  1. I think everybody would have been fine with 10-7 or 11-6 and a division win going into the season. It was supposed to be a "rebuild year". I think the fact that the rest of the AFC looks so vulnerable has people getting greedy.
  2. Is it the flop sweat?
  3. That could happen if the issue was getting serious. Unfortunately we have a serious talent deficit on defense until some guys get healthy, and younger guys get more experienced. This could be the game where Brady learns to add more wrinkles and approaches to the playbook when things aren’t going our way.
  4. I’d quit if I were in Cleveland too. You can only play in the factory of sadness for so long before it begins to affect you.
  5. I meant after the initial whiff and the play was already kind of broken. Allen drifts to his left to buy time. Dawkins had a chance to get a piece of Van Noy and just kind of doesn’t.
  6. That view from behind the LOS makes me understand why Allen thought he had more time to throw. He would have known Van Noy was back there, but he also would have seen Dawkins running back to get a piece of him. The only problem is Dawkins didn’t get a piece of him at all. What a poor effort there by him.
  7. Because we gave them a short field and it became a 3 score game again after the Ravens scored. The difference between a 3-4 point game and an 18 point game! Totally changes how you can call the offense and defense. Not to mention the Ravens seem to have a mental hang up with letting teams back into games that we probably would have triggered.
  8. This is supposed to be a “re-tool” year. If it was ever a season for on the job training it would be this one.
  9. I agree with your assessment that Allen was supposed to roll right. At the snap Dawkins and Kincaid run into each other, which allowed Van Noy through. I’m not going to pretend to know if that is Kincaid’s fault or Dawkins’ fault (or both). One of those guys screwed up though.
  10. I agree, if you look at the blockers they shoot out to the right on the snap. I kind of think that Allen was supposed to continue to the right but Van Noy came through untouched and killed it. If that were the case Allen should have just chucked it out of bounds or eaten it. But it was such a cluster I sort of get why he didn’t have much time to think about what to do.
  11. Well yea, these LBers stink. They aren’t even supposed to be on the field. It’s supposed to be Bernard and Milano.
  12. He’s a below replacement level player. Mostly due to his speed. Guy is as slow as molasses out there. I think the plan was the have Bishop start, but he got injured.
  13. Assuming Bass could make it, they only needed a FG on that drive to make it a one score game. We were already at midfield.
  14. The Bills linebackers that played in this game are big and slow. They are basically identical in size to the Jets LBers. Bills: Dorian Williams - 6’2” 230 lbs Baylon Spector - 6’2” 229 lbs Nicholas Morrow - 6’0” 215 lbs Jets: Jamien Sherwood - 6’2” 216 lbs CJ Mosley - 6’2” 231 lbs Quincy Williams - 5’11” 230 lbs
  15. It will be a division that could be won with a 9-8 record.
  16. No, they really aren’t. Spector and Williams are mid-round picks that are backups this year. They are only playing because of injury. Same with Cam Lewis. Hamlin and Rapp were backups last year and are only starting because our starters retired or left and we had no cap to replace them. They are the worst starting safety tandem in the league based on talent. Bishop is a rookie. Most second round rookies don’t start. Epenesa is a JAG and might be in the rotation for some teams, but not get the snap % he gets for us. We had to do that because Von Miller can only play on obvious passing downs and soaks up all of the cap. Bottom line is half this defense is actual backups, or “starters” that are forced to start because our cap is upside down.
  17. This seems delusional. We have a huge lack of talent on defense right now. Like 5-6 players on the field right now would not be starters for most teams in this league. Dorian Williams, Spector, Rapp, Hamlin, Cam Lewis, Cole Bishop, even maybe Epenesa. These guys are backup quality, and we shouldn’t be shocked when they have a hard time. The offense needs to make up for it. Things will hopefully improve when some players return and Bishop gets some game experience.
  18. Ravens had the 32nd ranked pass D going into this game. Minshew threw it all over them. I personally wouldn’t have waited until we were down 3 scores to start pushing the issue.
  19. On offense and defense in the first half they played very passive. No blitzing, no pressure, no throws down the field, Allen sliding short of the sticks. It was a philosophical choice, and a coaching fail. Hopefully a learning opportunity, especially if we face the Ravens in the playoffs.
  20. This is a fair point. He’s getting pretty heavy usage and he already has a lot of miles on him.
  21. The play was blown up because Dawkins whiffed on his block. Van Noy was a free rusher on the play and blew it up. Play wasn’t on Samuel at all.
  22. Typical Bills strategy vs Lamar is keep him in the pocket, lane discipline, force him to be a QB. Almost intentionally do not pressure him. It didn’t work because our LBers, safeties and slot corner are all backups and can’t cover for crap.
  23. He went the OC equivalent of “sugar high Josh”, feeling like he needed to get it all back in a big play when the Bills were driving just fine and had all of the momentum.
  24. 1. Henry was untouched on his long TD. Just terrible safety and linebacker play on that one. 2. Rapp, Hamlin, D. Williams, Spector and Cam Lewis were terrible. We already knew this…Bishop also got picked on for 1 TD I think. 3. Offensive game plan was bad. Play designs seemed to be either quick WR screens or deep shots when we were down. 4. WR and TE weren’t getting separation, and had a bunch of drops. Kincaid drops was killer at the beginning of the game to stall a drive. 5. That trick play was just dumb. Bills were driving to be down 4 (or maybe even down 3 if they went for 2). 6. Bass has got to go. We can’t have a kicker that misses 1 FG per game. We just can’t.
  25. Watching the replay of it, Dawkins is lined up inside and Kincaid is lined up outside of him. They switch spots after the snap and run into each other! This allows Van Noy to rush basically unblocked and interrupt the pitch. Samuel did a good job to try to half block him and half pitch the ball. Dawkins finally lumbers back there and lets Van Noy run right past him toward Allen for the strip sack! I’m not sure if he was afraid of blocking him back towards his own end zone which is a penalty, but do something dude! Dawkins killed this play.
