I'm not too worried about the safety position because Poyer and Hyde were noticeably slower last year, yet we still had a top ranked defense. I think Rapp is the odd man out at safety. He showed very little in the way of coverage skills for us last season and I was surprised that he was re-signed. He'll still probably get some reps as a big nickel and in 3 safety looks. I'm more worried about our depth at outside cornerback considering our only option behind Benford and Douglas is Kaiir "Healthy Scratch" Elam

Grade the 2024 Bills draft class
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD replied to TFBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Coleman could have fallen to the 3rd round if the Bills didn't take him at #33 and we somehow got only one receiver from a historically deep draft at the position. However, I do like most of the other picks and I think Ray Davis will be a beast. -

I'm shocked that Leonard Taylor went undrafted. He was projected as a 3rd rounder on a lot of draft sites. -

Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State

Those are just dropped passes. Coleman had 115 catches on 192 targets in college. That's under 60% catch percentage. -
Who do you want with our first pick in 2nd?
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD replied to Back2Buff's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Beane will trade down one more time to ~40 and take the best receiver left and pick up a 4th, then he'll cobble together all his 5th and 4th round picks to sneak back into the 3rd round. -
Bills interested in Deebo Samuel per Mike Giardi

I don't want an expensive injury plagued wide receiver that the offensive coordinator has to "scheme open". Aiyuk would be much more valuable to us -
PFF Trade Grades - Round 1 - Bills B+ and A

I doubt Beane is staying put at #33. He has probably been comparing trade packages all day.- 46 replies

NeverOutNick's Annual WR Rankings
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
This draft is absolutely loaded with wide receivers and I would consider trading away our 2025 2nd rounder we got from the Diggs Trade to get back into the 3rd round. My sleepers are: Javon Baker Ja’Lynn Polk Jamari Thrash They won't wow you with their measurables, but they get open and catch the ball. -
Why the Bills don't "need" a traditional X receiver
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD replied to Mikey152's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills do need a dominant wide receiver after losing Diggs, but the weapons that we have left allow for some flexibility. We have bigger body receivers in Kincaid, Shorter and Hollins, Speed receivers in Samuel, Isabella, and Hamler, and a budding star slot receiver in Shakir. We need a talented receiver who can beat press coverage and get open downfield. My hope is that Beane double dips and takes receivers with different skill sets to exploit matchups. Take one guy at #28 like Adonai Mitchell, Xavier Worthy, or Troy Franklin (I'm assuming Brian Thomas will be gone) Pick #60 can be used to address another need like DT or Safety Then, move up into the 3rd for a guy like Javon Baker, Malachi Corley, or Roman Wilson using the 2025 2nd rounder from the Diggs trade -

Stuffing my face with pizza & wings waiting for Beane to trade up for a receiver -
I like Troy Franklin better than Legette or McConkey. Franklin can be the true deep threat that we've lacked since John Brown left.

Pegulas selling 25% of the Bills, per Tim Graham

Erie County residents should already own 25% of the team considering we paid for the stadium. -
I don't think it makes any sense to trade for a star receiver considering we can't pay them without getting into cap hell. I'd rather use the draft picks we have to take a chance on a top wr in the 1st and have them under contract for up to 5 years for a low cap hit.

I think the only safety with a 1st round grade is Tyler Nubin, but I'm confident we'll address wide receiver before safety. Kamren Kinchens had a bad combine that will probably drop him to the 3rd. I would be happy with Javon Bullard in the 2nd, but I could see Beane taking a couple safety prospects later in the draft.

Getting separation is the most important component of playing wide receiver. It's difficult to tell whether Keon Coleman will be N'Keal Harry or Drake London at the next level. Josh doesn't tend to throw a lot of 50-50 balls or fades, and only throws to a guy when they're in the open. A receiver like Troy Franklin at #28 or trading up for Brian Thomas could be electric with Josh throwing them the ball.

Someone from the top group has to fall because I don't think we'll have 7 receivers go in the 1st round like a lot of mocks are showing. Teams also have access to prospects' medical information that isn't publicly known, which can cause a prospect to fall. I just hope Beane doesn't get antsy and trade up for a wide receiver in a draft with this much depth.

I would rather take a wr in both the 1st and 2nd round than trade up to the top 15 for a receiver. Adonai Mitchell or Brian Thomas may be there at #28 and then take McConkey, Franklin, or Wilson at #60.
