Give Peterman credit for hanging around in this league for so long after such a disaster in Buffalo. Would still love to see him play in another regular season game someday and see if he fares any better.

The fact that the Jets had 7 players claimed shows how overblown late round picks and back end roster guys are. Sure there's always going to be a few guys that end up going to be decent players on another team, or in very rare cases probowl caliber, but every year fans make too big of a deal about cutting guys they think should have been kept.

Will Devin Singletary be a 1,000 yard back this year?
FilthyBeast replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
I say no because this offense is still going to be pass first with Allen getting yards on the ground and Cook likely being a major factor in both the ground and passing game. Also we'll probably waste a fair share of carries on Moss as long as he's still on the roster. -
Were the Bills "Hiding" Cook's skillset in the preseason?
FilthyBeast replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not sure what exactly they would be trying to hide because his skill set speaks for itself. Won't be surprised if he's eventually starting for this team and getting the bulk of the carries by the end of the year. -
Which player on the roster baffles you that they are on this team?
FilthyBeast replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
For me it's all these ST guys that this regime has an unhealthier obsession with than Dick Jauron did. It's fine to have one key core ST player like the 90's teams did with Steve Tasker but we are wasting roster space and money on much more than that. I also don't see the appeal with McKenzie personally and think he'll flame out quickly once and for all this year. -
Bills show what a class organization they are
FilthyBeast replied to marck's topic in The Stadium Wall
I honestly don't care and they are former players for a reason, just hope this season gets off to a decent start or you know the doom and gloom on this board may reach unprecedented levels... -
You almost wonder if the Orchard Park area's housing market is artificially inflated because of all the Bills players that live in the immediate area vs some of the other high end Buffalo suburbs. Crazy to think that a home in Buffalo could possibly fetch that kind of money though.

Bills show what a class organization they are
FilthyBeast replied to marck's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beasely, Feliciano, Quinten Spain, etc. have all hinted that the perceived culture in Orchard Park isn't what fans think. Beasely in particular asked to be released and was granted that wish and Feliciano hinted at the dysfunction behind the scenes with the 13 second debacle and how poorly it was handled and addressed afterword. Doesn't mean the Bills organization is a dumpster fire because they are not, but this punt god nonsense was enabled by Beane/McD right up until the day this story broke last week. I'd be lying if deep down I wasn't very concerned about a possible nightmare scenario playing out this year with a very bad start given the opening schedule and things going off the rails quickly.... -
Belichick: September might be an extended preseason
FilthyBeast replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interesting comments by the hoodie but if you think about it last year the Pats started 1-3 and took some time to find themselves. I think the biggest concern I would have as a Pats fan is what on early they are doing with the OC position and playcalling given how critical of a year it is for Mac Jones and his development. I get that Patricia is well versed in the 'patriot way' given his previous stint there but it really makes no sense asking a defensive coach to change sides so to speak on the fly. If this doesn't work out and the Pats crash and burn this year it will be a real bad look for Belichik who many already see as the GOAT. -

FilthyBeast replied to marck's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not sure I see it that way, if anything it shows there is a trouble in paradise so to speak and validates what a recent former players have said about the Bills culture and front office. Just a horrendous look and proves no real due diligence was done here or he would have never been drafted in the first place. -
I've been critical of Bean in the past but misfiring on Howard pales in comparison to some of his other failures like trading Wyatt Teller, Vernon Butler, Star L, etc. But the bigger issue here is just because Morris and Sweeney both presumably make the final roster don't mean they are any good vs. Howard being that bad/finished in the NFL.

Jimmy G takes pay cut, staying with Niners
FilthyBeast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Smart move for both sides. The Lance hype is ridiculous and have a feeling the 49ers also see the inevitable in terms of him struggling and not being a legit starting QB in this league. -
Matt Araiza accused of rape, served with a lawsuit.
FilthyBeast replied to bill8164's topic in Off the Wall
It's really disappointing and even though I'm still skeptical of this regimes long term viability, the handling of this situation is a true rookie mistake and terrible look for the organization the longer he's on the roster. Hopefully any minute we'll see news of his release and not having a punter available in a meaningless preseason game is far from the worst thing that can happen. -
"Flacco on fire" in Jets camp / Mims requests trade (p.5)
FilthyBeast replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still don't see the Jets as any real threat to the Bills compared to the Pats/Dolphins. But bears watching since they were a very scrappy team at the end of the season last year which the Bills know from the regular season finale and could seem them around .500 if everything falls into place. AFC East is definitely going to be one of the tougher divisions in football in the next few years. -

What's really concerning to me aside from the fact this guy isn't a former Bill yet and they already dumped Hauck shows the over the top obsession this regime has with garbage players and Special teams. How much use is any punter on this team really going to get on a week to week basis? -
Anybody Concerned About Our Defensive Backfield?
FilthyBeast replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall
The lack of awareness in adequately addressing the DB position for a team with SB aspirations is downright pathetic. Drafting one in the first round is great on the surface but the schedule is very unforgiving this year and I fear Elam's long term development could be ruined if he struggles early which is very likely Beane and McD love playing 'the smartest guy in the room' card but now with a certain punter situation combined with this and a very dark cloud is hanging over the start of the season less than 2 weeks from now. -

This team is apparently determined to create any distraction possible when there is enough pressure as it is heading into the season and a brutal first few months of the season. It's...a....rookie....late round....punter....CUT HIM. -
I wouldn't do anything with Whites deal for a number of reasons. And I don't see this team handing out any more extensions right now either given the tough decisions that are going to be made next offseason. Beane did mention a restructure but probably would be with one of the backup/role player types on the roster.
-
There's a good chance this team is sitting around .500 after the first half of the season given the schedule and how many good QB/offenses we face. We don't need to rush him, but we also should have adequately addressed the DB position in FA instead of relying on rookies, including a 1st rounder that doesn't look like he's ready to make a meaningful contribution right away and whose career could be adversely impacted by forcing him into the lineup against some of the league's elite QB/WR combos we are going to see in the first half of the season. As for the continued word salad from McD/Beane/etc they know he's likely not ready and won't be any time soon hence the 'run out the clock' type of comment because once he is put on PUP or IR they don't have to answer media questions anytime soon.

One thing that always stands out with Ford for me is I remember he was posting pics on social media of gaudy jewlery, new cars, etc after signing his rookie contract before playing a down in the NFL. Obviously not the only guy to do this pro sports but thought there was a clear pattern there and showed what he really cared about instead of being humble and knowing the NFL is a different ball game and you have to earn everything despite draft status. Maybe being reunited with Kyler Murray will be good for him but still don't see him every amounting to much in this league.
-
Can respect Beane for this statement but overall he has been pretty dreadful when drafting in the trenches on both sides of the ball so far with Teller being the only big hit and ironically drafting Ford was one of the main reason he was traded to the Browns.
-
Drake had a pretty solid run with the Dolphins/Cards, including a near 1000 yard season in 2020. But just goes to show how little RB's are valued in this league which is another reason Beane should pounce on any reasonable offer for Zack Moss if that's a possibility.

This is a bit of a puzzling move. Nothing against Boettger, but he's really a dime of dozen type of player and given the nature of his injury I don't believe there is any real chance he plays this year so seems like putting him on IR for the season would have been a better decision and let him compete for roster spot next year.
