The iPad mini (or iPad Air as I believe it will be called) is to be announced this week - rumored to be in the $329 range you might want to wait for that. If they want to also "check in online" an e-reader is no good. I personally love my iPad (using it to type this now) and do use it for both newspaper and books. The "reading on a screen" has never been an issue for me.

Agree James. My dog is a rescue. It turned out when I got her it was the day before she was to be euthanized. The woman who was responsible for her at the spca told me that after I got her. I really can't imagine not having a dog.

Yep, I was waiting for someone else to say it. How perverse. Why in the world did that need to be videotaped? Is he going to pull now grown Nicholas into the living room and say "hey 'little man', wanna watch the video where I tell you mom's dead?... no? ok." Why did I need to see this.
