For me I think it has to be someone on the defense to force Mahomes into mistakes/missed throws. Would be great for Ed Oliver to have a monster game coming back presumably 100% healthy in this one but going up against what might bet he best center/guard combo in the league in Humprhey/Thuney is asking a lot, so might have to be someone else like Milano or Edmunds that makes an impact and game changing play.

Personally I don't hate any NFL team, even the Pats during their NFL/AFC East dominance the greater part of 20 years. And regarding the Chiefs/Mahomes, that feeling is pretty much the same other than maybe Travis Kelce who seems like one of those smug ahole types that you'd love to punch in the face. But then again when you are on your way to being the best TE in NFL history it kind of comes with that territory. Also think Chris Jones is one of those dirty type of players too but he's a top 5 defensive player in this league. But in the bigger picture, if the Chiefs fulfill the trajectory I think their on which is becoming the next Pats/Brady situation have to imagine a lot of Bills fans aren't going to be pleased especially if it means no sustained SB runs or a lombardi trophy in Buffalo and we are just second fiddle to the Chiefs every year. That is why this Sunday is the first step in terms trying to alter history, or simply accepting the inevitable.

Bailey Zappe coming for McCorkle’s job?
FilthyBeast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've watched this Zappe kid the last few weeks and it's hard not to be impressed with what he's done. You can knock Belichik for some of the Pats bad draft picks in recent years but when it comes to QB he certainly has a eye for talent. Still think Mac Jones is going to be the starter though but if Zappe plays well again this week and the Pats keep winning it will make things very interesting Foxboro. Just pray to god that they haven't found another late round QB steal in Zappe. -
If you are being serious, yes this is the correct answer. At least a present. This team has a chance to finally change that and it starts on Sunday. And no matter what anybody says (including the coaches and players) it's not just another game.

And the Bills have also had a top 10 defense every year under McD/Frazier including last year and how did that turn out? A blowout loss at Arrowhead in the AFCCG is McD/Allen's career achievement, why haven't they been able to do what Mahomes and Reid have under similar circumstances?
-
I'm not disputing what Mahomes walked into vs Allen, my point is that he's been great from day one and the only reason he didn't start out of the gate as a rookie is because Alex Smith had a ridiculously good season and best of his career in 2017. Mahomes has also been to 4 straight AFC Championships, 2 SB's, and one championship. They certainly didn't have anything close to the Bills on defense the entire time he's been there. Also disagree about the magnitude of this game on Sunday, I do believe that if the Chiefs win they are well on thier way to a unprecedented 5th straight AFC championship game at home. Which means the chances of the Bills getting a SB decreases exponentially. If the Bills are going to change the course of history and whatever destiny lies ahead for Mahomes it starts this Sunday. They have to force this guy to at least play one road playoff game for the first time in his career.

Please don't have refs play a role on Sunday
FilthyBeast replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the MNF game was any indication the refs will swing KC's direction in a major way the minute they are trailing or struggling against the Bills this week. So hopefully the Bills don't piss all over themselves like the Raiders did in the 2nd half. -
The fact he publicly mentioned he's prefer to go back to the Rams but money/contract was an issue is reason enough to not try and sign him here. I've said all along if we make any big in season moves it needs to be for OL and/or DB reinforcements and that's pretty much it.

My biggest concern with this matchup is coaching, I still don't trust McD against his former mentor and boss when it really matters and the 13 seconds debacle was a microsm of that. I also wonder about the fact that Mahomes has been great his entire career with varying degrees of talent around him, while the Bills pretty much have needed to assemble a superteam just to have a chance to finally get past KC this year. In the end the 2022 is going to be a defining season for this franchise in that we either finally climb the mountain and throw the chiefs over the side of it on the way, or the realization sets in that the Bills are always going to be 2nd fiddle to the Chiefs and Mahomes as another Brady/Pats situation manifests itself the next 15+ years.

Your points 2, 3, 4 and 10 are why KC is the better team and I have a hard time seeing the Bills beating them, especially in a january playoff game in BUF or KC. Beane has done a great job building depth on the DL, but we still don't have a true Chris Jones type of game wrecker in the middle. Yes Von Miller is still very good but Mahomes has proven he is a master of evading pressure from the edge and it's pressure up the middle that has been a problem for him and most QB's, including the worst game of his career in the SB against the Bucs a few years ago. Bills offensive line is all about finesse and one of the reasons the Raiders fared well last night and had a chance to win is because they were able to run the ball effectively. I'm still not sure the Bills can do this consistently which will ultimately be their downfall again in the playoffs.
-
Both teams should be motivated for a number of reasons but I still think this is a bigger game for the Bills for a number of reasons, if anything to help secure home field in the playoffs over KC. In the end the outcome really doesn't matter though even if the Bills win decisively again like they did last year in the regular season, all the matters is sending Mahomes and Chiefs home in the playoffs when it actually matters and until then it's still the Chiefs world that every is living in including the Bills.
-
Chiefs very well may have been looking ahead last night after falling behind early but they did what they always do and win which is what matters. And I hate being favored in their home stadium because it's going to give Mahomes and the entire team even more motivation to win and win big over the Bills this week.
-
Teams have been doing that all year and it hasn't worked. And whether you call it lucky or not all Mahomes has to do is literally throw it up for grabs when Kelce is in the vicinity and he'll come up with the ball 99 out 100 time which is essentially what happened last night on a few of his 4 TD receptions in the redzone.
-
Honestly what would be the point of this move anyway considering how loaded this team already is at the skill positions? If you want this offense to truly get better make a move for another veteran guard or TE. Conversely I'm still wary of the defensive backfield, so why not go after a proven veteran safety to replace Hyde or DB?
-
If Tua can come back and play at a similar level pre injury I still think they are a serious contender. They also have a favorable schedule and should be in line for a WC spot at worst but it's really all dependent on the QB situation right now.
-
I mentioned in another thread that this is a pretty much must win for the Raiders if they have any real hopes of staying in the playoff/division title picture. So I do expect them to give the Chiefs their best shot but in the end probably won't matter if the Chiefs are the team I think they are.
-
I'm really not sold on the Eagles and they feel a lot like the Cardinals from last year so don't be surprised if they fizzle out soon and finish with 10 or 11 wins. I'm also going to predict that the Cowboys win that division and hand them their first loss next week.
-
This guy is right up there with Ryan Leaf as one of the biggest top 10 draft pick busts of all time, especially at the QB position. Thank god the Bills didn't draft him.
-
That's my point as well, if the Chiefs were to do the Raiders what the Bills did to the Steelers yesterday it's definitely going to put the league on notice. They certainly answered big time last week in Tampa after their only loss of the season but have to believe Raiders can make this a ball game even in a loss.

If Allen stays healthy, will Bills win 11 in a row?
FilthyBeast replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Regardless of the outcome of next weeks massive game we'll know for sure coming out of the bye week.... -
This is another thing that concerns me about KC, unlike years past they are the ones that are pretty much 100% healthy right now. And the only reason they lost to the colts was because one of the best kickers in the league got hurt in that one. I think the only thing that would make the line move in KC's favor is they win something 45-0 because I think the Raiders are a much better one win team than the Steelers for what it's worth. Can also argue that Raiders season is somewhat on the line tonight at least for any hopes of staying in WC/Division title picture.

If Allen stays healthy, will Bills win 11 in a row?
FilthyBeast replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
KC is the only other game I see this team losing as of right now. So after next week it's very possible they come out of the bye week and go on a tear. But deep down I'd be lying if I still don't fear McD's coaching costing them a game or two that they should win the rest of the year and also why the #1 seed probably doesn't happen similar to last year after a big win in KC and everyone thought they'd breeze through the rest of the schedule. -
Gabe Davis...best deep threat in the NFL?
FilthyBeast replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Davis is a big time weapon and is still on pace for a big season despite missing a few games and playing hurt most of the year so far. -
In all fairness to the Dolphins they lost their backup QB who was the starter on the first play of the game (which is some sort of ironic karma for how the Tua situation was handled). I still think they are going to be a WC team at worst but their division title hopes hang in the balance of Tua being healthy and able to return pretty quick.
