I still can't see a scenario in which all our key FA's are back next year especially since the decision to keep Knox was already made. Still think Poyer is gone unless he's willing to take a big time discount but not sure he might get what he's looking for on the open market anyway based on what happened with honey badger in the offseason. Edmunds is also still very iffy IMO. Yes he seems to be having the quintessential contract year type of breakout, but i still think it has more to do with the dline in front of him and that's not always going to be the case just like his previous 4 years here. So at this point I think he's probably not going to be resigned and I'd rather another team give him a massive payday and take our chances with in the draft/FA to replace him.

Will this be the year Josh Allen joins the 5000 club?
FilthyBeast replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm going to say no if anything because there's likely going to be at least a few more games where he's pulled early like the Titans/Steelers games. Will probably see a lot more of Singletary and Cook down the stretch as well. I think he'll probably get very close though, like 4800 - 4900 yards. -
Won't be surprised if the Chiefs make a big time move, their current window is only going to be open for so long especially with Kelce given his age. Veach is similar to Beane though and values draft picks so don't think they'll go completely crazy like the Rams did last year, but if they can add one big time player they'll likely do it.

Sideline TEMPERATURE Dolphins v Vikings
FilthyBeast replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Who really cares, the Bills had no trouble winning there in previous years under similar conditions and this might be one of the few losses this team takes all year. Also looking more and more like this was miami's superbowl considering they haven't won a game since beating us. -
Josh Allen is the best quarterback, no... player in the NFL
FilthyBeast replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
True and we are 13 stupid seconds away from winning 3 straight games in Arrowhead which is absurd when you think about it. -
Lost in all the hype about White returning and the perceived depth of the secondary, is the Bills giving up back to back 300 yard passer games which has been a rarity by this regime. Granted last week against the Steelers it was truly hollow and mostly came in garbage time, but Mahomes still had a lot of success against this team other than the 2 turnovers which were the difference. As others have mentioned I still don't see White starting full time and being on more a snap count this season until they are 100% confident in him being back to form, if that even happens this year. Still won't be surprised if we see Xavier Rhodes at some point as well.

Jets defense looks very good but not impressed with the MILF hunter QB just yet. Anything is possible but I have a hard time seeing them leapfrog both the Pats and Dolphins for a potential WC spot.

Scott you are right which is why I'm still a bit skeptical about having to face them again in the playoffs, even in Buffalo. Joe Burrow and the Bengals are the only team to ever beat Andy Reid and Mahomes twice in a row and both of those games also went down the wire and could have went the other way last year. So there is still a very tall mountain yet to climb for this team should they meet again in January. -
You can argue that the AFCE is everything the AFCW was supposed to be. And between the AFCE and NFCE, one of them is going to be the best overall division this year when the dust settles. I think at this point it's the Bills are probably locked in for the division but they are going to be challenged in their remaining games against all 3 teams. Still think if Tua is healthy Miami is a WC team at worse. Jets looking much better than expected especially on defense. But it's our old friends in New England that we very well need to watch out for and they are about to go on a run similar to last year the way they are playing on both sides of the ball right now. This Zappe kid may not lose the starting job either for showing Bradyesque poise thus far.

McD has come a long way this year, and I don't even blame him for the long FG before halftime because it was great execution by the chiefs and a bit of luck. Just hoping he does the right thing and ends this little dirty crap and puts mckenzie on the bench the rest of the year. The fact Moss was inactive yesterday gives me hope.
-
He's had an up and down season so far but we've played some damn good defensive lines so far. Still like this upside but always leery of 2nd year players on this team. Thought Quessenbary stepped in and looked pretty good though should Brown be out for an extended out of time.

Personally it's still hard for me to make this argument until JA17 wins a SB, or even a playoff game against the Chiefs for that matter. But yesterday was another epic game and one QB led his team down the field late in the game, on the road in a hostile environment for the win. The game winning TD throw to Knox was truly ridiculous as well. The other QB threw a game clinching INT at home with a shot to come back and win the game which has not been the norm for him during his career so far and pretty sure most bills fans would be lying if they didn't hold their breath expecting the Chiefs to come back and win. Right now this is JA17 world and the rest of the NFL is living in it. -
It could very well be in the long run but given Belichik's track record with QB's and how good Mac Jones was as a rookie it's a bit early to make any final determinations. Back to Zappe though, this kid is very gritty and showed well in that offense. Was hoping the Pats would finally be dead and buried this year but they are determined to be a factor yet again in the AFC East and conference race.
-
Same here and after yesterday this is beginning to look a lot like Brady again and as impressive as Mac Jones was last year this kid looks even more magical in some ways so far. Belichik is going to have a very tough decision to make whenever Jones is healthy but bigger picture is just like last year after a 1-3 start, the Pats are rolling right now with a lot of winnable games left on the rest of their schedule. Very good chance they will be 8-3 heading into the TNF game against Buffalo in early Dec. An overall outside of the 2 games against the Bills they could run the table.
-
He's what most QB's start to look like as they approach 40 not named Tom Brady. Combined with a terrible offensive roster and defense just average now and you can see that this team is in serious trouble and may not even make the playoffs, let alone take the NFC North which some pundits felt was a bigger lock than the Bills taking the AFCE again.

Philly only unbeaten after Thursday. 17-0?
FilthyBeast replied to 1onemangang7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I still don't think this team is nearly as good as their record indicates and you get the sense that Hurts is going to be exposed sooner than later. I do think they are legit on defense for the most part but this team still feels like the cardinals from last year and I'm willing to be they will start to lose games soon. -
Desperation move by a team whose head coach is probably another loss or two away from being fired. Also should have never extended Kyler Murray, his career highlight was the fluke play against the Bills a few years ago and he's been exposed for a midget QB with a poor football IQ.
-
Daboll obviously had a big part in JA17's development and where he is today, but you really have to wonder if this was inevitable no matter who Allen had coaching him. What Daboll is doing with the Giants right now certainly warrants attention because he's taken a 4 win team from last year to 5-1 in their first six and at worse seem to be good wild card type of contender and their remaining schedule outside of 2 games with Philly and another in Dallas could produce a lot more wins. Easily the coach of the year if the season ended today though.

Still the Bills left 14-21 points out there......
FilthyBeast replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's truly impressive that this team still probably hasn't played their best game yet and is sitting at 5-1 coming out of the most difficult part of their schedule on paper. -
Lil' Dummy McKenzie.........offical team character builder
FilthyBeast replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've said for some time that Mckenzie is useless and the equivalent of Zack Moss at the WR position. And since it looks like the Moss experiment may finally be over, really hoping we do the same with McKenzie because not only are better players sitting behind him, he is going to cost this team dearly with his turnovers and mistakes. -
Has there been any recent updates on Kim Pegula?
FilthyBeast replied to AuntieEm's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've also seen this rumor circulating online and very unfortunate if true for the exact reasons you outlined. The only silver lining you can find in this situation is the Bills organization rallying around this and using it as more motivation to bring a championship home to Buffalo this year. -
Hot take: Shakir should be the starting slot receiver going forward
FilthyBeast replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unfortunately I get the feeling that despite Shakir's impressive showing last week this coaching staff is going to go right back to McKenzie as the primary slot option. I know that 'little dirty' is a fan favorite for some but for me he's also the WR equivalent of Zack Moss in that I feel this team is wasting valuable snaps in favor of better players that should be in the lineup. -
The Bills have owned TEs this season. Now comes Kelce.
FilthyBeast replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
It seems the obvious strategy playing the Chiefs offense this year would be to take Kelce out of the game and let someone else beat you. But there's a reason this hasn't worked and the Chiefs are the #1 offense in the NFL through 5 games. Don't be shocked if Mahomes rushes for 2 or 3 TD's in the redzone in this game because of all the attention we are likely to give Kelce's way. This was also an issue in the playoff game last year in terms of Mahomes beating us with his legs. -
Can you imagine if the Bills drive down late in the 4th quarter and take a lead but give the Chiefs the ball back with 30 seconds or less again? Just thinking about the collective pressure that would be on McD/Frazier/etc in that circumstance is almost hard to fathom as flashbacks to the playoff loss would be inevitable. Can only hope it doesn't come down to that again.
