  1. I think after last night it's crystal clear this team needs to have the #1 seed and home field throughout to have a chance to get the SB this year. Yes good teams lose to other good teams on the road, but given the Bills flaws it's hard to see them overcoming them on the road in the playoffs, particularly their lack of physicality in the trenches which was also the reason they ultimately lost in KC last year in the AFCCG. With that said, still going to be a tough path to get there even with a favorable schedule the rest of the way trying to leapfrog a handful of other 4-2 or better teams in conference right now.
  2. There's a reason this guy was cut and I'll never understand the obsession fans have over garbage players. For everybody that believes we should resign him you do realize he never returned a kick for a TD during his time here right? Meanwhile MacKenzie is a holding call away from doing it twice in only 7 games at the return guy vs 2 years worth of Roberts time in Buffalo?
  3. No because it's a week to week league, but at this moment in time they are better. The good news is the Cardinals have yet to have their Titans type of loss and the Bills got it out of the way. I just think at the end of the day the Bills have serious flaws that will ultimately keep them from hoisting the Lombardi trophy or even having that chance for that matter.
  4. I also predicted 12-5 (and losing in the divisional round) this year and after last night it's still probably a safe bet given the flaws this team is likely going to overcome. The only change I would make in your prediction is beating the Colts and losing on Thanksgiving to the Saints. The big issue though when looking at this schedule is the Bills will likely continue to win against bottom feeder types but struggle against average to good teams the rest of the way.
  5. Yes you are right, this team is good and I stated that. But anybody that thinks they are in the same class as the Cardinals for example show me the proof otherwise. Again this team has lost to Big Ben and Ryan Tannenhill who have been among the worst QB's in the NFL thus far. Cardinals for example destroyed this same Titans team on the road, and the Browns and Rams. Does anybody really believe we'd beat them head to head right now regardless of the venue, especially against that offense and the weapons they have? The good news is that it's a week to week league and there's still a long road ahead but the questions I asked are legitimate and why I've said all along that Bills mafia might want to humble themselves and tap the brakes a bit especially in terms of making travel plans to LA next february.
  6. I had a gut feeling the Bills would lose this game and have a let down after last week, but agree that it's still a bad loss for a number of reasons most notably tie breakers and overall seeding in the AFC come playoff time. And while I don't think the head to head tie breaker matters against the Titans just like last year when they ultimately finished behind the Bills in playoff seeding, it's another conference loss that might kill the Bills in a very loaded AFC. Any chance this team has to make the SB is getting homefield throughout and that's going to be hard this year despite the alleged favorable schedule the rest of the way compared to other teams.
  7. This oline is definitely an issue but it still says a lot that Allen was able to have another 300+ yard, multiple TD game. Tackles were really bad again especially Brown but he gets a pass as a rookie making his 3rd career start. Covid or not, Dawkins has also been below average most of the season so far. But as I've said many times before, I'll never understand what this team sees in guys like Feliciano other than the fake tough guy persona because you can argue he's one of the main reasons we lost to the Chiefs last year in the AFCCG and why we've lost to the Steelers and Titans this year. So to assume he's not going to continue to cost this team again down the stretch is simply wishful thinking but we really don't have another option to replace him unless Beane makes a power move before the trade deadline.
  8. This was a crappy loss but not necessarily unexpected given the nature of this league and this team likely wasn't going 16-1 anyway. With that said there are a lot of questions to ponder in the next few weeks: 1) How good is this team? Are they really a SB contender? My biggest concern with losing against the Titans is the totality of the season as a whole thus far. Yes we dominated 3 lessor teams and beat what we assume is also a playoff team in KC, but there will be critics that now look at the Bills as paper tigers especially if the Chiefs continue to play inconsistent football. By default the Bills are certainly going to be an AFC contender given the weak remaining schedule and clear path to division titale, but after last night I'm really not sure if they are in the same class as a team like the Cardinals who dominated this same Titans team on the road, and several other contenders in similar fashion. Still plenty of time to go but right now I think the Bills are just another good team that's probably in the secondary tier until proven otherwise. 2) Speaking of the Chiefs, was this the Bills 'Super Bowl'? As of right now I would say check back with me in a few months. But no matter what the players say, there's no question there was an extra motivation last week to have a good showing and get a win if anything to exorcise a necessary demon. I keep thinking back to the 2018 Jaguars who ironically started the season 4-1 that year and destroyed the Patriots (who they lost to in the AFCCG) and them completely falling apart the rest of the way after putting all their eggs in the proverbial basket for that specific game. Obviously this bills team is not a one hit wonder like the 2017 Jags, and they also have a favorable schedule on deck but you can't argue how emotionally drained they were last night against the Titans particularly on defense. And to essentially lose the game on the last play of the game coming up short on 4th down play could foreshadow a similar end to the season come playoff time. 3) Can the Bills overcome the glaring flaws that were on full display again last night? No team is perfect, but the same specific issues that cost this team against the Steelers (and have still lingered to a certain degree during the Bills 4 game win streak) are why this team lost again. Starting with the oline, they are way to inconsistent and simply not built to handle physical teams. John Feliciano in particular continues to show why he's not an NFL starting olinemen and both tackles struggled mightily again including Spencer Brown crashing to earth in a major way. On defense once again the pass rush was non existent against a QB and team that has been among the worst in the league until they played the Bills off course. As a result once again Levi Wallace was exposed as the weak link getting throw at and completed on over and over again. Just not sure the Bills can overcome this even if they attempt to address at the trade deadline and this is why sadly I don't think they ultimately go very far in the playoffs this year especially if they match up against the Titans or a simliar team again. 4) Defense owned and exposed? Piggy backing off the last question, it's really hard to know if this defense simply had a let down or just isn't as good as we thought. Realistically for me it's probably somewhere in between. Yes there is a talent on defense but it's more a collection of really good role players/above average players and no true game changers (at least against other playoff caliber teams). And once again this is why I've always hated this scheme and the whole 'bend but don't break' style because when it works great, but when it breaks it truly breaks as we saw pretty much the entire game after the 1st quarter against the Titans. I'm sure this defense will come out of the bye week and look great again against the likes of the Dolphins, Jets, etc but there are still going to be a lot of question marks until we play a legit team again. Also no matter what way you spin it, a defense that some were comparing to the 2000 Ravens has lost to a washed up Big Ben and Ryan Tannenhill so far this year in just 6 games. Anyways, hopefully this team comes out angry and has a similar finish to the season after last years pre bye week debacle.
  9. It's definitely going to be a long couple of weeks if the Bills lose tonight. The images and videos coming out of Nashville this weekend are simply crazy and fans setting themselves up for a major hangover in more ways than one if this team doesn't deliver again.
  10. A few random thoughts on yesterdays games: 1) I don't know how the Ravens are doing this with so many key players already injured/on IR but Jackson is having a special season and they will be a very dangerous matchup in the playoffs since you can no long focus on just stopping the run against them. Of course Jackson has to prove he can throw the ball like this in the playoffs but nothing I see right now indicates he won't be able to do that. 2) As suspected with the Chargers, eventually luck runs out and will be interested to see how both Herbert and Staley respond to their first big loss together. One in which all the things that worked well for them this season didn't (i.e. 3rd/4th down conversion success). Still think they have a great chance at playoffs but still not sure who is winning that division now and their defense is a major liability going forward just like the Chiefs. 3) Yes it's still early but the Cardinals do look scary good and for real especially how they play on the road against other playoff hopefuls thus far easily winning games against the Browns, Titans and Rams. There is not much that separates them from the Bills right now other than defense which quite frankly is probably just a notch below Buffalo but offensively I would say they are also a notch better than the Bllls right now. Could very well be the team the Bills face in the SB if they get there. 4) Pats/Cowboys - Pats have to be the best 2-4 team in league history considering all their close games/moral victories against good opponents. Also why I still have reservations facing them twice later this year even though we will likely have the division all but clinched by then but they could damage seeding with an upset of the Bills. Also the Cowboys are another SB caliber team in my mind but they are lucky to have escaped with a win yesterday. 5) One team nobody seems to be talking about is the Bengals but they probably should be since they could easily be 6-0 right now, they remind me a lot of the 2019 Bills and will definitely be a tough out based on the way they are playing and don't be surprised if they find a way to win that division if the Ravens do hit a wall or flounder down the stretch.
  11. Yes I have, and as ignorant as some of them can be as I alluded to before they at least have something to thump their chests about because all of them have won multiple SB's in the past. I get Bills fans excitement but what exactly has this team done except make the playoffs multiple times in recent years?? Beating a Chiefs team who is clearly having down year thus far is nothing to brag about and the Bills could easily lose tonight and all of a sudden the narrative goes from legit SB contenders to frauds heading into the bye week. My point is don't count your chickens before they hatch and it's still way too early in the season to understand how good this team is compared to at least a handful of others right now across the league whose fanbases also believe they are the best team in the league and SB bound.
  12. I agree with this especially since the Bills really haven't even done anything yet for the fanbase to truly celebrate (i.e. win a SB). No need to bask in other teams misery, just be happy that your own team appears to have turned a corner and has a great thing going at present because if history has taught us anything success in this league is fleeting in most cases and even when you think you have reached the pinnacle of greatness there's always another team that can bring you crashing down to reality (i.e. Bills 4 straight SB losses).
  13. Mayfield is a distant 3rd behind Allen and Lamar and the Browns promising season is looking to be derailed quickly because of injuries. As for Darnold so much for him being rejuvenated in Carolina as they are also going off the rails quickly based on his play in recent weeks.
  14. Not here to defend Flores, he's obviously going down the path of many other failed Belichik assistants away from Foxboro but in his defense the main reason why the Dophins season has gone up in flames is the QB position. But even if Tua had been 100% healthy all season can't see them being any better than 3-3 right now anyway. Still think they will probably end up landing Deshaun Watson at some point between now and next offseason but probably will have a new coach in place too.
  15. People like this are exactly why I hate social media in the first place....it gives a morons a platform to spread their idiocy to millions of others. Really don't understand why Mahomes inner circle continues to do this type of crap.
  16. This very well may be the last time we ever face Brady again so I'm all for getting a win against him, but if I knew in advance the Bills would face TB in the SB I'd rather lose to them now instead of trying to win twice in the same season against Brady which IMO would be impossible. Also don't forget the Chiefs won impressively against Brady and Bucs last year in the regular season and we all know how the 2nd matchup just a few months later in the SB turned out....
  17. I think a couple things happen in this one including us breaking the leading by 10 at halftime streak, and also margin of victory. With that said Bills are still better team across the board and will win: Bills 27 Titans 22
  18. Personally I would dump Butler ASAP and keep Phillips but he's the one that has more perceived trade value given his contract and age. Butler is complete waste of space and really not sure why we kept him other than insurance but like I said, still think one of these two will go to make room for Stevenson but that may not be until after the bye week anyway at this point.
  19. I think people are making too much of the 'revenge' angle against the Titans. Yes it was their worst game of the regular season last year but it's not like they were bounced by them in the playoffs like the Chiefs. With that said, the Titans are getting healthy and I do expect this to be a closer contest with the Bills possibly even needed to win the game deep into the 4th quarter but I do think they are the better team and should win period. Plus you don't want to overstate how big of a deal it is to go into the bye week on a 5 game winning streak with serious momentum.
  20. No it will be Harrison Phillips or Vernon Butler IMO. In fact wouldn't be surprised if Beane is shopping both right now trying to get even a conditional 7th round pick.
  21. True but we have a lot of good players still under rookie contract and other recently signed deals favorable to the Bills. Plus if we get to the SB this year or win it then it makes signing key veterans to $1 year deals easier since they will take less for a chance to win a SB. Either way the time is now for this franchise to truly exorcise demons of years past and win it all.
  22. They are in a similar spot the Bills were a few years ago but cap space disappears quickly once you resign/extend your key core players and Herbert will no doubt be in line for the next Allen/Mahomes type of contract.
  23. Interesting move, guess Philly is waving the white flag already but they aren't going anywhere this season anyway with that defense and QB that probably is just a placeholder for a real franchise QB next year. As for the Cardinals, they are definitely going all in this year and Ertz will probably be more productive there with a better QB to get him the ball.
  24. This is great stuff but still somewhat hollow comparison since Mahomes has a SB ring and Allen doesn't.
  25. If we do trade anyway any dline the obvious choices are guys like Vernon Butler or Harrison Phillips unless a team was desperate enough to offer a high draft pick for Addison or Hughes. And if we ever activate marquez stevenson Butler or Phillips is getting released anyway. Regarding the DB interest on our end this isn't surprising but can't imagine we would part ways with any draft picks of note to get one midseason.
