  1. As far as the way the Bills could be affected in the divisional round is concerned, I'd almost rather the game was moved to Atlanta rather than postponed 27 hours.
  2. It will be colder with less wind, though it's still going to be windy. The wind will be out of the southwest so any lake effect should be well north of Orchard Park, maybe even north of Buffalo.
  3. The league could have shown a little foresight. Buffalo is the NFL City most likely to have weather that could force the postponement or relocation of a game. Knowing that, the league could have scheduled Buffalo-Pittsburgh on a Saturday. That way, if weather forced a postponement, they could still have played on a Sunday.
  4. The one thing I don't like about the decision is the short week it will give the Bills to prep for the division round assuming they beat Pittsburgh. Buffalo's potential opponents next weekend all play today. The fact that Buffalo's opponent next weekend will have played their wild card weekend game today (Saturday) makes it even worse.
  5. I haven't followed the thread, so this might have been mentioned, but weather modeling as we approach the game Sunday has trended toward the worst case scenario as far as the weather is concerned. Models show a persistent band of heavy lake effect snow over Orchard Park to go with high winds and cold temperatures. It's going to be miserable for fans, not to mention dangerous driving. If you don't dress for it, you're at risk for frost bite and hypothermia. For players, add the issues of footing and the challenge of throwing and catching a hard, slippery ball that will be affected greatly by the wind. The Bills need to be sure they have the right footwear and receivers had better have the right gloves. Running the ball and stopping the run will be critical.
  6. "mutually agreed?" What really happened? Robert Kraft said to Belichick, "We won't use the word 'fired' and you can go quietly, or we can do it the other way. It's up to you." Belichick to Kraft, "(mutter, mutter, mutter) I suppose so."
  7. The wind is pretty much a given as far as Sunday's game is concerned. So are temperatures and bitter wind chills. Lake effect snow is a more complicated issue. It depends on a number of factors including wind direction and air temperatures aloft as well as at the surface. The forecast I've seen calls for west southwest winds on Sunday. I think that is a wind direction that could cause some lake effect, but lake effect bands are fickle. Sometimes, lake effect bands can be only a few miles wide and meander. I fully expect that there will be some lake effect snow on Sunday. I don't think the experts have pinpointed how much snow or whether the snow will be steady or intermittent.
  8. I can't see McDermott hiring a defensive coordinator whose philosophy and scheme on defense is so different from his own. I think McDermott believes strongly in his defensive philosophy and scheme.
  9. Who would you like to see Buffalo face in the division round of the playoffs (January 13-14)? The possibilities are Kansas City, Houston, or Cleveland. Miami is the #6 seed and would automatically meet top seed Baltimore should they win their Wild Card weekend game. Personally, I'd like to see Buffalo face KC. This is a team that Buffalo knows very well. KC's offense is having a sub par year. They have a tough defense. Chis Jones in particular is a terror, but Buffalo has faced monsters in the middle of opposing defensive lines all season. QBs with whom Buffalo is unfamiliar have tended to give Buffalo trouble. Joe Flacco has been around the block a few times, but the current Bills players and coaching staff has not faced him. CJ Stroud is really good rookie. Call me crazy, but I'd rather face Pat Mahomes with a depleted group of receivers because I know Buffalo can take him.
  10. Morris was playing injured. Torrence had some bad plays. Miami blitzed a lot. Brady and Josh need to have preparations ready for heavy blitzing teams, whether is screen plays, hot reads or whatever.
  11. This makes some sense to me. Adding another game does not. I think the league is pushing the practical limit of the physical pounding that teams can take with a 17 game season and then four more games culminating in the Super Bowl. The game at the end of the season starts to become less a matter of skill sets, game planning and execution and more a matter of luck at who can stay the healthiest. That's not what I want at least.
  12. Buffalo has the longest active win streak in the league right now.
  13. I'm assuming that there will be local free coverage of the game in Miami and Kansas City, but I think the "greed" accusation is accurate. I'll just follow the game on NFL.com.
  14. I think Khalil will have a significant role in the offense next season. I'm not sure that it will be as a starter. If Davis is gone, which seems possible, I expect Buffalo will draft a WR in the first round or two. I also think Shorter will get more of a look in training camp. What the depth chart at WR will look like in September is anyone's guess.
  15. That's the way the NFL works. Clearly Tennessee helped the Bills, but they weren't trying to do the Bills a favor.
  16. I don't think there is any argument. Josh had a tough first half, but the Bills moved the ball the whole game. Buffalo left like 21 points on the table. I could wish that josh exercised a little more discretion on his throws, but with the game on the line, there isn't a QB I'd rather have in Josh's place.
  17. I might see a bigger Bills fan when I look in a mirror. That's not necessarily a good thing.
  18. If you're into omens, that's a terrible omen for Miami.
  19. Just hold the Jags one more time before halftime, then score on your drive to open the second half and you're up three scores, Titans.
  20. The injury to Trevor Lawrence is the biggest reason to feel good about Tennessee. He may play, but he's not going to be 100%..
  21. McDaniel and company are mostly thinking about what the Bills did to them in their first game this season. Miami had crushed Denver and observers were calling them "unstoppable." Buffalo not only stopped them, they trampled them.
  22. When I saw the number of starters that Baltimore was sitting, I was worried.
  23. If I decide to do Miami based menu, it would probably be seasoned air fried tilapia.
  24. No way. Division championship and second seed are sufficiently worthy goals to play for.
  25. I don't see that happening. The skills that Buffalo needs in their safeties are a lot more like the skill set of a good zone CB rather than a man coverage. Zone coverage is exactly what Elam struggles with. I think Elam either figures out how to play CB in Buffalo's system or he's done. I agree with those who think Benford is the more likely player to switch to safety.
