I’ve learned to wait 48 hours to a week after Trump does anything to see what the true outcome is. I’ve made a fool of myself jumping to conclusions immediately after an event/comment/action he’s taken. That doesn’t mean it always pans out. But I’ll wait this one out. I do think it was a bad look that Putin fired off more drones at the Ukraine almost immediately after but I suppose when Trump flew a B2 over his head he felt a certain way. I’ll say this whole summit looked poor for Trump based on his build up towards it, but again, I’ll give it a week. Edit: oh. And the red carpet for Vlad ***** Putin was cheesy at best, insulting to an ally at worst. But that’s the kind of thing I’ve just come to expect from Don; tasteless crap. But I just can’t get upset anymore about him having the tact of an Alabama moonshiner.

They don’t. They want them to become red. Literally every news story about a blue city or state (or district in this case) from the right is full of mockery and “f.uck them, they voted for this.” But now that Trumpy Bear wants to clean up his temporary hometown, they cheer it on as if they care about the residents of a blue city. All of that to say I actually agree with what Trump is doing in DC. I hate the precedent but the blue leadership has turned a fantastic city into a crime ridden hellhole. Do I wish they could clean it up with less drastic measures? Of course. But they’ve proven they can’t. So I struggle with this one because Trump is doing the unprecedented again, (as if that’s not an oxymoron). So, I agree that republicans cheering this on are hypocrites. I agree with the actions being taken because DC needs to clean up its mess. I believe the left’s soft on crime is an awful stance and one major flaw I find in my own party. I believe these actions that I like are skirting the letter of the law and are a short term band aid to a much bigger problem. And I hate to say this, because it’s a cop out thing to say, but at least he’s doing something. So, Trump gets my support on this one with hesitation to what it means for future POTUS.

I’m a 45 year old first time dad. I literally can’t let the old man in. 😂 PS. I lived in DC for three years and always felt safe. But that was over a decade ago. The stats don’t lie. I see why people are upset with the tactics, but I don’t see how anyone is upset with action finally being taken. The per capita numbers are crazy. Is it an overreach of power? Probably. For sanity’s sake, can we separate those opposed to the forced covid shots vs those opposed to the ***** measles vaccine? The latter reminds me of a meme I saw of a little girl asking her mom about her smallpox vaccine scar on her arm and inquiring why she didn’t have one herself. Her mom’s response, “because it worked.” I think most of us can agree that multiple rounds of Covid vaccines in order to keep one’s job was incorrect in hindsight (though some of us also refuse to blame the dEeP sTaTe and some major government conspiracy). So let’s agree that one was bad. But the new regime, led by a guy I wouldn’t take advice from how to help a common cold, questioning the necessity of the measles vaccine is brain-worm “take a selfie with a dead bear in Central Park” levels of insane.
