  1. Browns are another team I was wrong about and given their upcoming schedule it's hard to see more than a few wins the rest of the way based on how they are playing today specifically at the QB position.
  2. Well this is very interesting if anything because it shows Beane understands this defense as is just isn't good enough especially the 'new look' pash rush and current metrics which I still think are very misleading given the teams we've played thus far. Hopefully he is also doing the same due diligence with the interior oline and gets some done.
  3. Anybody else on twitter hitting the refresh button literally every 30 seconds??? 4pm eastern can't get here fast enough....
  4. Unless we are landing a true premier player at a position of need in return, would be a stupid move IMO especially since you can argue we probably lose against the Dolphins without Beasley. Also considering his well documented vaccine status, that would likely turn off many possible suitors in terms of what type of compensation they give in return.
  5. One thing I would like to see McDermott get away from later in the season is such a heavy dline rotation and focus on the hot hand so to speak in terms of guys that are getting pressure and giving them the bulk of the snaps, similar to shortening the bench rotation so to speak in the NBA playoffs. And I do think we'll have a great opportunity to pad our sack numbers the next few weeks given the opponents on deck so it will be somewhat disappointing if we don't get at least 4 sacks against in each of these games against the Jags and jets. At the end of the day though if we could snag a pass rushing DT in a trade in the next 24 hours it would go a long way to help this team make a serious run at a SB this year.
  6. At a minimum they will lose to the Rams and Patriots, even with Henry back for the Steelers that's shaping up to be a tough game given possible playoff ramifications late in the season. Tannenhill has been good during his time with the Titans because he hasn't been the focal point of the offense. Now that teams know there is no real rushing threat the focus will be on Tannenhill and expect similar results to his time with the Dolphins in that he'll certainly have his moments but probably crumble and turn the ball over a lot more since teams can focus almost exclusively on stopping the pass.
  7. If the Bills play poorly in this game I'll be very concerned. Especially against a rookie QB that hasn't shown much progress yet and a HC that's counting the days until a premier college opening becomes available. Either way there's no excuse for the Bills not to blast this team similar to the Texans game.
  8. The reasoning that some of the local media have given is that they don't want to risk him to injury since he's the only real backup center option we have. (Although that's where Felciano has also played in the past). But at this point something has to give considering this oline has seemingly regressed further coming out of the bye week.
  9. A lot of people don't realize that when Brady and the Pats won their first 3 SB's in the early 2000's, it was defense and ST carrying the load with Brady being a glorified game manager who had clutch plays when needed. Obviously Brady evolved in a major way in the following years especially when they actually added real talent around him like Moss, Gronk, etc and nobody is disputing he's the GOAT. But at the end of the day there is not a ton different with what Mac Jones is doing right now and as his confidence grows and he starts connecting on some big time throws who knows what to expect. It's not even out of the realm of possibility that the Pats win all their upcoming games on the schedule before playing the Bills in a huge MNF matchup in a month. Going further outside of the 2 games against the Bills, the only remotely challenging games they have left are against the Browns/Titans/Colts so they are certainly primed for a run.
  10. I have nothing against Feliciano as a person, but it never made sense to resign him in the first place and especially deciding to lose 20+ pounds without even consulting the team about it. Biggest issue though is the longer he stays on this team and sees starting snaps he's going to get Allen seriously hurt and when that happens any chance this team has/had to win a SB goes up in flames. It's simply time for Beane to understand not every move he's made he has been a good one (In fact he's been pretty terrible on oline with Ford and also trading away Teller) and give up whatever draft pick is needed (sans a 1st rounder) to address this teams biggest hole right now to have a real shot at winning it all.
  11. I'm not laughing because the Bills are far from a lock to get to the SB despite what a lot of fans on this board and elsewhere think. The AFC is wide open and if the Pats can go on the road and beat a QB like Herbert they can certainly do it to the Bills/Ravens/etc especially in the playoffs where Belichink knows a thing or two about winning post season games.
  12. I still don't think the Chiefs win means much and even if they somehow turn it around and make the playoffs our win will have an asterisk given the circumstances of when/how it came. I want to see this team and defense pummel another truly good team which all elite contenders typically do at least once over the course of a full season but the sad reality is outside of the Bucs game there might not be any other opportunities to do that this year.
  13. Could be a blessing in disguise and force this teams hand in terms of addressing before the trade deadline. But if Beane is truly smart he was already in the process of doing this anyway before Feliciano got hurt.
  14. Whose the right match up though? Packers? They have played a very physical balanced offense this year similar to the Titans and Rogers is on a whole other level than Tannenhill especially in big moments/games. Cowboys? Very similar to the Packers but much better overall offense. Cardinals? We obviously know what happened last year against a much worse team, but Murray is on another level this year and is among the hardest QB's in the league to defend because of this. The worse matchups IMO are the Rams and Bucs given their passing offenses and it scares me to think about our defense against either of those teams given Frazier and McD tendencies to drop in soft zone and let offenses like this pick us apart with hopes of simply holding them to FG's in the redzone. At least we play one of them this season though to get a possible preview of what to expect in the SB if we get there.
  15. You can say the same thing about the Bills with the only win of note so far is against a simliar paper tiger team in the Chiefs is currently under .500 Beating 4 other teams with no more than 2 wins each is nothing to brag about and we've lost to both teams we've played this year with a record above .500 I'm not saying we should fear the Patriots but they appear to be on the ascent right now and barely lost to the Cowboys, Bucs and Dolphins and all those games were decided in the final minutes.
  16. Given the shear amount of garbage QB's we'll have faced this year when the regular season is over, this team better be in the top 5. But we've seen what happens when we play remotely competent QB's this year in Big Ben and Tannenhill. Yes we beat Mahomes but still think that's somewhat hollow given the Chiefs current state of affairs. This is why I really don't know what to expect from this team come playoff time. We could be one and done or have a similar deep run like last year.
  17. This is another reason I would worry about this team coming off the bye as the #1 seed in the playoffs, same reason we've seen other big upsets in the divisional round in the past and also why some teams have played like crap in the SB and lost big after sitting two weeks after the conference championship games. With that said, in regards to the playoffs I still think this team needs to ensure homefield throughout for the best chance to get to the SB this year.
  18. This is no doubt a very good defense on paper but we lack true elite/game changing players. I think the metrics are misleading similar to 2019 because of the level of competition we've faced thus far. I think certainly we have pro bowl guys when they are their best in White/Milano/Hyde. But the rest are just a bunch of role players and above average starters on their best days. And not having a true dominant force on DL is what will ultimately likely prevent this team from getting to/winning a SB this year IMO. (Same with the glaring flaws on the interior oline).
  19. If the Bills were truly elite they wouldn't be 0-2 against teams that currently have a winning record. And I don't feel the Steelers and Titans are elite either. Not saying we won't continue to ramp up similar to how we finished last year but again at this point and time there's not much that separates the Bills from crowded AFC field right now other than having a better QB which certainly matters but it's not everything in the playoffs as we've seen in years past when top seeds get bounced early by teams playing better as a whole vs the sum of their parts.
  20. I've said all along I don't see this team sweeping the division again and yesterday was a sobering reminder of why. We'll no doubt be favored at home in the MNF game unless something drastic happens but the game in Foxboro is shaping up to be very difficult assuming their Pats current ascent continues. This is a good Pats team regardless if whether or Bills fans want to acknowlege it.
  21. I think the same teams that already beat us (Titans/Steelers) plus a few others (most notably the Ravens) are bad match ups. As of today I also think any of the top teams in the NFC would likely blow the Bills out in the SB especially the rams with Donald and Miller together up front.
  22. History has shown that teams with average to subpar olines will get blown out in the SB even if they make it there. I also think that our dline still isn't good enough either but not sure Beane can address both of these issues in the next few days even if he wanted to.
  23. The sad reality is they could easily be 6-2 or 7-1 right now if not for a few plays (specifically against the Dolphins/Bucs/Cowboys). The only true bad loss was against the Saints. It was very impressive what they did against the Chargers on the road coming out of their bye week. Despite the Dolphins being a major disappointment this year I've felt all along the Pats are a real threat to the Bills this year and still are despite sitting 2 games back in the loss column. And it's vomit inducing that they may have very well found another franchise QB so soon after Brady leaving. Either way it's not a slam dunk we are going to win either game against the Pats this year but must split worst case.
  24. It's not just the Rams, I posted last week about the current NFC landscape looking very strong similar to what older fans observed in the 80's/90's including why the Bills could never get over the hump despite being the most dominant team in the AFC conference. As of today I just don't feel the Bills match up well against most of the top tier teams in the NFC right now (Rams/Cowboys/Packers/Cardinals/TB). And for all those saying the Bills have room to improve, yes I agree with this but so do the aforementioned NFC teams who in some cases are already playing at a championship level. At the end of the day I just feel that Beane needs to truly be bold and make a move that can help this team in the short term even if it's at the expense of quality draft picks and I would still feel that way even if the Bills hadn't struggled yesterday for the greater part of 3 quarters against a 1-7 team.
  25. I think this is what scares everyone in that this team honesty probably believes that the current glaring holes are magically going to somehow rectify themselves in the coming weeks and stick to 'the run it back' offseason plan. Sure a guy like Feliciano is going to look serviceable against some of the junk left on the schedule, but then again he was the worst player out there yesterday against a 1-7 Dolphins team who just isn't that good on defense up front. Also regarding the pass rush, I have no problem letting the younger guys get playing time but we are still struggling to finish on the pass rush front for the most part and DT is still a big need IMO because we truly have nothing behind Oliver and Star.
