  1. I follow mock drafts year around. I've mostly seen interior offensive linemen and safeties mocked to the Bills late in the first round. I've also seen a stray WR or running back mocked to them as well, but that's pretty rare.
  2. Bills fans everywhere would be on cloud nine.
  3. This looks to be a major rivalry for the next decade. Buffalo and KC are likely to meet just about every year in the regular season. as both teams are likely to win their divisions multiple times in the years ahead. (as per the league formula for determining the schedule). The playoffs are less certain, of course. I need a blowout win by the Bills to help me recover from the tension of the KC game though.
  4. Buffalo Rumblings was a lot kinder to Siran Neal than PFF and a lot of other observers. IIn their opinion, while Neal lost some battles to Kelsey, he also won enough to help the Bills. Kelsey had a solid day receiving, with 8 catches for 108 yards (or thereabouts - my memory is not clear on the exact number). On the other hand, Kelsey had no TD catches. Buffalo Rumblings analyzes a number of plays where Neal's coverage on Kelsey prevented Mahomes from completing or making a pass to Kelsey. All 22 analysis of Siran Neal defending against Travis Kelsey
  5. Of course, that 78% double team rate means that most of the time a player is not available to help block at another position, say defensive end, where Von Miller and Greg Rousseau are racking up a healthy number of sacks.
  6. Copy cat strategies only work if you have the right personnel. Matt Milano, being as good as he is reading and anticipating , combined with his quickness, makes the spying tactic work for the Bills. I suspect some teams don't have the guy who can make it work.
  7. Unlike some posters, I'm not down on Buffalo doing "cutesy" things down near the goal line. I think creativity is a factor in what has made Buffalo's offense so potent over the last three years. I think it is simply a matter of executing plays more consistently. Occasional mistakes are probably unavoidable, but players need to make plays a lot more than they miss plays. Josh Allen misses them once in a while, but he makes them a lot more often. Isaiah McKenzie had a really bad game. He needs to redeem himself, and if he can't demonstrate he can be more consistent on the good side, his days as the starting slot receiver are numbered.
  8. He's somewhat more athletic than Levi Wallace, and it turns out he's also smart and disciplined as well. With Tre White coming back, Buffalo has a quality CB room with plenty of great depth too. More evidence of Brandon Beane's team building acumen.
  9. I'll try to keep up with the rest of the division and the rest of the divisions as well. I have to keep up with the pickem league too. That's been fun since I'm up pretty high on the leader board.
  10. Apparently not that much time.
  11. "Please don't pull my fingernails off. I can't tell you any more about Ken Dorsey's offense. They cut me because I'm a slow learner."
  12. I knew you'd be showing ups sooner or later, Spags. I don't feel the need to talk a lot of smack. I'll just wait until after the game and say "I told you so."
  13. Is it not possible that Daboll and Dorsey are great coaches and Allen is a great QB?? Heck, that might mean that McDermott and Beane are great at evaluating talent and hiring/drafting/signing the right people.
  14. I suppose it's going to be up to the Bills to deliver a smackdown to the Jets and us to deliver a smackdown to Spags when he shows up.
  15. The tripping should have been called on Jones. There were some ticky tac holding calls on Buffalo CBs when KC receivers were within 5 yards of the LoS. There were also a few bad/questionable calls that went against KC.
  16. McKenzie had a very, very, bad, bad day. I don't know that McDermott is ready to take the starting slot receiver position away from him yet, but he's got to start focusing a lot more and needs to elevate his play, or Shakir will get his opportunity to start. I actually hope McKenzie comes around because I want to see Shakir develop both as an outside receiver and a slot guy. I think if he has to focus too much on the slot, his development on the outside will be hampered.
  17. Yeah, I think it's a mistake to say the second half of the season is going to be a cakewalk. I think Buffalo is the best team in the league, and all things being equal can beat anybody they play, including New England, the Jets and the Raiders, but a crucial mistake here and a bad call there, can put the Bills on the losing end of almost any game that's not a blowout.

  19. Agreed. Especially against a team like KC, you want to use what works. If you are crushing a weak team and you want to practice your zone blocking in live game conditions, fine, but go with a sure thing in a tough game.
  20. Benford is labeled as "unspecified" after Friday on the injury report. That means there is no medical reason to suggest he won't play. Whether or not he starts or plays is a coaching decision.
  21. I think Benford will play. Dane Jackson will start. I don't know whether Elam or Benford will start across from Jackson, but I think both will have reps.
  22. When I saw the title, I thought it was a guy claiming that the Bills players were bickering and backbiting off the field. Honestly, but Bills really should fix things in the visitors' locker room as much as is practical. I assume it will be addressed in the new stadium.
  23. The interesting thing is Kurt Warner's use of Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos as an example of the bad team/QB. There was a time not so long ago that Wilson was regarded as one of the top QBs in the league by many. It's not like the difference was in Buffalo having elite receivers either. In the first two examples for Buffalo, it was rookie fifth round draft pick Khalil Shakir making the play. Most of us like Shakir as a receiver, especially after the Pittsburgh game, but I think at least one of the Denver receivers in those first two examples had more experience and a better college pedigree than Shakir. Interesting.
  24. Benford's hand can be protected with a cast. I think he'll play versus the Chiefs.
  25. I wouldn't either for a pick in the top 20-25. At 31 however, it's not so different from a high second round pick. What holds me back is injury history. McCaffrey has had close to a full season in the past 2 years.
