It was a hard loss AND we closed the gap
FilthyBeast replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
That and being 0-6 in one score games. And it's still mind boggling how something like this could happen in terms of winning 12 games by 12 more points but losing 6 of 7 games by a single score. -
The ESPN win probability for the Chiefs Bill's game
FilthyBeast replied to Bing Bong's topic in The Stadium Wall
Does anybody know if there has ever been another team in NFL history (playoffs or regular season) to tie or win a game with 13 seconds or less left? I know there was more than 13 seconds left in the music city miracle after the Bills scored to take the lead. Just get the feeling this is yet another infamous record the Bills have probably set. -
Isaiah McKenzie aka, Lil Dirty, sounds like he’s moving on
FilthyBeast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even if he don't go with Daboll another team will probably be willing to offer him more money than the Bills would. -
While I agree about it being a job, the passion was there last night from both of these teams, QBs, coaches, etc. This was a defining moment in all their lives and for the Bills players that will be back on the 2022 roster they will have to be the ones that do whatever they can to move on from this loss and change the course of the franchise's history.

That's just it, next year...5 years from now....20 years from now when this game is looked back on the only thing that anyone will remember is the winner of the game, especially if we are looking back in hindsight at another Chiefs SB win and Mahomes having as many rings on his finger as Brady. Just tired of constantly being on the losing end of these type of games and you really have to wonder if this franchise will ever win a game that matters.

It’s time to trade for an Edge Rusher
FilthyBeast replied to BillMafia716ix's topic in The Stadium Wall
At this point it may be time for Beane to go full LA Rams and start handing out 1st round picks for immediate help. Because if last night proved anything again is that the defense and scheme is still the problem and you can't 'run it back' again and assume the results will be different. They won't. Either way change is imminent and there's close to zero chance that both Hughes and Addison will be back. Pretty sure both played their last snaps in Buffalo last night. -
Let's say they change the rules so each team gets a possession even if a TD is scored. Mahomes and the Chiefs scored a TD after winning the toss. Then the Bills do the same. Chiefs get the ball again then score another TD. My point is what is the point of changing the rules if that's the case? We weren't stopping them and if anything the coin toss is what matters and you obviously can't change that.

Highest QB rating ever in the playoffs, just inexcusable for this season to be over in the 2nd round.
-
Honestly what do you do moving forward?
FilthyBeast replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's not rocket science at play here, you do what Brandon Beane commented on last year and what should have been the case this year.....play consistent football all season and secure home field advantage in the playoffs against the Chiefs. But in between you certainly need a different direction on defense, continue to improve the trenches, and this is probably the year you have to be willing to make a big splash trade and give up 1st round picks like the Rams and other contenders have done. -
Anybody welcome the team back from the airport?
FilthyBeast replied to Westside's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have no problem with fans that choose to do this but at some point you have to expect more and can't continue to enabling gut wrenching losses and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. -
These threads are unbearable after losses
FilthyBeast replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall
At the end of the day 31 NFL teams and fanbases end up disappointed. But there is no sugar coating the situation when it really was starting to feel like this was the Bills year and there simply are no guarantees they will keep getting chances like this every year especially as long as Mahomes is upright and playing postseason games for the Chiefs. And with many other young up and coming QB's in the AFC it makes the future muddled at best. -
It was a hard loss AND we closed the gap
FilthyBeast replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
You don't close the gap until you win. Josh Allen had the best performance ever in the NFL playoffs by a QB and it wasn't enough to get out of the divisional round. I'm not going to pile on McDermott as a knee jerk reaction like most but the question remains whether or not he's going to ever be able to take this team to a SB and/or win a championship. -

I think it's a no brainer he ends up in NY with Daboll assuming that's close to a done deal. -
I wouldn't be surprised by this. He just had another child born and his family still lives in KC area. Also have to factor in his concussion history too.

How many chances does McDermott have left?
FilthyBeast replied to Igotbills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've been a huge critic of McDermott but sometimes you can't stop fate and it might be time to finally acknowledge that there is something to this talk that Mahomes not only may be the next Tom Brady, but something much more special if that's even possible. With that said Josh Allen just finished the playoffs with the best ever passer rating (min 50 attempts) at 149.0. The previous best was Joe Montana in 1989 @ 146.6 and Bart Starr in 1966 @ 135.6. Both of them went on to win the SB. Just not sure there is nothing else this team can do other than secure home field in a playoff game against the Chiefs for the best chance of stopping them and ending another nightmare for the rest of the league. -
Divisional Round: Buffalo at KC Sunday at 6:30
FilthyBeast replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
It truly makes your head spin pondering so much data and potential in game scenarios, envisioning the day the Bills climb the pinnacle of the AFC or are relegated to an afterthought one more season. A huge win or crushing defeat...proving critics right or wrong. Anxiety is high, that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach, heart palpitations, eye twitching, tension headache......it will all either be relieved or extended to next week depending on the outcome of this game. Let's not forget the daily covid list monitoring which could instantly derail an entire gameplan for an entire team. Sunday night can't get here soon enough... -

I'm just trying to wrap my head around what sense it makes to post lines for hypothetical matchups next week. Regardless was curious of the source of this information because they likely have lines for every possible match up in the conference championship games. -

FilthyBeast replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sure but what about the Chiefs? Assuming the same lines if not favored by more? -
If you look at Reid's history, you'd see he cares very little about personal/off the field issues and is the epitome of living and breathing football 24/7. Remember he had another son who was on the Eagles coaching staff that died of a heroin overdose right before the 2012 season. He was advised to step away and resign and declined. Eagles went 4-12 that year and he was fired anyway. Everyone thought he was step away from coaching but went right to KC the next year as HC. I'm not trying to attack the guys character but between the aforementioned circumstances with his children (including his other son's incident last year) and bringing in the type of players he has it's pretty clear he just doesn't care about 'culture' and outside distractions. It also says a lot considering the Chiefs have been to 2 straight SB's and 3 straight AFCCG's but this is what McDermott and this team are up against.

Referee tendencies could lead to physical Bills vs. Chiefs game
FilthyBeast replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've said all along that Jones is an elite defensive player, probably the best DT in the league behind Aaron Donald. And while this oline has been great in recent weeks and Felciano will hopefully be nowhere on the field come Sunday, I still worry in the back of my mind that this guy is going to demolish our interior which is where Allen always seems to struggle (and turn the ball over). Also don't forget that Melvin Ingram lit up Dawkins in week one against the Steelers when he was still there. Obviously Dawkins was not even close to playing at the level he is now then coming off his covid battle, but it's another matchup worth noting and was a very overlooked inseason move by the Chiefs to shore up their defense. At the end of the day if the Bills offensive line holds up against the Chiefs dline and controls the line off scrimage they should definitely win this game. -

I really hope you're right. Either way I can't wait for Sunday night to be over with because the anxiety is hitting extra hard this week. -
Texans getting closer to hiring Josh McCown as Head Coach
FilthyBeast replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
This is strange, I wonder if the Texans overplayed their hand and moved on from Culley because they thought for sure Flores would want to be there but then possibly declined? (specially because he knows Watson is never playing there again). -
Are coaches always to blame - McD, Frazier & Daboll?
FilthyBeast replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Taking last week's PO game out of the equation, the common theme with this team this season when they've played well is playing aggressive. Specifically the first matchup against the Chiefs and the key road game in NE. Even in the loss against the Titans McDermott opted to go for the win instead of the tie even though it was unsuccessful. So if this game ends up being similar to last year's AFCCG and McD at any point settles for a field goal in the redzone instead of going for a TD on 4th down that will ultimately dictate the outcome of this game especially if we are in situation where were are trailing by a TD or more. The realization simply has to be there that FG's aren't going to cut it and I expect Andy Reid to also play similarly against the Bills because that's been his MO for some time.
