I would disagree if anything because Kenny Pickett had one of the most hollow 300+ yard games in NFL history with just about all of the yardage coming in garbage time. Poyer definitely needs to be in the lineup against the Chiefs though to realistically win this game.

If we are talking just a one year rental which would involve a late round pick + throw away players like Zack Moss why not? But I think anything more than that doesn't make sense for a number of reasons.
-
Keenam also had a decent run in a while back after taking over as the starter there but I'd still rather not see him thrust into full time action again in Buffalo. I think the bigger picture with any backup QB is the quality of the defense supporting him and that would be the only reason this team would have a chance if Allen were ever to miss time.
-
I believe it does because when I look at the rest of the AFC it's mostly garbage outside MIA/BAL/CIN/LAC who I think will fill out the AFC playoff field along with BUF, KC + the AFCS Winner (who right now would be the Titans and Bills already handled them as well). Bills already beat BAL and have another game against MIA and CIN late in the season. I also believe this team is different now and not going to squander a regular season head to head victory against KC should that happen again this year. They understand they can't go there in the playoffs and let that decide their fate again. Make Mahomes and KC come to Buffalo at least have a better shot and winning the game.

Yes but he was also an NFL coach prior to going to the college ranks. Just think that in the case of guys like Rhule, Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier, etc there is a reason why they all failed miserably at the NFL level.
-
Back up QB's are back ups for a reason. And whether it's Keenam, Trubisky, Barkley, etc this would not be the same team if any of them have to play meaningful snaps in the past, present, future, etc.
-
Lost in all the excitement is Zack Moss only had a few carries yesterday and hopefully this was forshadowing his future here because I've said all along that Singletary is the clear RB1 and Cook should be getting the rest of the snaps.

Hot take: Shakir should be the starting slot receiver going forward
FilthyBeast replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
This isn't a hot take at all especially when you look at how little Crowder has done before his injury anyway. Something tells me though that Shakir is still going to take a back seat to McKenzie when he's healthy, at least for now. -
Small sample size, but games like yesterday are probably why Edmunds walks after this season especially if he continues to play his way out of Buffalo anyway from a contract perspective.
-
Shows how valuable he is to their team but I don't think it would have changed the outcome in a lot of these games this season as the Steelers are clearing in a full blown rebuilding mode now and there's no avoiding the inevitable in terms of Tomlin having a losing season for the first time in his long career.

I still have a hard time seeing the Bills being favored in KC and this is more motivation that Mahomes and the Chiefs really don't need. But barring the Raiders upsetting the Chiefs tonight these teams are clearly on a collision course next week in a game that likely decides the #1 seed in the AFC which isn't an overstatement this early in the season.

If NFL teams are smart they'll never hire a college coach again especially after the Urban Meyer fiasco last year.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
FilthyBeast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
It just goes to show that the Bills game was Miami's SB and how that entire organization was determined to prove they can win against us. But Tua had zero business playing in Cincy on a short week and there still needs to be accountability somewhere for such an egregious error.. -
Singletary was close to fumbling with seconds remaining
FilthyBeast replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the biggest reason that this coaching staff is still holding on hope with Zack Moss is Singletary's history with protecting the ball. With that said, this play in particular is a non issue because he didn't fumble and most NFL players have this happen over the course of the year given the physical nature of the game and how aggressive NFL players are in terms of going for the football on defense. At the end of the day it's Singletary as RB1 or bust in 2022 even if James Cook starts playing more and shows something. -
WR - Almost as Decimated as Secondary
FilthyBeast replied to OldTimer1960's topic in The Stadium Wall
If this Shakir kid stays healthy I could see him mirroring Gabe Davis production as a rookie in this offense. A lot of pundits feel he was a true steal in the 5th round similar to Davis in the 4th a few years ago and I'm also drinking that koolaid right now based on his limited body of work. The way he moves on the field is not like a rookie and has looked liked he belongs since training camp. Having JA17 throwing the ball to him doesn't hurt either. -
Who does Tre take over for when he returns?
FilthyBeast replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I still don't think White is going to be much of a factor this year in terms of him picking up where he left off pre injury. But the obvious choice would probably be Dane Jackson unless the rookies start to struggle. Also don't rule out the possibility of Taron Johnson actually being the DB that's replaced or see's his snap counts decrease significantly in favor or any of White/Jackson/Elam/Benford in the slot corner role. -
Didn't Keenam sign a multi year deal? If so can't imagine why we would get rid of him for Trubisky or anybody else. Also based on how Trubisky has fared in his 2nd (and likely last) stint as an NFL starter why on earth would you want him back in Buffalo as an option to start meaningful football games?
-
A true upset would be the Steelers over the Bills which I can't see happening even if we sit a bunch of iffy guys to get them healthy for next week. Won't be surprised if the Raiders give KC a game but not picking them to upset.
-
Basham has definitely looked good so far this year, but it's hard to see him being anything more than a rotational guy in the near term as long as Groot and Miller are healthy and on this roster. But yeah I'd still trade him in a heartbeat for Humprhey if we could go back to last years draft. This dude is a flat out stud and best center in the league in just his 2nd year. And sucks that he'll be snapping the ball to a QB like Mahomes for the next 10 - 15 years.

Allen is the Bills only short yardage option
FilthyBeast replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's my point, he's actually the better short yardage option for that reason alone which makes Moss usage even more puzzling. Hopefully we don't have to talk about Zack Moss much longer. -
Brady /Gisellle hire divorce attorneys
FilthyBeast replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in Off the Wall
In a way I kind of feel bad for Brady because if he and the Bucs fizzle out this season and don't do much it will truly be going out with a whimper vs a bang so to speak. Also can be a convenient excuse for Brady and the Bucs struggles if that happens. On the flipside, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Brady won't have much of a problem finding another supermodel to date or marry if he wants to. -
Now is the time we need Cook to start playing well
FilthyBeast replied to Orlando Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
History has shown that this coaching staff likes to bring along rookies slowly in most cases, especially when they make mistakes or don't execute early which has been Cook's story so far. But now with the current WR depth chart and injury issues, the time is simply now to get him more involved especially since his strength is more of a receiver and why Beane drafted him. -
Allen is the Bills only short yardage option
FilthyBeast replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
When you think about it Singletary would be perfect for short yardage because he's a smallish back that can slip through the oline, and has more than enough power to his game. This is why I still don't trust McD, horrendous personel decisions and yes your are right about Zack Moss being terrible at everything. It's simply time to move on and make him inactive or just release him. -
In other words JA17 is trying to tell McD and the coaching staff to stop wasting valuable carriers on a useless player like Zack Moss.
