Bills add Joe Giles-Harris LB after tryout
BigAl2526 replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They had a nose tackle in for a tryout. I guess he didn't impress. -
Does Gregory Rousseau need "redshirt" year?
BigAl2526 replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He'll be a role player in his first year, and the size of his role will be adjusted by what he can do on the field. AJ Epenesa had much the same experience last year. As he adjusted to the pro game and learned some things, his role grew. -
Is anybody talking about the 2021 schedule?
BigAl2526 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is their something in the league's scheduling algorithms that led to Buffalo's toughest non-division opponents all being away games? It would have been nice to have the Buccaneers or Chiefs at home. Otherwise, I guess it is generally a pretty favorable schedule. -
But did he add mass? He was listed as 5'7" and 203" That's hardly considered svelte. It may be that what he has is just more defined than it was a year ago..

Keys to why I believe our coaching staff is successful
BigAl2526 replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Back when Adam Gase had been at Miami for a while, the team decided they had a culture problem, so they made a decision to change the culture. I laughed because they were treating it like a add on, like changing the defensive scheme. It seemed to me as if it needed to be in the DNA of the team from the top down. In Miami, that was definitely not the case, as it seemed like Gase was the source of the cancer that afflicted the team, even though he was the one who talked about improving culture. It was no surprise to me that Miami's culture change effort collapsed and Miami had to dump Gase. I agree, Buffalo should not reinvent the wheel at this stage of the game. They can improve some of the matchups they have versus KC, but wholesale changes will create more problems than they solve. -
Keys to why I believe our coaching staff is successful

I have thought that Beane's draft success is due to the fact that he doesn't "overthink it." You're saying you think that philosophy pervades the whole organization. -
Brian Moorman was an excellent athlete as a punter/holder. He could run and throw. Buffalo was not afraid to use him on fake puts at all. I don't recall if he was involved with many fake field goal attempts, but he was definitely capable. I don't have any idea what kind of athlete Haack is.

As far as the Patriots are concerned, Cam Newton is no longer a competent QB, unless he proves otherwise. Mac Jones has proven nothing in the NFL yet either. I suspect he'll go through the typical growing pains of a rookie. I know he's smart, but while the SEC is good, Georgia's defense is not an NFL defense. I don't think the Patriots are a serious threat to take the division crown back from Buffalo this year. Who knows what 2022 will bring.

I think for a strong running game to contribute to a Super Bowl run and win, the QB has to have a level of competence. And, of course other areas of the team must contribute as well. Tennessee is dangerous not just because they have Derrick Henry, but because Ryan Tannehill is a competent QB. At times Tennessee has also had a solid defense. Even with all of that, only two teams can make it to the Super Bowl in a given year, and only one can win it.

The depth of the running back group is fine. The problem has been the inconsistency of production from Singletary and Moss. Whether that is the fault of the two RBs themselves, the blocking personnel or blocking schemes, the play calling or whatever.

Ty Dunne: Motor can lift Bills to super bowl
BigAl2526 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't believe that Brandon Beane is opposed to picking a running back fairly high if that running back has some transcendent qualities. It's going to depend on how the draft falls. in the case the the draft that just passed, I think the Bills felt their need to upgrade their edge rushers was more important. I don't think there is any question that the arm of Josh Allen is going to drive the offense going forward. However, I think the Bills would dearly like the running game to be more of a weapon when they do use it. If Devin Singletary can give them some of that, it's all good. If he can't, the Bills will know after this season that they need to keep looking. -
Did Bill from NYC take control of Bills for this draft?
BigAl2526 replied to Arm of Harm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would have liked a big nose tackle with some nasty to his game, but I understand the pool of talent at that position was small. -
Clerical error. The prison will figure it out shortly and the feds will come after him.

Please put in. Claim for Kerryon Johnson
BigAl2526 replied to Purplebulldog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buffalo is near the tail end of the pack in its ability to claim players who have been waived. If a desirable player gets waived. Buffalo has no chance. -
Is this a real or Fake photo? Rousseau?
BigAl2526 replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no reason I can imagine for the Bills to photoshop a photo like that on the official website. That said, I can't figure out why that huge guy in the red shirt is behind Rousseau in the picture. Rousseau's hands are likely the largest on the team and among the largest of any player in the league. -
Tulsa QB Zach Smith set for tryout with Bills
BigAl2526 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are several excellent tongue in cheek posts in this thread. This doesn't feel like one. Are you serious? -
I had a dog once that went on a wild goose chase. We had Canada geese that were wandering around our lawn. Our dog, a 12 lb chihuahua mix got loose and went tearing after the small flock. Fortunately for him, they calmly waited for him to get close, then took off, flaying far enough away to discourage him from following.

Tulsa QB Zach Smith set for tryout with Bills
BigAl2526 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good luck, Zach. Is there any reason for the Bills to switch him for one of the four current QBs? Yeah, if you can fleece the Packers by unloading Fromm. . . -
How did Jaret Patterson go undrafted??
BigAl2526 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll grant you that, but as you say, his elusiveness is similar to Singletary's who is already with the Bills. He doesn't give the Bills anything they don't have already.
