  1. I learned to NEVER eliminate Sally Field. Ever.
  2. The Pit Pass was awesome. Got some amazing pictures. The VIP tent was cool, free beer and food. As it was 9/10, the pre-race ceremony was touching and not overdone. As for the race? I honestly don't know how people sit through it. Wait, yes I do. They allow you to bring your own booze in. But my god talk about boring. I was with my girlfriend who said after 10 laps "Theres 390 more laps....". She was a great sport, but after the first excitement of "hearing the power" of the cars, and the first 20 laps with a bunch of crashes, I was bored out of my mind. Couldn't hear a thing and the fact that it's cars going in an oval over and over.... and over... doesnt change because you're there live. It was worth the experience, no doubt, but that will be my last race.
  3. Thanks again for all the input/advice. I live in Va Beach, about 2 hours from the track, and 2 hours and 2 minutes from the hotel I'm staying at - so those who advised to leave early to beat traffic and/or the drunk drivers, I planned ahead for that. I may leave early out of boredom as I'm really going for the pre-game festivities. I'll let all y'all know how it goes
  4. Thanks y'all guys. I'll be sure to pick up some earplugs. I'll also be sure to take some pictures of any really nice tail cars. Rubbin is Racin. Thanks again.
  5. Can't understand the "sport" at all and think its completely pointless, but scored free VIP tickets with pit passes. Should be a blast if for nothing other than the people watching. Any tips for a NASCAR newbie? Let the redneck jokes roll!
  6. I'm in Virginia Beach. All of the tracking models show I will get crushed. I live on the 11th floor of my apartment. Heres what I have going: 4 flashlights and some batteries. 3 cases of beer. Power should go out here Saturday night. So Saturday I will fill my washing machine with ice and this beer. Keeps it cold, and when power returns, spin cycle gets rid of the water. 12 bottles of red wine. 12 gallons of water. Saturday I will fill one of my bathtubs with water. This is to put in the back of the toilet to flush it. A case of canned food with the pry off tops. Baby wipes. My car full of gas solely to use to charge electronic devices (iphone for music, ipad for movies) Cash. Chinese restaurants open before the tropical storm winds even go away, they use propane. Cash always spends.
  7. You're comparing the Indianapolis Colts to the Buffalo Bills? Our pessimistic realistic attitudes comes from much more than preseason football. Look at this team!!
  8. It's been pretty good so far????? I thought it didn't start yet? Wait, I think we are crossing shows.
  9. The final episode of season 3 is, so far, the best episode of any TV program I have ever watched. I was just blown away.
  10. I haven't read through this thread, but I watched the first two and a half seasons and right now I'm completely bored of Breaking Bad. Just got done with the episode with the fly in the lab and I just can't find enough interest to go to the next episode. When is the next season of Sons of Anarchy starting??? CAN'T WAIT!
  11. Your definition of realist is a bit optimistic IMHO. And to many, "Gailey will be fired" is not a pessimistic viewpoint.
  12. This thread is sofa king informative.
  13. Is there a wonderlic equivalent for front offices/owners?
  14. This will not be the last time I'll be wrong here. It will also not be the last time I post here while drinking. You get what you get with me, and that's often not very valuable input.
  15. Well, they DID get a 4th. I love you.
  16. We got the same as boldin. Lee was great. At a hot streak so long as no safety coverage.
  17. I'm typing this from the ipad2. Love it,andt I actually use it for work more than home because it's great for taking to meetings and using for notes and the office suite rather than taking my laptop with me - absolutely somethign you can do with an android tablet as well . I can't speak to the transformer, but if you prefer android it seems like a great device based on the cnet review I saw. I could be wrong, but I don't think it comes with the keyboard. I'd go to best buy and try both out and see what you like. I am one of the few that likes apple BECAUSE of the strict controls they put on the app store. I may miss out on 47 iterations of a fart app because apple is so "closed" but Im ok with that I don't have to dig through piles of garbage on the app store to get what I'm after - and for the most part the apps are of high quality.
  18. Holy Crap. Its either this post or the "Unfortunately, this will become a polarizing issue instead of a celebration that the kid is alive. I do not thank marijuana, I thank Jesus...no, not that mythical fairy tale guy - the Mexican who picked the buds and brought them in to the country" for 2011 Post of The Year.
  19. My apologies. Sorry for crapping on the thread. Regardless of anything I said, 27 is too young to check out indeed.
  20. My condolences for your loss, Scott.
  21. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1019027/index.htm Let us not forget
  22. Quote from a recent article I read (dated 5.14.11) Apple's CEO Steve Jobs reportedly called his MobileMe team into his office and asked, "Can anyone tell me what MobileMe is supposed to do?" When one of them answered with what is reported to be a very logical one, Jobs responded, "Then why the f*** doesn't it do that?"
  23. That's blatant libel. I do NOT download music.
  24. I don't think a typical apple douche would say he would never use a mac for work. Have a great weekend!
