Looks like the Penix pick for the Falcons might just pay off long term. Kid is looking good. The financial move with Cousins was abysmal, but I like the pick.

Long term strategy wise, letting the patriots win is clearly better for the Bills. I don’t care how many people say that the Pats front office is so inept they they’ll likely screw up the first pick anyway. Having a divisional opponent the first pick (which I assume they would trade for more picks) is never good. That said, as the HC, do you just run as vanilla as possible or is there ever an actual word spoken about playing off the ball more (if that’s possible with the bills D) or anything else said. Likely not to players, but I just wonder what the real conversations are like.

see I think that’s wrong. It DOES mean something to you if they trade it for a couple impactful 2nds. we play them twice a year and that could haunt us for a decade +.

I’m sure it’s been discussed in these ten pages, but if we beat NE, they get the #1 overall pick, correct? As awful as they are now, they can be franchise changing. Even though this draft class isn’t setting the world on fire, they could trade that pick for a huge amount of draft capital.

I’m not the “win no matter what” guy. Because look what the giants just did. The players felt good for a minute and the franchise potentially stalled for 2-3 years longer by fumbling the #1 pick. The pats getting the #1 overall pick is not insignificant, no matter how bad they are now. We want them to be laughable for a long time. And getting the 1 or trading it for a ton of draft picks is not something I want to see.
