  1. One thing I have never liked about McD's bills teams is they don't seem gritty. This is why I also hate how this team is built in the trenches on both sides of the ball. A gritty team certainly pulls out the win yesteday but instead there was too much clapping on the sideline and very questionable coaching decisions like not accepting a holding call and giving away 3 points that ended up being the difference of the game.
  2. Agree, unless it's Carolina or former players like this it's almost like this front office is clueless when it comes to looking outside the organization for talent.
  3. Looking at the Pats remaining schedule and assuming they continue to ascend it's not hard to see them finishing with 11 or 12 wins: CLE - (W) Browns had an impressive win @ CIN but Mayfield is the type of QB that BB will feast on in terms of mistakes. @ ATL - (W) TEN - (50/50 as hot as Titans are they aren't winning out) @ BUF (50/50 but would lean towards Pats as of today) @ IND (50/50 have played similar to Pats in recent weeks) BUF (W) JAC (W) @ MIA (W) When I look at the Bills today I obviously see them struggling to achieve the same results down the stretch so both head to head matchups against the Pats will likely determine the division and/or Bills playoff fate.
  4. This is what is lost in this mess and not being talked about enough....It's not like the Jags played a flawless game and went toe to toe with the Bills truly earning the victory in a high scoring, back and forth game. Their rookie QB wasn't great and played hurt the whole second half, but all it took was 9 measely points to beat an alleged SB contender and best team in the AFC?? This is why the entire Bills mafia truly needs to take a step back and recalibrate expectations of what this 2021 team really is....a middle of the pack team that may only be a WC team at best if they make the playoffs again.
  5. At this point Frazier has the better odds to be a HC again and probably deserves it given what's he's done here on a defense that's more the sum of it's part vs individual star players which we really don't have. I think this offense would have to catch fire in the 2nd half of the season for Daboll to be a serious HC candidate but still think that's wishful think given the we have one of the worst olines in the league.
  6. Before the season I went on record and picked 12-5 and losing in the divisional round, when of course many others were throwing around outlandish 16-1 and 15-2 type of predictions and cruising to the SB. As of now we are 5-3 and are trending more towards 10 or 11 wins as the ceiling so my prediction seems a bit optimistic in hindsight. Either way it's clear this team has glaring flaws that will prevent this team from going very far this year, and looking ahead at the remaining schedule it's not out of the realm of possibility this team misses the playoffs altogether because more losses are coming even if this team gets their heads out of their behind and understands you need to bring it for four quarters every game.
  7. I can see this team showing up and beating the Jets, but until they show they can play consistent football for a prolonged stretch again like earlier in the season nothing really matters. In fact I could see us winning against the Jets by 10+ points, but then coming home and getting trounced by a physical Colts team that is likely going to be 5-5 and in the thick of the playoff picture. Also added motivation to beat us since we ended their season last year in a game that could have easily went their way and almost did at the end. It just feels like everyone is waiting for a run similar to how we finished last year after the bye week but given the upcoming schedule and glaring flaws this team have that run is likely not coming which is why I felt this team would be somewhere in the 12-5 range but that seems optimistic at this point.
  8. It's clear this team misses Lee Smith and while Knox has had a great year he's still not the greatest blocker. So yeah whatever the case if we could find room for Fells this is probably the best type of midseason upgrade we can get at this point.
  9. Would dump Sweeney in a heartbeat for him but something tells me it won't happen.
  10. If we can lose to the Jags, we can lose every one of these games unless something drastic changes immediately. Like I said the time to send a message is now even if it's behind closed doors without the media really know what transpires. But I still think that making a roster move and releasing somewhat sends a louder message.
  11. Well this is some degree of comic relief. I guess the goal of this league is for every team to be as mediorce and finish sub .500, but still convince fans to buy tons of tickets and merchandise every year.
  12. And that's on the coaching staff obviously There's a reason why Daboll's offenses in the NFL sucked prior to last year and why he wasn't hired as the chargers or other teams HC last year.
  13. So I was ready to start heaping on the blame on JA17, until I saw a stat that yesterday was the 3rd game of the season in which the oline gave up 20+ pressures in a single game. Just think about how pathetic and sad that is especially against a Jags defense that struggled all season until of course they played the Bills. Yes Allen can do some things better at times but playing behind such an atrocious oline is the reason this team is struggling and may likely miss the playoffs altogether down the stretch. Bottom line, if we do in fact miss the playoffs and/or one and done in the playoffs it won't be JA17 fault and this is coming from one of his biggest critics at times.
  14. But again, what is it going to take for this team to understand that last year means nothing and they've really not done anything in this league yet? Everyone thought the Steelers game was the wake up call but it wasn't. Last week out of the bye week barely beating a bad dolphins team at home wasn't either. So now we are assuming losing to a team that has barely won a game the last 2 seasons is the wake up call??? I just feel we are going to keep having this discussion in the weeks to come when at the end of the day this team just isn't good enough, the coach and GM aren't either despite some fans insistance to claim otherwise.
  15. Don't get me wrong, I love Bass and think he's this generations Steve Christie but I want this team to score TD's not FG's. But do agree that yesterday would have been the perfect game to utilize him more and actually have him win the game.
  16. We are calling the same stuff for the most part though....the same garbage run plays up the middle for 2 yards at best, Allen designed draws, focusing way too much on Diggs, WR screens for 2 yards, etc. One thing though that I've noticed that is part of the problem is this team takes way too long in the huddle, in that that wait to snap the ball almost when the clock hits zero and are trying to run some pseudo ball control offense with no semblance of a running game. To me they should be speeding it up, running up tempo which seemed to be the case last year and they also tried it late in the game yesterday. But with an oline so bad I don't really think it matters.
  17. I wonder if the coach was Sean McDermott himself, but in any event this isn't a surprise based on the fact that both teams are heading in polar opposite directions. One has peaked after a hot start and the other has fought through a tough start and starting to hit their stride. And while I don't think Mac Jones is quite Tom Brady yet he's clearly the top QB in this past draft thus far and this pats defense has an eerie resmeblence to the Pats teams from the early 2000's that won 3 of 4 SB behind a similar efficient offense when Tom Brady was asked not to make the big mistake and carry the team at the time.
  18. The identity hasn't changed as much as the rest of the league has figured this team out similar to what has happened to the Chiefs and Mahomes. Big difference it only took one season to figure out the Bills vs 3+ against the Chiefs. And nothing will change with opposing defenses regardless of their talent level, they will keep coming at Allen and attacking a bottom 10 oline while keep safeties deep to prevent the big play.
  19. Like I said in another thread yesterday based on these comments...at what point does this organization understand something is inherently wrong with the culture right now and what do they do change it and send a message? We've heard about how things are different and one game doesn't define a season similar to last year after the Cardinals Hail Murray debacle, but the big difference this year is this team hasn't responded and I think the Titans game mentally killed them because in hindsight they played above their heads against a true elite team and came up short.
  20. I hope this isn't serious, see for yourself here: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/BAL/baltimore-ravens/injuries/ But to name a few of note.... JK Dobbins Gus Edwards Marcus Peters JaWuan James Ronnie Staley Like I said, injuries suck but we didn't have an NFL caliber starting oline to begin with let alone quality backups and that's on the front office.
  21. I've never worshipped this regime. Yes it's great the drought is over and this team has some semblance of NFL relevance again but anybody that thinks this coach/GM/QB are on par with the 90's bills are delusional. I think all Bills fans are going to be in a rude awakening when this team loses a bunch more games and/or doesn't make the playoffs this year and boy are some certain extensions to the aforementioned folks going to look terrible when that happens.
  22. Ravens are 6-2 with half starters on IR and made another big comeback today against the Vikings. Cardinals are smashing the 49ers on the road right now without the MVP leading QB and best WR in the league. Injuries happen but it's not an excuse and if anything this front office needs to be pressed as to why they didn't force a deal last week or thought this roster was good enough in the first place.
  23. This whole coaching staff is overrated but nobody is getting fired although I suggested we release a bum like Cody Ford immediately to send a message. And I still don't understand why Frazier (and McD) insist on sitting in soft zone especially against a rookie QB and they should have been blitzing on pretty much every down. Be just a little aggressive and the defense probably wins the game today.
  24. If anything fans better be at the airport tonight with pitchforks. It's time to stop drinking the koolaid and blinding worshipping Allen, Beane, McDermott, Diggs, etc because the results simply aren't there and in reality this closer to a 2 or 3 win team masquerading as a 5-3 team right now and that's why they are finally starting to look bad and lose against other bad teams.
  25. One thing we've heard preached over and over with this HC/GM is 'culture'. It's why they made an ill advised decision to 'run it back' in the offseason bringing back pretty much the same team that was smashed by the Chiefs in the championship game instead of letting certain players walk/get released and replace them with other options. It's also why many buffalo media speculated that that Beane didn't want to make any trades of note last week brining in players from outside the organization because of the apparently lockeroom lovefest with this team. But this may be the issue and based on some of the postgame comments from the Jaguars that they noticed the Bills sideline didn't seem to care or have much interest in the game. Obviously it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this based on the sheer amount of penalties and you have to wonder if this team had any real practice last week or was just busy taking selfies and playing on instagram on their phones. It's one thing for a team to be complacent if they are coming off a championship season, but this team has done nothing of note other than win a division title once in 25 years. They aren't the Chiefs, Brady Pats teams or anything close the 90 Bills despite claims otherwise. Therefore if I'm Beane/McDermott I release someone (obvious candidate is Cody Ford) and send a message that the results on the field aren't nearly good enough and expected by this team if they truly aspire for greatness. The time for accountability is now before things spiral out of control quickly. They may anyway given the lack of talent in key areas of this roster, but at least you try to right the ship by making a bold move or two.
