  1. DeJean has played some CB in college, but I expect if the Bills drafted him, they'd be looking to play him as a safety. My first choice would be a WR. I'd like to see the Bills up their speed at WR. They've got some 4.4 guys, but the closest thing they've got to a true burner is Deonte Harty, and he's only mane one big play I can recall all season at WR. He's greatly limited by his size. Legette in the second round would be a great get, but Beane has about as much chance of drafting Legette in the bottom half of round 2 as he has of winning a billion dollar Powerball jackpot. I just don't see DeJean has having the kind of big time impact Beane and McDermott hope for in their first round picks. He would, however, have a chance to be a solid contributor if the Bills did draft him.
  2. The heat stroke game was early in the 2022 season. That's ancient history. I wouldn't even consider that at this point talking about trends. I maintain that for the Bills this season it's been more about the Bills' own ability to focus and execute in any given game than the opponent, regardless of who the opponent is. Many of Buffalo's struggles and several of their losses have been against lesser opponents, games they really should have one. They include losses to the Jets in the season opener, at New England and Denver. I don't think any of their losses are really due to the Bills playing a better team. The London game against Jacksonville was as much about Jacksonville having the extra week in London to get acclimated to the time change as it was about anything else.
  3. I agree that Buffalo needs to address D-line in the off season. I'm not sure who will be available in free agency. As far as the draft is concerned, it's a little early to try and figure out where the Bills will go and when. A lot of mock drafters are projecting the Bills to take a WR at this point. I would be happy if they got the right one. The problem is they may be picking pretty late. It depends on what kind of run happens on what positions. There are several WRs I think could be real difference makers for the Bills, but I'm not sure all of those who will go in the first round will be difference makers. I've seen a few mocks that have Buffalo picking a CB. From my perspective, this does not look like a great cornerback draft at the top. I'm hoping that Tre White can come back. If that happens and Buffalo can retain Benford and Douglas, I think the Bills will be fine at CB. A few mocks have Buffalo going safety. There seem to be some decent safety prospects, but none of them strike me as obvious first rounders. I've also seen a few mocks the project a defensive end to Buffalo. Defensive end is interesting as there does not seem to be great consensus on the ranking of defensive ends in the draft. A guy might be top five in one ranking and bottom third in another. I think that means there's a chance Buffalo could end up with a great value at DE if the right guy drops and Buffalo picks him up. I've also seen mocks where Buffalo picks an offensive lineman. I don't see that at all. I don't think there are any interior offensive linemen worth a first round pick and I don't think the Bills are unhappy with their tackle situation. I haven't seen the Bills pick any other positions in round one. Of the positions I mentioned above, my best guess is it's likely to come down to WR or defensive end if the Bills are picking in the bottom half of round one.
  4. I hope you're right. I don't want to be stuck with radio for a Bills playoff game. Also, Buffalo is playing the Sunday evening game next weekend. It's not a big deal, but that makes it a little tougher physically to get ready for a Saturday game the following weekend.
  5. I'm not at all surprised at the possibility he was favoring one arm. I would expect that it will be less of an issue in another week. How much less is anybody's guess.
  6. I think the oddsmakers are probably remembering what Buffalo did to Miami the first time they played them this season. It also doesn't help Miami that Chubb is out with an injury. Allen may have bruised his non-throwing shoulder against New England, but Tagovailoa hurt his throwing arm versus the Ravens. If one of them is going to play through the discomfort and be effective, my money is on Allen.
  7. I remember how last season many fans thought Bernard was a wasted pick because all he did was play special teams. I do think it took him a while to adjust to the pro game, but I think now he's a pleasant surprise to all of us and maybe to the coaches as well.
  8. I could see the Ravens playing starters for a quarter or so and then resting them.
  9. I agree. It will be a lot easier watching Buffalo/Miami if Buffalo already has a playoff berth locked up.
  10. I'm hoping that Daquan Jones and Micah Hyde, with a game under belts, will have even more impact versus Miami and moving forward than they did versus New England.
  11. While a certain playoff berth before Buffalo ever takes the field Sunday night would ease my mind, I don't think there is any way Buffalo rests their starters with a chance to take the division and gain the #2 seed.
  12. I think he's probably OK physically. He might have a contusion in his left shoulder (bruise). I think the whole offense had timing and sloppiness issues in the game. Unfortunately, the Bills seem to play down to the level of lesser opponents. They need to turn it up against Miami.
  13. I noticed Von Miller didn't practice on Friday. I think the decision to sit him was made early in the week.
  14. Douglas on defense. On offense, I think perhaps it's time for Kincaid to get back on track.
  15. I would not vote for Damar Hamlin. His inspiring comeback from a near fatal heart episode not withstanding, he is pretty much irrelevant as a football player. In my thinking, a comeback player is a player who is making a meaningful football contribution to his team. There are several nominees I would choose over Hamlin.
  16. Bills knitted cap and scarf set, Bills slipper Crocs. Also, my wife's niece gave me a Highmark stadium snow globe.
  17. How did that prediction work out for you? If they really figured they were going to stash him, they wouldn't have bothered opening his 21 day window.
  18. The Chargers game was certainly a wake up call. Buffalo has an extra day of rest versus a day of deficit as in the Chargers game (the Chargers got extra rest compared to Buffalo's deficit. That will help. A year ago Buffalo took care of New England (week 18) and Miami (week 15) late in the season. I expect them to do the same this season.
  19. If my addition is right, Buffalo has to put Elam on the 53 man roster by tomorrow or he's done for the year. Right now, I think Hyde is the player who would make the biggest difference if they can get him back. After that, it's Jones. I'm not even thinking about Milano being back or he would be in consideration for the player who could make the biggest difference. Hyde is important because Rapp can't cover.
  20. I had to listen on the radio. That gives me a little different, though probably less valid perspective. I heard the Bills playing a very sloppy game. A few questionable flags. Too many penalties. Josh seemed to be having an off game. Having an extra offensive lineman in the game, which Buffalo used a lot, seemed to be virtually useless. On defense, Taylor Rapp seems to be a significant liability in coverage. I can't say I'm surprised since his strength is physicality rather than athleticism and coverage ability. Buffalo needs Hyde to get healthy for the playoffs. I think the Bills were clearly hurt by the disparity in the rest time between the two teams, the Chargers having 9 days to Buffalo's 6 days. I'm not offering this as an excuse. I'm saying when the other team has an advantage like that. the Bills need to dig deeper to find the focus to overcome the disparity. The Bills have enough talent that they should be able to overcome that kind of advantage and still win handily.
  21. I believe that if Buffalo wins out and Cincinnati goes on to lose, then Buffalo is in the playoffs. Buffalo would finish ahead of Cincinati. Cleveland and Houston, two other teams (with Cincinati) that are ahead of Buffalo, play each other tomorrow. One of them will be knocked behind Buffalo. The combination moves Buffalo up two spots in the playoff race. That's all Buffalo needs.
  22. The fact that Buffalo is on a slightly shortened week while the Chargers have extra rest is a bit worrisome.
  23. This confirms what I said in another thread. Of the Bills win out, then a lot more things have to align to keep the Bills out of the playoffs. There are many possible routes to the playoffs, if the Bills win out and only one tortuous route to the Bills missing the playoffs, if the Bills win out.
  24. Chili, I think. I'm not a foodie, and not into having menu items for opponent cities' cuisine.
