I actually prefer that the AFCE is gonna be a challenge most games even outside of normal divisional familiarity. The team is gonna really need to focus on every game and I rather they get hit in the mouth so to speak if they aren't all there. I want to see the Bills clearly dominate each opponent of course but I'll live with steady consistent effort every game even if there's a few close hard fought losses. With the provision that they do win division and are in the mix for 1 seed throughout the season. If another team plays better than they at least deserve the win in my view. However they will be battle tested and better prepared for playoff run than if they don't have any serious competition.

You got to wonder who thought it was a good idea. Very easy to figure that the numbers would fall because not everyone has cable even before the rise of smartphones and streaming, not everyone bothers with paying for cable so it would certainly drop ratings for that alone. Unless they thought they could negotiate a lower price for future contracts. Almost wish they would just have games on Sundays and stop with the variable scheduling.

And I am expecting our offense to be improved and it already was very good. Our defense is gonna feast as the opponents won't have much choice but to pass and trying to keep up with the Allen's will cause major opponent discombobulations. -
Your are right. For some reason I thought Kyle retired after the drought ending playoff game. And I do remember them playing Kyle on offense to have him catch a pass. And how ì thought it was great that horrible Harry got to learn a year from Kyle às he seemed to have the similar motor Kyle had. Anyone know how Harrison looks playing on the Vikings defense? Just curious if he would be playing better than Oliver has.

Former first round picks on our defensive line

Not sure I'd consider the efforts of all 4 are consistently of a 1st round caliber of defensive player for me. Of the 4 I'd say Von was the most consistent but he's also the talented veteran so I'd expect him to be consistent on experience alone. Did we have an y other 1st rounders back in the Bruce Smith years on defense? I don't recall that we did. I know we did get Bennett but he was a lb not dl. -
Well I do want the Bills to keep adding to the ol, once you got it set up well then you can keep it solid with high end draft picks to develop in the system you have a solid unit with. With a defensive HC he should be able to identify the right free agent vets to fit into his schemes. I don't mind if they spend fa on defense if they keep adding quality on offense in the draft. I hope another year under kromer and being healthy will see Brown rebound into a capable tackle. Even if he is improved I'd still want them to draft a top tackle to train and compete for both Brown and Dawkins as both could be improved there's a big gap between both and the top tackles at their respective sides. Bring in a talented rookie and they either up their games or get replaced by a better player.

And if he comes to Buffalo and helps the Bills get one or more Lombardi's then that would raise his HoF worthy resume. If he is really tied to the Tampa area and they already have a understanding on a new deal what prevents them from trading Evans for the yr remaining on his current deal this let's Tampa save paying him in a yr they will be bad, Evans gets a 2nd ring then he signs a new deal with Tampa next year. He's beefed up his Hof resume, and then gets a new deal with the team he wishes to stay on after just playing 1 year in Buffalo. I myself would rather he save any draft capital he has and would prefer he try to secure one of the top wrs in next years draft. I'd love to get Marv Harrison Jr., think on a 5 yr rookie contract that would really work well with a seasoned Josh Allen as his QB. And with any of the reliable weapons he has from this year that would be the move I would love to see occurring.

0nly to a certain extent. I know if we had an elite player you still would have to monitor his snaps and every game it would be different because the effort that player needs will fluctuate based on the player he will be engaged with. In a game against a talented ol he will exert much more energy than if he ragdolls some inept lesser athlete.

Well Brady always said that Giselle would make up some stuff for him to ingest and that she was a witch so probably some sort of Brazilian cleansing so Brady passed any drug testing? Just speculation but I could see it being possible.

Bills Radio PBP Announcer John Murphy suffered a stroke last weekend
AuntieEm replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I imagine you could send any cards with well wishes to Murph via the Bills as he is employed by them and they can be sure he gets them. -
Indeed, the future holds good and bad things for everyone that's alive. That's maybe the only fact I'd wager any big money on.

What’s up with Gambling int he NFL amongst NFL Players?
AuntieEm replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is a impulse control based addiction. Just as there are people that are addicted to shopping and some people just need to spend a set amount of money to get their rush. And the fact that the area in brain responsible for impulse control I believe is in the frontal lobe and is often damaged by repeated concussions . Hence we get the addicts of gambling, drugs, alcohol all spiraling out of control and we get the suicides. So the problem is certainly one I think the NFL holds liability for whether or not the bet is placed in facilities or anyplace. -

And I am sure there are more intelligent gambling players that set up ways they gamble without getting caught even now. Where there is a way to make some big money there will always be people that will be doing everything they can to get it. -
I think the last year Kyle Williams played, Tyrod Taylor was QB. We drafted Josh the year after they ended the playoff drought. So Josh and Kyle never got to be teammates.

I think many people realize that the offense while not always perfect is still producing points in sufficient quantity that makes upgrading it harder than upgrading a defense that has been unreliable when a big stop is needed to close out important games. The Bills have been s good team the past few years they just need a bit of tweaking and the defense hasn't always done its share in many games.

Plus it is kind of nice I expect that the players love the game and the players also get to retain personal lives easier than a star player in any major sport.

How will the defense be different this year?
AuntieEm replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I also think his 'more aggressive' could signal players being more opportunistic when Josh and offense are clicking in any given game, which I think is pretty much most games, then our defense can certainly get the ball back for Josh and the offense. -
Maybe he's a piece in some trade but the other team wanted him under more contract years and they could have gave Beane a number they'd be willing to pay Oliver. Can't say that I th ink he earned that money, hoping they know something we don't.

Beane: “working on at least 2 veteran UFA’s”
AuntieEm replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Indeed which is why I place Tua as a very possible call it a career while he can still walk away relatively well. It's almost a given he will have issues as he ages from the abuse his body already has suffered. Hope he doesn't develop any arthritis or rheumatism as he ages. -

Yea never know Tua may get tired of the battering he takes and decides to call it a career if he has any significant injury this year. Even having learned how to fall might not save him from getting his bell rung sometime during the season. -
Jackson Mahomes Sexual Assault(Update)Arrested
AuntieEm replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea that as well. I'm sure there are a lot of his followers that first watched him because of his brother and father. So he generates alot of income with his social media. If every click is worth even just 1 penny I can see some of these soc media 'Influencers' making a substantial income. And the clicks are all they care about. So all the clicks he's getting now he's being googled is enabling him. So it's society and the social media that's more to blame than any person Jackson is related to imo. Basically if people stopped clicking on his media he'd likely become dependent 9n his dad and brother more than currently. Somehow I just don't envision Jackson as being smart enough to have set aside a portion of his earnings as a safety net if he loses his social media income. -

Don't think he's supported by Patrick. I would assume he gets a bit of coin from his social media which is why he probably even welcomes this publicity as it probably is generating coin as his videos and tiktok get clicks. The cynic in me can even see this being a stunt that they came up with to generate some activity. Giving his brother access to being on sidelines at games though should be revoked to distance Patrick from his brother's questionable behavior
