  1. Not sure why they went for the 2 point conversion, but I have no problem with going for another TD because even if they kneeled they wouldn't have been able to run the clock and would have had to kick a FG or go for it on 4th down anyway. Also how many times in the past have the Pats when done this with Brady? Not just against the Bills but any team they played and were blowing out. Bottom line you play to win and this was not classless IMO.
  2. I mentioned this earlier too, LA is certainly going all in the next few years but there's a good chance they'll be in the #1 overall draft pick sweepstakes in the next five years. But if they win at least one SB that's worth it and pretty sure most Bills fans would also share that sentiment given the fact we currently have zero in our trophy case.
  3. While this move certainly shifts the current AFC playoff landscape, the Titans are still pretty much a lock to win their division given the sweep of the Colts. And from the Bills perspective it shouldn't change any potential strategy for Beane to make any type of trade for help in the next few days.
  4. This is why I hate all the praise some fans give Beane, it feeds his ego and belief that everything he touches turns to gold. I'm not saying we need to trade away all our top assets, but being afraid to move late round picks even for a short term rental for the rest of the year is silly when you look at some of the players we've drafted in recent years in the late rounds and how they are either riding the bench as ST only players, or not even on the roster and/or PS. I would go as far to say moving a 3rd/4th round isn't a waste either depending on what you get in return and look no further than the horrendous Kelvin Benjamin trade in his first year as GM. Beane himself admitted in hindsight it was a bad move, but he did it because he believed this team could be in the playoffs. So if you believe your team is now close to a SB/championship why not go all in like the Rams are doing?? If we stand pat and do nothing you are right though, the holes this team has will ultimately kill any real championship aspirations especially with Feliciano on the roster an starting.
  5. I give the Rams credit, they are not afraid to go all in the near term (i.e. next 2-3 years) at the expense of looking at a steep downturn with little to no resources via draft and cap space to replenish talent. But from the Bills standpoint, Beane must do something even if just to address quality depth at positions of need (i.e. OG/DT) and not stand firm with the belief that holding on to mid/late round draft picks in 2022/2023 draft are more valuable than getting immediate veteran help even if only a short term rental vs players that probably won't even make this teams roster or remain on the practice squad (i.e. Jack Anderson). Bottom line, is any Bills fan truly confident we would win a possible SB matchup against the Rams (with them having homefield advantage in that game) with this current oline/dline as is?
  6. This is actually the team that makes the most sense given all the 1st rounders they have next year (including one from Miami). But according to reports the only teams Watson will accept a trade to is Miami or Carolina. I still think this whole situation is a big joke and not sure why any team would want to give up any draft picks of note for a guy with tons of legal issues hanging over his head, signed a huge contract and then basically quit on the team and demanded a trade. Whose to say he won't do it again even after he's traded? Just seems like a big waste of picks and money for a guy who has been pretty overrated to begin with since he's been in the league and might be out of it for good within a few years pending the legal situation hanging over his head.
  7. As mentioned in another post, don't be surprised if this game is a lot closer than some expect. The Bills aren't going to win every game against the Dolphins by 3+ scores and eventually they will beat us again. But at this point can't see the Bills coming out of the bye week unfocused and not taking care of business here. If that were to happen though than this team is an obvious fraud in the first place....
  8. This is a really bizarre move for a team that's going nowhere this year regardless of the Wilson injury. I know Flacco played there recently but it's a completely different coaching staff/offense?
  9. I wasn't implying the NFC may go on a tear and win 10 straight SB's per se, they just seem to be the dominant conference at present with the aforementioned teams who all have franchise QB's playing at an elite level combined with physical play in the trenches that I don't believe the Bills or some of the other alleged AFC contenders would match up well against. That's why in hindsight it wasn't necessarily shocking to see such a one sided blowout by the Bucs against the Chiefs in the SB last year, it brought back memories of all the Bills and Broncos teams that were great in the regular season in the 80's/90's but got smashed in the SB because of bad matchups, most notably in the trenches.
  10. TB/Brady is the only matchup I'd have zero confidence in having a chance to win in the SB, which is why beating them later this year would be a red herring similar to what happened with the Chiefs last year in the regular season against them. AZ strikes me a a very complete team across the board and it's not just that Murray seems to have taken a quantum leap in year 3 similar to JA17, their defense is very physical and full of game changing players which doesn't bode well for this team and their struggles against defenses like the Titans/Steelers which aren't nearly as good as AZ's right now. As for the rest, I believe we may be able to beat GB/DAL/LAR as you mentioned but it wouldn't be easy and all three of them also play with physicality in the trenches which again is a bad matchup for the Bills the way their lines are currently built.
  11. For fans old enough to remember, the NFC had a very dominant stretch in the 80's/90's where the conference winner won 13 straight SB games from 1982 - 1997 including our very own Bills sadly being on the receiving end of four of those games in the early 90's. And if you look at the current NFC playoff picture right now there are 5 teams with no more than one loss compared to the AFC where every top tier has 2 losses minimum including the Bills. Yes it's early, but you really have to wonder if the NFC Championship game is essentially going to be the SB this year meaning the winner will cruise to a championship regardless of the AFC opponent who makes it there. I still think it's Brady/Bucs vs the field when the dust settles but there are some very strong teams top to bottom with AZ/LAR/DAL/GB that I'm honestly not sure the bills could beat right now.
  12. This Colts team is hitting their stride and will be a tough matchup when they play the Bills next month. In fact if they beat the Titans this week at home which I expect to happen, good chance they'll be 6-4 and riding a 5 game win streak into the game @ Buffalo. So this could be another good measuring stick game against a physical team that almost ended the Bills playoff run prematurely last year which is also going to be added motivation for them, albeit with a completely different QB situation.
  13. While this is true to a certain degree, you are still going to get every other teams best shot. That's why Brady's run in NE was so remarkable because not only did they consistently beat up on the rest of the division and bad teams on their schedule, they routinely destroyed the other main competition at the time in the AFC (i.e. Colts with Manning, Steelers with Big Ben when those QB's were in their prime). So with what few quality teams left on the schedule this season, it would serve this team well to make a statement like the Cardinals have already done against teams like the Titans, Rams, etc.
  14. At this point I would say yes if anything because the Bills have not beat anybody yet since we know now in hindsight KC just isn't very good this year and likely on their way to a non playoff/possible sub .500 type season. And even though some fans keep making statements like we'd beat Pitt/Ten 9 times out 10 if we played them both again, the reality is we lost to them and at the moment Tenn looks like a real powerhouse and contender. If Pitt wins against the Browns this week they will also be above .500 I think we'll certainly have a few more big tests left including the obvious showdown with Brady in TB. I also think both games against the Pats will be tough. And it's very possible the Colts are getting hot right now and could be riding a win streak and be 6-4 heading into Buffalo assuming they can beat the Titans at home next week. At the end of the day this Bills teams needs to prove they can win games against quality competition and not just beat up on bottom feeders.
  15. I'm mildly concerned about this game. Not because of any pending trade for Watson, but because we'll be facing a team currently on a 6 game losing streak coming 2 straight tough losses in games they probably should have won. Also this team knows they have to eventually show better against the Bills and aren't going to keep getting blown out every time. Even during the Pats dominance they dropped division games (ironically mostly against the Dolphins) and we typically played them close once each year and got blown out in the other game. With that said I still have a hard time seeing the Bills drop this coming out of the bye week after what happened against the Titans, but it's truly a week to week league and you never really know what's going to happen.
  16. The real test of how good a GM Beane is will come in the next few years when resigning key FA and/or outside FA becomes much more difficult to do given the gig contracts recently handed out, specfically with JA17. So we will find out how good a talent evaluator he truly is since the draft will become our main resource to replenish this team and find legit starters. I still think that Beane and his front office/scouting staff need to reevaluate how they go about building the trenches though and it's still a major blemish that someone didn't see what we had in Wyatt Teller and felt he was expendable especially entering the 2019 season when getting back to the playoffs with a developing QB in this 2nd season was far from a sure thing.
  17. They have the GOAT which was obviously a big reason for that given his post season resume. They were also only the 3rd WC team in NFL history to win 3 road playoff games to get to a SB.
  18. I think they would, I also think even if he plays this year it's just to build momentum for next year because between their current 1-5 record and how long it would take Watson to truly get up to speed and make a meaningful contribution the dolphins 2021 campaign is effectively over hence the move for next season thought on the matter.
  19. My concern with Darrell Williams is exactly what happened in Carolina, after he had an all pro season there at RT he was hurt and also eventually moved to guard where he struggled. No he has not been the worst player on this oline but his resigning was essentially a one year deal anyway and he's probably gone next year. As for Feliciano, he was not good last year and even worse this year. I know fans gravitate to his social media tough guy persona but the play on the field has simply not translated. As for Addison/Butler, they have a combined 1 sack and while Addison has certainly looked better with less snaps in rotation, Butler has been inactive most weeks. I guess the overall point is that none of these players were/are essential to this teams success and we could have brought in other outside FA's at a reasonable price or pooled the money on an one impact FA that would presumably be making better contributions at these positions or elsewhere.
  20. It's because Diggs isn't putting up ridiculous numbers like last year so some fans need to nitpick. But most fans should have realized that would be the case, just like the Bills offense as a whole is/was unlikely to match or exceed last year's franchise setting records. Either way this offense is fine for the most part especially since they are running ball more effectively, big issue is fixing the red zone scoring which I believe there is still time to remedy.
  21. As I've stated before, if the Dolphins do land Watson it's a move for next year (and presumably a new HC/GM) that will essentially be made by their ownership.
  22. This offense is fine and Sanders will likely be an even bigger factor in the playoffs than he is now. The biggest mistake this team made was bringing back guys like Feliciano, Darrell Williams, Butler and Addison when most armchair right felt they should have been released/not resigned and money spent elsewhere. And so far the armchair GM's are right as none of these guys are doing much except contributing to the 2 losses we've had so far.
  23. Another valid point, if you go back to the 90's during the glory years they had one home playoff loss (1996 against the Jags and also Kim Kelly's last game) During the 4 straight SB's years they had home field throughout in 3 of those 4 years, the only exception was 1992 when Kelly got hurt (won that famous comeback game against the Houston Oilers, then on the road against the Steelers and Dolphins). The previous 2 seasons in 1988 and 1989 they also lost on the road in the playoffs including another AFCCG appearance in CIN in 88. Also lost on the road in the payoffs in 1998 and 1999 with the Doug Flutie led teams including the infamous homerun throwback game against the Titans when Rob Johnson was the starter. Bottom line, no matter what anybody says home field in the playoffs matter especially given this teams history and not winning a road playoff game in nearly 30 years.
  24. Even if he was, there's next to zero chance of him being effective and having the Miami offense producing anymore than they are now. Heaven forbid he did start and the Bills lose coming out of the bye week or talk about a full blown meltdown by the fanbase in terms of expectations of this team going forward.
  25. Dawkins has had a few terrible games that have skewed these numbers, but he does need to pick it up quickly and I expect the covid issues will be behind him soon. Brown you can't worry about yet since he's only started 3 games but the Titans one was by far his worst outing thus far.
