Don't go to sleep on Andy Reid. He's liable to draw a mustache on you.

Why are we playing in KC two years in a row?
BigAl2526 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
The short week for KC does to some extent neutralize any home field advantage they might have had. Plus, they are coming off a tough divisional game. -
Bills finally sign a Safety: Jared Mayden
BigAl2526 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he's backing up Poyer because there wasn't anybody else. The Bills like versatility in players, but most players have a natural position, and they are not likely to play as well at a secondary position. Cam Lewis is on the small side to play safety and I don't think he has any particular traits that help him overcome that lack of size for the safety position. -
Bills finally sign a Safety: Jared Mayden

He sounds more athletic than Jaquan Johnson. This gives Buffalo 2 safeties on the 53 man roster and 1 on the PS. That's probably the right number to carry. They've also got a couple guys who are designated as DBs. Kyler McMichael is similar in size to Mayden. Jordan Millerr is taller, but pretty slender. Both are generally seen as cornerbacks. Just looking at the numbers of CBs and safeties on the roster and PS, the balance is better with the release of Ingram and signing Mayden. -
Gabe Davis got one hand on the ball then as he was pulling it down and getting his second hand on the ball, Fitzpatrick got his hands on the ball. While both had their hands on the ball, Fitzpatrick managed to pull the ball to his body. Davis never let go of the ball with either hand. Then Davis yanked the ball away from him securing sole possession. Fitzpatrick appeared to have the upper hand as they crossed the goal line, but it was still being contested. I don't know the exact wording of the rule about possession, but that's what I saw. I'm assuming that because they were still contesting when they crossed into the end zone, possession had not been established even though Fitzpatrick had pulled the ball to his body. It was not until Davis yanked the ball away that any had clear possession.

Definitely a phantom penalty. Maybe, the league can provide Tom Brady a couple flags to wear at his waistline. Then opposing defenders can just grab a flag to score the sack.

Tough to win when you're missing some key players, isn't it. Oh wait.

Sorry. My bad. a sub 4.4 40. I'll go back and correct my post.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - First Draft, Second Draft
BigAl2526 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really enjoy watching the Bills win in blowout fashion. No stress. No worry. I suppose it's too much to ask for a blowout of the Chiefs next weekend. -
Lofton and Randy Moss also happened to be very fast. Lofton, I believe ran a sub 4.4 40 and Randy Moss ran a legit 4.3. I think your point is legit, however.

Like all Bills fans (I hope, I'm thrilled with the win and the dominant performance, but I don't think there is anything wrong with maintaining an awareness of areas that could use improvement. I'm sure Brandon Beane has not stopped looking for areas of the roster that he might want to improve when he has the chance. After a career day, Josh Allen was heard to comment on the mistakes he made. Regarding Keenum, I don't think anything is likely to happen until the offseason, but a backup QB needs to demonstrate some kind of effectiveness when he's called upon. Backups are expected to do something when they play even when they don't get the practice reps accorded to the starter, but Keenum is having major accuracy issues. I do think the Bills will be looking hard at their options at backup QB next spring.
-
He left because he was hoping to start elsewhere and get paid a starter's salary. I'd be happy with him at some point if he becomes content with a backup role and salary.

The thing about John Harbaugh's decision to go for it. The Bills drove right down the field and were toying with the Ravens at the end of the drive before kicking a FG with no time left. The way they were moving the ball, the odds were very high they could have scored a TD if they wanted to anyway. Baltimore would likely have lost the game by a point even if they kicked the FG.

Next game, I don't just want to win, I want blood.

Josh Norris highlighting Gabe clearly not 100 percent
BigAl2526 replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hind sight is 20/20. Foresight is often a guess. We can look at the last game and say Davis was handicapped by his ankle injury. Unfortunately, we can't look at the next game and know how much his injured ankle will have healed up in a week's time. I think this is an area where we have to defer to the best judgment of team doctors, training staff and coaches. Maybe they'll make the wrong decision, but they're still better equipped to make it than we are. -
You're worried about Pickett a week after facing Lamar Jackson?
-
All I can say is, when Kenny throws the ball, Buffalo needs to be ready to Pickett.
-
In my post, I did say "if needed." By that, I mean if an injury happens to McKenzie or Shakir. Regardless of what Austin has or hasn't done in his career, he does have a skill set that might enable him to produce in the right circumstances. The Bills think that is enough of a possibility to keep him on the roster. It wouldn't be the first time a player blossoms on his third or fourth team after having struggled early in his career.
-
Not a critical loss. I think McKenzie and Shakir will share the slot receiver load. Tavon Austin is available if we need him.

When would we hear if Tre is coming off IR?

If they decide to start the process of reactivation this week.
