I think it is relatively easy to predict the AFCE and AFCS. I think way too many things can happen in the AFCN and AFCW to start etching anyone in stone.

If KC is not feeling the pressure yet, they must be brain dead.

9/26/21 Bills vs. WTF Postgame Thread
BigAl2526 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Regarding Chandler's initial point of discussion, I think it illustrates the risk of giving key starters too little playing time in preseason. Everyone was worried about Josh Allen regressing, but maybe it was just rust. I think it is also true that Buffalo has tended to struggle with defensive lines that are big, tough, and most of all physical. Pittsburgh, in my opinion, is one of the more physical defensive lines in the league. They like to beat up on offensive lines if they can. -
I'm OK with making taunting an unsportsmanlike penalty if they want. I think a fine is a bit much. Maybe if a player engages in such behavior regularly.

It helps keep our young defensive ends' confidence sky high as they breeze by Hart every day in practice.

Texans: Dumbest Coaching Decision Ever?

"Actually, we were just playing not to win." -
Actually, I posted as TigerJ for years. I wasn't banned at all, but somehow my computer lost the login information and I couldn't remember my password. I tried following the prescribed procedure to get a link to change my password, but never got an email. After a few months, I just decided to apply for a new account with a new user name. Honestly, the OP looks like a troll job. Epenesa was hitting Tagovailoa as the ball was leaving, not a late hit. It was not too high, not too low. When they landed Epenesa was perpendicular across his chest, but he was on his hands and knees in a crawl position and did not look as if he was putting weight on Tua. It could not have been much cleaner unless Tua still had a hold of the ball going down.

On the stat sheet Star Lotulelei only had a single tackle, but may have had a lot to do with Miami failing (though barely) to get 4 yards per carry from their running backs. Likewise, Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison were relatively invisible, but I can't really think of any contributions they made that wouldn't have shown up on the state sheet. I think they were just plain not very effective. I can't really imagine a scenario where Hughes and Addison are with the team in 2022. Oliver was not on the stat sheet at all. He needs to start showing up.

It may seem like an arbitrary and unnecessary rule to some, but it's not the first time the league has decided to make a rule about something that a loot of fans, players and coaches don't mind. In the final analysis, it is a rule because the people making the rules think it should be. They have that right, and the only way that will change is if having it as a penalty somehow costs the league.

9/19//21 Week 2 Bills @ Miami Postgame Thread
BigAl2526 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm very happy with the game results. I'm thrilled with the defense. I'm pretty happy with the offense. Why pretty happy with the offense? I believe at this point Josh Allen's struggles are far from incurable. Though Allen had a fairly poor completion percentage, he took care of the football. At the same time, the running game is looking more effective than it did in 2020. I think that between the running game and the defense, it will take some of the pressure off of Allen as he tries to straighten his game out. Having a mediocre opponent next Sunday won't hurt. -
Who has been our best player so far?

I think he's somewhat underutilized, but he's done everything asked of him. No drops through two games. -
Tua bruised ribs (update: fractured, headed to IR)
BigAl2526 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The nice thing is, it was a clean hit. Epenesa made a lot of nice plays, like that one, that never even made it to the stat sheet -
If the toe is in bounds and the heel never touches the ground, it's still a reception.

To rub salt in any NY Jets wounds, Sam Darnold was 26 of 38 for 305 yards, 2 TDs and 1 interception.

Bills switch to man coverage vs Steelers
BigAl2526 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tagovailoa is a rhythm passer who tends to throw more short stuff. I think man coverage is generally going to be more effective versus that kind of QB. Whether or not Wallace can be effective depends on the receiver. He's slow, and not particularly strong, so he'll be vulnerable to burners, and also big, physical receivers. Unfortunately, Miami has both size and speed. Parker is big, and pretty fast to boot. Fuller and Waddle are both burners. Whatever Buffalo does, Wallace is going to need help. -
Does anyone else sort of avoid this place after a loss?

I take a day off from looking at Bills news and message boards after a loss. I just don't want to deal with it, and I don't have to. -
Why can't Tribisky be the holder on place kicks?
BigAl2526 replied to JohninMinn.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What kind of record does Matt Haack have on trick plays? As has been mentioned Brian Moorman was very athletic and capable of executing a variety of trick plays. Punters often have some real athletic ability. They are, of course, typically used as holders on kickoff because they receive long snaps as part of their trade. Certainly with the proliferation of the shotgun formation, QBs receive the ball on shotgun snaps all the time. It would be reasonable to put them in the role of holder. Holders might be at slight risk of injury, but they don't get hurt often. Receivers could probably make good holders too. After all, they have to catch all kinds of balls, sometimes in very difficult situations. Some of Buffalo's receivers have experience with trick plays, including throwing the ball. Personally, I figure having the punter is holder is normally a sound practice. I don't have any problem with it. -
I don't associate football with eating whatsoever. I eat what I eat regardless of whether or not there is a game.

Steve Tasker had an interesting take on Butler's comments. Essentially, he thought Butler is terrified of the prospect of Josh Allen running when a play breaks down because he is a wild card you can't account for. His comments represent an effort to try and use pre game comments to lessen the risk of Josh Allen making big plays with his legs.
