Divisional Round: Buffalo at KC Sunday at 6:30
FilthyBeast replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everyone knows the Bills defense is very good but the metrics are misleading for a number of reasons, specially the amount of rookie/backup QB's this team has faced through the course of the year. Conversely you can say the same about the Chiefs as well considering how they stacked good games in the 2nd half of the season against a lot of poor matchups. But at end of the day, anyone expecting the Bills defense to come close to replicating what they did in October or last week is kidding themselves. Wallace and Jackson are going to get picked and exposed big time like they did against Brady and the Bucs but the question is whether or not Allen and the offense can come close to having the performance they did against Patriots on the road against a much different team and QB. -
Upon further review ... Spencer Brown is a BALLER
FilthyBeast replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a completely different oline than when the Bills faced the Chiefs in October which is important considering the Chiefs defense is also a completely different unit since that matchup, particularly with the addition of Melvin Ingram on the outside and Chris Jones healthy and back in the middle of the line. -
Who would you rather face next week?
FilthyBeast replied to Captain Caveman's topic in The Stadium Wall
This type of thread is the epitome of bad karma and despite what anyone else wants to believe there's still probably at least a 65-70% chance the Chiefs move on and the Bills season comes to an end Sunday night. -

I just hope the Bills win this game. It's not going to be easy and will no doubt be decided in the final minutes but it would go a long way to truly changing the national narrative and endless slobbering over the Chiefs. -

This I agree with, Kelce will probably go down as the best TE in NFL history and never has their been a guy like him at the position that can take a 5 yard dump off and turn it into a 40+ yard gain. Knox is impressing and hopefully can continue to wreak havoc in KC next week. -

Pretty much and this is where I still have doubts and wish Allen and the offense would have save some of what they unloaded against the Pats for next week because history has shown Allen rarely puts together back to back elite performances where it's been the norm for Mahomes. One thing is for sure, if McDermott and Frazier paid attention tonight they better come up with the gameplan of their lives on defense to bring maximum pressure and take chances all night because only a fool would think Wallace and Jackson are going to be up to task and without White there are so many ways the Chiefs can kill you even if you take away one of Kelce/Hill. -

If they go into KC and win again, and more importantly go on to win a SB you probably have a valid argument. But I still think most folks outside of Buffalo wouldn't think choice on that choice and take the guy whose been to 2 SB's and already has a ring. You are going to see it all week with the national media anyway. I wanted to believe this guy was a fluke and the Chiefs would fade into obscurity but it's not happen anytime soon and to put up 400+ yards after the start the Chiefs had says a lot about how Mahomes is simply playing on another planet compared to the rest of the league. -
I could definitely see this line moving upwards a bit during the course of the week especially as the national media fawns all over Mahomes and the Chiefs and completely disregards what Allen and the Bills did to the Patriots. In some ways it's probably a good thing the Bills are the underdogs here again.

I love what this team showed last night against the Pats and the statement that Allen and McDermott made vanquishing a past demon. They have proven me wrong and I actually am happy about that. BUT....KC is a different animal especially on their home field and this is a team that finished the season winning 10 of 11 including tonight with the only loss coming in the final minutes against another hot team on the road. I still hate the fact that this team did what they needed to earlier in the season and won in KC when they were in early season figure it out mode which should have secured the home field advantage over them in such a high stakes game next week, but now they have to go do it again in much different circumstances and with Chris Jones back in the lineup and he was the single reason the Bills offense was destroyed last year. Bottom line is Mahomes is truly showing he very well might be the next transcendent player in this league and I hate the idea of watching the Chiefs be in the SB almost every year like the Brady Pats and feeding the national media hype machine. And speaking of Brady that's the only QB to ever beat Mahomes in the postseason. It's all there for the Bills next week as they face a true defining moment in their franchise history and if they can't beat the Chiefs when it actually matters in a postseason game (regardless of venue) they likely never will. -
True but they also played us close for 3 quarters as well and on the road. I'm still not betting against Brady though despite the Bucs current injury issues. GB has the best shot in the NFCCG again if they make it that far.

Patriots LT Isaiah Wynn is OUT vs Bills
FilthyBeast replied to Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wynn is a big time loss but would still be concerned with the Pats ability to run the ball and Belichik knows the best strategy to win this game keep Allen and the Bills offense off the field with long sustained drives similar to to the first matchup. -
I'm honestly surprised that was the only guy that picked the Pats to win against the Bills, let alone make it to the AFC Championship. Also shocked none of these guys have Brady and Bucs in the SB or winning it.

Would have sucked to see Frazier get screwed over like this. And whether it's Flores or someone else seems like the Texans job is going to have a lot of pressure attached to it right of the bat.
-
Sorry if already posted, more than half pick Bills to get to SB and one has them winning it: https://www.si.com/nfl/2022/01/14/mmqb-staff-super-bowl-56-predictions

Obviously I take nothing away from the great KW, hence the 'lite' designation. But this is another guy I was dead wrong about but that's a good thing. Question now is if we are going to be able to keep him especially if Frazier gets a HC gig as expected and tries to poach this roster and/or someone else offers a huge deal that we simply can't match.
-
That's the only way this make sense and why the Texans essentially are screwing Culley over is because they did not think Flores would be available and/or Watson told them he would stay and play next year if the coaching change is made.
-
Talk about another dumpster fire organization and I bet Frazier if anyone is thrilled he didn't end up getting the job last year. What exactly was the expectation with one of the worst rosters in the NFL this year? Even if there wasn't any off the field issues with Watson and he started all year they weren't going anywhere.

Shaq Lawson possibly returning to Buffalo
FilthyBeast replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
If it was for more money or to the active roster then that's a different story but again, what would be the point and who gets released/benched for him given how well the dline has played in recent weeks. -
Shaq Lawson possibly returning to Buffalo
FilthyBeast replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still not sure how a simple deal to bring a guy to a PS on the cheap falls through unless the Bills did some more due dilligence on what has happened with Lawson the last few years and why he's bounced around. Either way this somewhat of a weird mini-distraction right before this team is gearing up on a playoff run. -
That's the whole point, if they are at the ceiling/overachieving with Bisaccia why wouldn't you bring him back, give him a full offseason with new draft/FA additions and see what happens.

So...what does the hoodie have up his sleeve?
FilthyBeast replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I read an article earlier about Judon disappearing every since they won in Buffalo and it's pretty telling considering how they finished the season 1-3 with him being a non factor. So willing to bet they definitely want to try and get him going early in that game to gain confidence and have their defense looking like it did earlier in the season when they went on a run because they know they have to make Allen look closer to what he did in the first game (and similar struggles this year) to win. Also ST is something to watch depending on who is returning kicks for the Bills because I have a hard time seeing them put Hyde out there again. -
Nick Write Super Wildcard Tiers. (Did ya miss him?)
FilthyBeast replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes this is the sad reality and even if the Bills win in impressive fashion against the Patriots again it's going to be all about Belichik, Mac Jones, etc. Nobody is going to pick the Bills to have a chance in KC either if that matchup does in fact materialize. -
On the flipside of this equation, assuming the Steelers do lose it might be in the Bills best interest for the Chiefs to flex their muscles in this game so to speak and get overconfident heading into next week against the Bills if they advance. Because in some ways I think the Bills went into the AFCG last year as the overconfident team especially with Mahomes getting hurt against the Browns the prior week and them barely hanging on to advance. And despite the building and early 9-0 lead it was all Chiefs from there on out.

I would love to see what happens if the Bills go to KC again next week and win and Mahomes plays like crap in the process.
