getting himself into are lack of self didcipline. It would be interesting if he even ever àsks himself what he was thinking if he ever reflects back on the problems he's had recently. -
My comments on expertise was not to question your football knowledge. More of well if Terry doesn't know if hes happy with the direction the team is heading while having all the info he needs as to what we as fans can only speculate on (exactly how much Josh's injury impacted on gameplans), no one on this message board could know who Terry goes to for advice. I think he makes the decisions himself and it's why he has weekly meetings with Beane and meetings with McD as well. Not to be a meddling owner but to build his instincts of when a change is needed. He certainly learned that just throwing money at players doesn't guarantee a winning team in his first few years owning the Sabres. However the issue that came up with the injury to Eichel I could see that leading to Terry insisting the Bills do more to protect Josh and even Terry asking Josh to take fewer risks when it's not a critical play in a given game. No one except Terry can give you the correct answer. Yes it would be interesting to know but it's not info I expect we will ever know. I would love to have access to read Queen Elizabeth Ii personal diary of thoughts she felt important enough to make note of as a history buff. I gather her journals are sealed for a number of years in the distant future which I don't expect I'll be alive for. So I just have to accept never knowing those facts that I certainly would find interesting. That's the same for everyone here unless they are someone that knows Terry well enough that Terry would answer truthfully if asked by them. Otherwise all the answers given are random speculations. I speculate Terry researches and seeks guidance from sources he trusts based on how he researches anything he doesn't already have an answer for. My choice amongst those u listed is #3. While I was always mechanically inclined since I was a child I never really did alot of work on cars. However once I was in the Air Force and when my car wouldn't start, I asked other techs I worked with for any advice on troubleshooting what was wrong. It took me all of 10 minutes to know I had a dead altenator and as my car was a standard I was able to jump it temporarily by popping the clutch after getting it moving enough to bypass the dead alternator until I got to a auto parts store where I got a replacement that I installed myself. Within a month a friend if mine had similar issues which took me 1 minute to troubleshoot as I had that knowledge and whenever my friend had a question she'd ask me first as I earned her trust in that regard even knowing I wasn't a car mechanic I knew enough to get the answers I needed when they are needed. I expect most people also make decisions much the same based on their experiences.

You obviously have some intelligence because you can read and write. However I'm 100% certain there are areas that you are severely lacking in expertise. If you own a car and are not in anyway an expert in automotive engineering however did you choose what car to buy and drive? If you just went out and bought the first car that you saw with the color you liked best and it turns out that it's always breaking down and in the shop for repairs no doubt you would do a little better research as you look to replace it. If the car you buy is dependable and it gets you where you need to be do you replace it because the time you drove to the restaurant that serves your favorite meals is closed when you get there.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
AuntieEm replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
And with Allen stating he will be a QB first football player second well that says to me he's going to be more aware of the down and distance as well as how the game is going to keep him healthy and when the boy is healthy puts alot of pressure on the opponents defense. I expect the oline will prove to be improved and that will really test opponents and they will all be found lacking as Josh really dominates with all his new weapons and our defense gets to feast on opposing qbs. And McDermott will finally learn the best defensive improvement was to give Josh more weapons and protection. When Josh can pick apart teams where they have busted coverage then I don't see the Bills losing many games. Possible yes of course, as any given Sunday and that's why they play the games, but I just don't see the team having another year of all the issues they dealt with last season. So with a more focused team they will be too tough to beat and I really don't think they will lose many games. I certainly think the old 70s Dolphins, likely very few left these days, will have to cancel their champagne orders. -
Think basically Zay had too much pressure put on him by his family expecting him to be a star in the league. I don't even know when Kincaid first had expectations he was gonna be drafted into the NFL. Seems like being so late to playing football, Kincaid's talent is natural rather than developed and natural is a bit more consistent and reliable. He's already likely exceeded his expectations by being drafted, there is little pressure on him he just needs to keep doing what he does naturally.

It I'd indeed his life and he's has every right to enjoy his free time. If his popularity gives him some extra exposure that in turn allows him to make a lil extra cash or free merchsndise modeling then that's less money he will demand when new contracts are due. In fact it's a smart move always generating positive press for the NFL in offseason.

But there likely be different causes the anger is focused on. I'd be angry that the defender was on Allen in a mere few seconds whereas some fans would be angry Josh took the smart play ànd is on to the next play. Not sure there are are many Bills fans who worry about 1st and 20 as there once were. Josh converts those more often than any qb the Bills have ever had. I'd rather Josh just end play then hurry up line up again before defender has a moment to catch their breaths. I'd guess they could have a crazy success rate on plays that followed that scenario.

Run for the Roses: Josh Allen attends, disguised as a Creamsicle
AuntieEm replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hope they ditch the 'campsigning' for individual awards like MVP. Just take what's given every play move the chains. If any player stands out so be it and they win some awards, if not trying to showcase any one player limits their effectiveness as they become easier to defend. Josh doesn't need an mvp award for Bills fans to know he's the top dog on our team. -
Buffalo Fanatics has a point - Burrow is elite but JA is superior
AuntieEm replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lol wish Allen could slip off the radar and focus. Unfortunately he is such a talent when he is focused and dialed in that he's a player people like watching.. There's a good reason Bills keep getting Primetime games. It's because Josh is such an entertaining player and I don't want that to change anytime soon. -
There may be cuts end òf preseason where we pick up some improvements if the preseason tape on oline chemistry looks like it needs help and there's any better players in cuts from other teams. We may be set that's what we may find out in preseason.

They are converting out lb core into strafties which are roving lb/Safety hybrids.

Yea I always heard the urban legend which had me google it and I was surprised on the various facts. The indigenous aspect is that is the location of an Indian village. I myself do truly find it interesting, always found archeology a fascinating area of study.
-
Actually one of the articles I read on my Google stated that there was a petition back then to prevent the architects from moving the remains. Seems Ralph Wilson respected their request and had the architects realign the stadium as the original placement would have had the cemetery at the 50 yd line. The realignment is the reason þhè stadium had its wind tunnel effect and swirling winds ar dome late season games.
-
Is the location still on the site òf the Indian village/burial ol grounds? I googled the urban legend of the curse of the stadium being built on indian burial ground and learned of the Sheldon family cemetery which was not disturbed and I learned the direction of the stadium wind tunnel effect is due to the original stadium orientation having to be adjusted so the construction of the stadium did not disturb the cemetery which I read is just outside gate 7 at the stadium. Good news is the new stadium will no doubt be oriented to remove the wind tunnel effect the current stadium has. Now once they demolish the old stadium I believe the plan is to use the area as parking for the new stadium? If so curious how they will zone off the Sheldon family cemetery. Be a bit odd to have a cemetery in the middle of stadium I parking lots. Maybe set up a second cemetery to mirror the Sheldon family cemetery and we can designate the mirror cemetery as the place Mafia can perform burial rites pregame cleremonies for that weeks opponents. Any other suggestions to what needs to be done to finally removing the curse? It sure seems to have been running amok disrupting the Buffalo sports teamsnot just the Bills. The skate in the crease for the 2006 SCF loss. And before that the puck through the side of net or the bát that was killed in the old Aud. Definitely some strange occurrences fill our sports history. We need to cleanse the bad karma once and for all. What steps do you all think need to be taken?

And it may get to the point he will cash in whathe has earned and retire to stop the cycle of injury/rehab just like Andrew Luck. Tua seems like a good guy not a jerk like Watson. I would be glad to see Tua walk away ìf he keeps getting hurt. Whereas I don't care if Watson gets hurt and has to call it a career. And I'd laugh knowing Browns fully guaranteed the contract. In fact my opinion on Watsons character, is I expect him to have constant injuries that require massage therapy.

Dexter Lawrence 4 yrs / 90M extension with Giants
AuntieEm replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can't say I know this is maybe part of the reason but I've always thought the Giants ownership leans towards a stout defense over offensive power. So they are willing to pay for top defenders in their system. I mean the SB teams that beat Brady won more because of defense than Eli being the QB. Yes he did enough to get the job done but Eli is usually not the first thought as to why those giants won those SBs. -

Well have no problem with moving on from him. There are vets that will want to have a good chance at a ring with the Bills. Don't know if he grew up as a Texans fan. Ìf so than good for him. I do hope he does at least play well as he gives them tape to wanting to sign him in FA. Just cause he's from the area won't guarantee they will want to pay him top dollar if he plays poorly. -

The did by doing enough to complement a solid offense in. Perhaps in Donald's case he did a bit more. Over the season they won SB, tbh I don't recall paying much attention to the Rams then or since. He may bolt to a contender like the Bills in FA you never know. -
Is the Kent Hull award a school award therecor the football division? Also is it for best oline irregardless of position on line or is it best guard etc? I know Kent was from Mississippi if memory serves so don't know if its based on school state or conference. Ok I just googledvit. It is best collegiate olineman in state of Mississippi. Still never hurts when your play stands out to win n award.

Are we more deserving of the SB hype this year than last?
AuntieEm replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree if the injury was limiting the playcalling to the extent it appears it did they could have put in Keenum and especially if resting the injury would have allowed Josh to get over the injury faster. Hard to know how long it would have taken to regain full pass repetoire. I once had what must have been a torn rotator cuff on my right throwing shoulder. I still played softball despite the pain I had on dome throws. I played 1sr base so I didn't have the smount of throws I'd have needed to make if I was at shortstop as I had played that position as well in my softball endeavors thru the years and multiple leagues. And thats how it should be. I want every player who is starting in any game for the Bills to be starting because they earned it by their play not because we have no other option. If his game translates against pros he will start when he has proven he's earned it. -

I never have any issues with other fans takes. I may wonder how they arrived at their position but I'm OK with them holding different views. Opinions are never right or wrong they are just a personal judgement based on a person's experiences with whatever the opinion is about. Everyone is entitled to think what they wish and an opinion is just that a thought about a specific thing there never will be a wrong opinionabout anything really in my opinion because there's too many differences between any 2 people. Not often 2 says have carbon copies of life experiences. And when some do have similar experiences each have differences in life as to how they view the experience. I have always loved Friday 13 and view it as a very lucky positive day. As a child had an aunt only 10 years older that had been hit by a drunk driver that did damage her car but she was fine on a Friday 13. Another fri 13 an elderly man who was very neighborly to kids in area and this was a farm area so fair distances between houses. He had been robbed and tied up in his basement. It was just a few days later he was found in not best statec but in time that no permanent damage occurred. I don't know if he had much contact with family or friends his age as he likely outlived a large number of his friends by then he was ìn his 80"s. Since he recovered nonce they found him in his basement I considered that lucky it was Fri 13. No we another person may take the approach Fri 13 is unlucky because both those incidents are not things you want to occur. I look at the positive of nothing important was lost. Health in both cases did not take a downward spiral, any items damaged or stolen were replaced valuewise by insurance. I can see considering both it being unlucky and lucky at the same time. Neither opinion is right or wrong. It just a sitter of what is more important to the opinion holder. I don't need the team to win the SB to think the Bills are one of the best teams in the NFL, but best is just an opinion unless you are being very specific in parameters you are rating. Like the best scoring offense last year was.... Whatever team had the most points scored is the winner. Now because the outlier of cinci Bills game never being played to complete that game, you could use a pts/gm to equalize for cincy buff to save them correctly based on known results. No one can say what the final score would have been if the game had been played. -

He certainly has the ability between his ears. And it certainly maybe very fortunate he has spent time with Brady, Rodgers and Mahomes. They are all fans of Josh's game and certainly appear to accept Josh as a peer. I've never really did much golfing myself, but I'd expect he may be learning dome patience from it. I'd expect it's sometimes better on a course to maybe go for placement over distance and methodically get to the pin instead of powering smack into a trap or hitting some trees or other obstacle in the path.
