  1. I don’t think he’s racist either. But oh man when you’re the party that constantly gets accused of it, his “excuse” of not having self control gets old quick when he picks Juneteenth to say there are too many federal holidays. And I believe things like that help light the fire of the extreme MAGAs (the small minority who do wave swastika flags along side their Trump flags), the same way when he says “fight” those pinheads do just that, literally and not in the polls. At some point he needs to realize he’s a grown adult and his toddler-level lack of self control hurts the country. He might not have self control, but he isn’t stupid, and he knows what he’s doing. And that - to me - is unacceptable.
  2. I’m sure there is all sorts of hyperbole in this thread. But do any of my republican friends here think Trump helped the accusations/optics of “the right being racist” when he chose to - on Juneteenth of all days - to tweet “Too many non-working holidays in America. It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed.” When the leader of the country tweets that on the holiday that recognizes the end of slavery in America, it’s not hard to see how it just adds fuel to the “MAGA/republicans are racist” fire. I know many republicans on here aren’t “MAGA republicans,” and consider him an orange gasbag, but you are all smart enough (seriously; I'm not being a dick) to connect those dots.
  3. NEVER!!! (I’m 45 with a toddler. If I back off the caffeine, I die.) But point taken. I was a bit harsh on the kid. Let’s see what he can do this year. Solid WR2 is a big piece of the puzzle we need. So let’s hope he hits that in a 17 game season 👍
  4. Narrator: It turns out they are indeed stupid.
  5. Like it or hate it, seems like Iran is finding the definition of FAFO.
  6. But then what’s the point of hiring people if millions were going to show up (honest question; not trying to stir the pot - I hope my posts at least over the last few weeks have shown I want to do that). Adding a pinch of salt to the pile on the side of Rt5 in Hamburg isn’t making it a noticeably bigger pile. And I would argue that by even suggesting that “some” were paid tries to undermine the fact that millions showed up on their own free will. Like I said, protesting isn’t my thing but just like I said I’d have a bit more respect for Trump if he said “the turnout to the parade was a bit disappointing” I’d have the same if someone on the right said “dang, a lot of people showed to those protests.” Not “many were paid” and then linking a Craigslist ad. You know what the implication was there.
  7. My enthusiasm? I was annoyed that I had to take the long way to the beach because of the protesters. I’m judging the idea that they were paid. Don’t want to address my point? That’s cool. Back to just throwing jabs I guess. But I’m guessing without that random Craigslist post (Who the F.UCK uses Craigslist in 2025 😂) the turnout would have been millions less? Come on man.
  8. So only a small percentage were paid to show up? Come on man. You know saying that people were PAID to go to protests is silly conspiracy BS. Your post even hammers home the point. So you’re saying only a handful of the millions? I was saying - correctly - that millions of people protested across the country. The resident right wing weirdo (Homeboys counterpart on the right) said “many were paid.” So the “deep state” thought “there’s already millions of Americans across the country at these protests without getting compensated, but we should pay a handful more?” You see the absurdity in that, yes?
  9. Interesting comment for a Happy Father’s Day thread but I felt the same way. Until I didn’t. And now I wish I hadn’t waited until 44 to have our first. But holy ***** - the exhaustion is real, the constant anxiety is real, the loss of some hobbies is real. And it’s ALL worth it when my 17 month old came up and said “Da!!” (That’s what he calls me) and gave me a hug yesterday. Number 2 on the way, due in November. I’ll be 45 and I regularly think of how old I’ll be when they hit certain milestones - I’ll be the guy at high school graduation people assume is the grandpa. But I’ve come to grips with it. That said, it’s 100% not for everyone. And the biggest thing I’ve taken away so far is my undying respect for single parents. Doing this alone would have likely killed me.
  10. And here we are arguing over a parade and protests. Yikes.
  11. I have truly enjoyed some legitimate political conversations with many on the right over the past few weeks. Then this tin foil holder jumps in. 😂 “because indeed many were.” My post above asks all the pertinent questions to this massive conspiracy laden payday that millions got for showing up. Man, that tab must be in the billions! But “tHe dEEp sTaTe” must have bottomless pockets. 😂 Here ya go, conspiracy troll; I’ll save ya the clicks: “You pretend to have ignored posts by stevestojan” and, the fan favorite, ⬆️ Hoax.
  12. “No one will show up to the No Kings protests.” Millions around the country show up. “They were paid to be there.” 😂😂😂 Curious if the payment is in cash, so it’s under the table, or is it income they have to declare? What are the logistics? The payroll department at the HQ of the dEeP sTaTe must be working overtime today today - think they get time and a half? And how much was it? Like a $20 spot? Or are we talking decent money? Maybe it’s in TrumpCoin? People showed up in numbers orders of magnitude higher than the squeaky wheel parade so they MUST HAVE BEEN PAID! The absurdity is wonderful today. 😂
  13. The best part - hidden in the rest of that embarrassment - is Donnie proved he doesn’t know the difference between weather and climate. To be clear, climate change is about 8 billionth on my list of daily worries. I think it’s overblown. But to say meteorologists got the weather wrong on one day and extrapolating that to mean that no one can look at long term trends on the climate once against just begs for this county’s entire voting public to find two guys who don’t vividly remember the 1940s and have some level of cognition. On both sides. I’m really interested to see what happens in 2028 and if we’ll learn anything as a country. But I don’t have my hopes up.
  14. It’s stuff like this that just makes me shake my head at die hard MAGAs. I mean this is just objectively false. And not just MAGAs will quote it as fact but Donnie and Karoline will too. Without batting an eye. When you lie about completely meaningless stuff like this, it’s leads most rational folks to think you’ll lie about anything. Not sure why that’s so lost on some on the right. If Donnie ever came out and said an adult thing like “we were disappointed with the turn out but we’re onto the next thing” he would gain some respect. But we know his ego is only capable of saying it was the largest, best, biggest, parade turnout in the history of parades (or so “people are telling me.”) It’s such narcissistic behavior that it truly mutes anything good he has done or will do. It’s behavior I’ll correct from my son when he turns two.
  15. Fair. Still found in humorous.
  16. I would just argue that when the general theme of the hyperbole/memes pointed at the right (or MAGA at least) is that they are lesser in intelligence (again, not saying that, but that’s the trope) telling the world that a fireworks show left you speechless isn’t helping the cause.
  17. My wife got me the entire tragically hip discology on CD - I’m not cool enough to go vinyl but recently bought a standalone CD player because I just like it and I find when using streaming I pick the same handful of songs over and over. A+ gift! And a hoodie with “City of Good Neighbors” on the front. Awesome for living out here in CA. she killed it. Oh, and she took our toddler for a little outing (as first time parents we do nearly 100% of weekend activities together) so I could get my best gift ever - a nap.
  18. And has a larger turnout. “At a loss for words” over a fireworks show. They write their own punchlines.
  19. This is his year to put up or literally shut up.
  20. At a loss for words after a fireworks show? When I took my 16 month old to DisneyLand last month, after the fireworks show (which they do nightly) he said “WOW!!” then ate another cookie.
  21. Can’t wait to see Karoline’s response to the inevitable question about the one stat that Donnie finds most important - crowd size. Looks like the “No Kings” crowds far surpassed the headcount of the Army parade; even in many individual cities, including DC, so he can’t blame the less than ideal weather. When asked about the MAHA report just having flat out made up sources, she claimed it was “formatting errors.” Then when they removed the AI generated sources or the sources that literally contradicted the body of the report, she stood her ground that those were the same formatting errors she referenced. 😂 Let’s see how she spins this one, since we know Don will make sure that answer is scripted perfectly. Where did we find our last four press secretaries? A community college Toast Masters class? And I’ll save one of you the handful of keystrokes: ⬆️ Hoax 😂
  22. 😂😂😂😂😂 https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/s/jqtJj2AgDs
  23. Drove through LA on my way back from a funeral yesterday. If you zoom out from the three pictures of the “hellscape” you keep seeing on the news, I can assure you, the only thing attacking LA at present is sunshine and horrific traffic (see: a normal Friday). Both sides of the media are posting a handful of zoomed in (literally and figuratively) photos to show the “libs torching cars” and the military “attacking” said “libs.” Get off your couch and the internet for a while folks. The country is not burning.
  24. Only tangentially related, an I the only one who loathes parades in general? Parades of all sorts block streets, if you’re odd enough to actually attend one, you’re forced to stand shoulder to shoulder with the general public with varying levels of personal hygiene, and there’s never a good place or enough places to take a leak. All for the chance to see a bunch of people stroll by for 90 seconds while you hope to get a chance to stare at them, assuming no one is blocking your view. If I were the type to believe in something like Hell, the Macys Thanksgiving day parade in perpetuity would be up there with my best possible description. Now get off my lawn so I can yell at a cloud in the sky in peace.
  25. How did China sneak its way into this thread?
