10/14/24 Game 6 Bills at (NJ) Jets MNF Post Game thread
Lake Ontario replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
When asked about the Hail Mary by Laura Rutledge before the half, McD told her, "...we were guarding the sidelines." I've seen a couple mentions in this thread that our TWO pass rushers had responsibility of the sidelines. But I'm more curious of the big picture: There was 8 seconds on the clock, from their own 48 yd line. Our head coach was concerned about defending the sidelines? He's coaching like the worst outcome was a 20yd completion that yields the Jets a long FG attempt with 1 second left in the half. No! The worst outcome is you give Rodgers all night to complete a Hail Mary! I can't believe he admitted out loud what he was doing. -
The right mix between air and ground
Lake Ontario replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Getting "behind the chains" seems to be exactly what happened in our two losses. In both those games I found it incredibly frustrating to watch the high percentage of 1st down runs by Cook through the A-Gaps. Cook seems much more effective when a little space is created for him IMO. If we MUST test between the guards, I like the head of steam Harris brings to those runs over Cook. -
Areas/towns to stay for us out of state fans traveling in Oct?
Lake Ontario replied to Cache's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree East Aurora is a good recommendation. Depending on your willingness to commute around during the stay, also consider Lewiston. It's very close to the Falls. Several great restaurants and shops and the Barton Hill Hotel and Spa for lodging. Maybe also consider Ellicottville for that time of year. -
Damn these allergies.. helluva hype video.

Interesting with this insight to think about how broken up Troy sounded the next day. More than sympathy behind those tears? Also interesting Diggs has not been available to the media very much after last Monday's events. For him not to be on the podium as a captain, leader, catching the bomb against Pats... he might want to stay away from a mic for a while due to bad taste in his mouth.

Jerry Sullivan crosses the line. Comments against women.

All we need to know about him is after 30+ years in town, his credentials now read "Niagara Gazette." -
Speculative article on friction between McDermott and Staff?
Lake Ontario replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Is it true Bass posted a video of himself squib kicking a day or few days after the game? I didn't know that. 1. I'm sure it pissed off McDermott who wanted this locked down. 2. On the surface you have to accept that means he wasn't asked to kick it short. That's a surprise to me. I think if it was 100% on McD (the kick) he would own it. Seems possible the ST coach either blew the communication or overruled the HC. -
Walter Football Mock with the Hot Take on our MLB
Lake Ontario replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall
I watched Nakobe Dean quite a bit the last two years. His instincts and football smarts are indeed great. However, if you could swap those two in a hypothetical trade, I think Bills fans would very much miss Edmunds' size. Dean gives up a ton of height, reach and lbs to Edmunds. -
If Epenessa is not setting the edge to contain and make sure the play doesn't get outside of him, who on this play has containment responsibility? I realize Harris cuts back inside so it's moot on this play. However, on the 2pt conversion, Epenessa shoots to the inside again and on that play they do keep it outside. I realize there are stunts, but unless we're constantly mixing those in, why isn't he setting an edge?

Our long Cody Ford National Nightmare is over.
Lake Ontario replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's no other way to spin this. If Ford doesn't turn into a reliable starter for many seasons, passing on DK is a huge miss. It isn't like DK was under the radar. He had a lot of attention in that draft and was exactly what a lot of Bills fans were hoping for. -
Yes! Was home from college as we used to get the entire week for Thanksgiving. I had similar story to Ethan above. A single photographer needed help carrying all his stuff. I was leaning on the wall pre-game and when someone asked me if I "wanted to come on the field" I thought it was security telling me to stop leaning on the wall. After I understood the question, I said hell yes! I got a press pass and one of the greatest sporting events memories of my life. I was in the tunnel end for the celebration and got to shake hands with Fred Smerlas after he had blocked what would have been a game winning field goal by the Jets. I couldn't believe 1. how big his hands were and 2. how much tape he had wrapped around his giant hands. I think my brother in law still has one of the end zone pile-ons.
