I really think Spencer Brown's drop-off in play is due to the fact that his back isn't fully recovered from surgery. His height makes bending even more important to maintain leverage and he looks to be in pain frequently. I think they may try to have Brown and Quessenberry split reps at RT until he's fully healthy.

It's hard to tell who's at fault in that situation. I'm not sure how much freedom Josh is given to change plays at the line. Kromer uses more complex run schemes that might not be easy to just flip to the other side of the line.

It's not Josh Allen's fault that the defense gets penetration on every play. With the exception of Dion Dawkins, every one of our offensive linemen are playing at replacement level.

I think the fact that Gabe Davis didn't act like it was a catch influenced the refs. If he celebrated with his teammates, there's a chance one of the refs signals TD and it would at least go to review.

I was at the Titans game and I noticed that Spencer Brown kept reaching for his back and appeared to be in pain during the second half (Quessenberry later came in to replace him). He had back surgery during the offseason, so that's a very worrying sign. He doesn't look like the player we saw last season and may not be fully recovered.

If Poyer is still out, we could sign Josh Thomas from the Cardinals practice squad.

Runningback is the one position where we have good depth and no injuries. We need offensive line depth.

It's funny because during the drought years, the only thing we could do RIGHT on offense was run the ball. We had backs like McGahee, Henry, Lynch, Jackson, and McCoy and some future HOF linemen like Ruben Brown and Jason Peters. We're built for the passing game and we've only taken one offensive lineman with a 1st round pick in the last 20 years (Eric Wood in 2009)

He has been lights out with 1-on-1 open field tackles so far this year. He is absolutely playing at a pro bowl level.

I'm not sure what the deal is with Rhodes. He had a career resurgence when he signed with the Colts in 2020, then his production fell off the next year. He's 32 and huge for a cb at 218 pounds, so maybe he just has to lose a little weight to gain back some speed.

Maybe we could give the Giants a 7th rounder for Nick McCloud back. He knows our system and the coaches were training him at both CB and Safety, which we're both very thin at.

I'm yet to hear any update on Dane Jackson besides the fact that he was released from the hospital. I hope he will be back soon, but neck injuries are handled very cautiously by team doctors.

CB and Interior O-line depth were the two areas I was concerned with before the season. I never expected to be in this position heading into week 3.

With Dane Jackson out an unknown period of time, Benford with a broken hand, and Tre White still a few weeks from being eligible to play, it's clear that we need to make a signing at CB this week. We called up Ja'Marcus Ingram, who came into the game after Benford was injured, but he looked lost in zone coverage (as he did in the preseason). It's likely too early in the season to persue a trade, so we will need to look to free agents. Here are a few of our options: Kevin King: King played well for the Packers when healthy, but he has had a number of injuries over his career. He has stated that he will take the 2022 season off in order to heal up, but if he is feeling ready to play, he could be convinced to play for a contender if the price is right. Kevin King is 6'3" and played mostly zone coverage in the Packers' scheme. Joe Haden: Haden retired from the NFL last week, but he may still be persuaded to play. He stated that he had interest in playing for the Bills and Von Miller was publicly lobbying for us to sign him. He may have lost a step at age 33, but he may have one more year left in him. Richard Sherman: This suggestion will likely get some backlash considering his drunk driving incident and his poor play with the Buccaneers. Regarding his play in 2021, I think that may have been due to the fact that he was put into the starting line-up 3 days after being signed without fully learning the defense or having practice time with the team. We're in desperate need at cornerback and Sherman desperately wants to end his career on a positive note and win another championship. He has a long track record of success in zone coverage and he's worth a look if there's mutual interest. There are a lot of other free agent cornerbacks, so who do you want to bring in?

I was very encouraged by how well our young guys played in the secondary. They gave up a couple big plays, but held Tua in check and made Tyreek Hill irrelevant.

The one positive aspect is the fact that we play mainly zone coverage which means that pressing receivers is less important in our scheme. Even if it's broken, he may be able to get a club cast on his hand and continue playing relatively soon.

We played them in 2020 with our backups when the Dolphins needed to win to make the playoffs, and we won by 30 points. We are to them what the Patriots have been to us for the last 20 years. Beating an injury-ravaged Bills team would be their biggest accomplishment of the last decade.

They've definitely had tough matchups. I think it would be a much bigger problem if not for Josh's elite mobility. The one thing I've liked from our interior offensive line so far under Kromer is that we're pulling our guards more on both run and pass plays and the D-line looks unsure which direction the play is going.

I predict that if Trubisky struggles again, we will see Kenny Pickett's NFL debut tonight.

It's a shame Daboll snatched Nick McCloud from our practice squad considering the coaches were cross-training him at CB and Safety. Our secondary is in rough shape and the D-line will need to dominate this game.
