I half expect them to give it to Lamar and then zoom in on Allen with that 1000 yard stare like all the playoff games.

I’m not sure how other award shows are typically run, but everybody involved here definitely already know the results.
-
I love Allen, but he’s absolutely a flopper, he complains to the refs all the time, and he is the #1 trash talker in the league. How exactly did he win the sportsmanship award?
-
It is wild that Chase got the receiving triple crown (which happens less often than a 2k rushing yard RB) and was 3rd in voting for OPOY.
-
It is kind of wild that Hamlin won’t win a single comeback player award, but he got votes in 3 seasons.
-
co-MVP is basically impossible with the ranked choice voting they do now.
-
Betting odds have been correct in predicting the MVP at the end of the season 100% of the time historically. This will be the first time ever they were wrong. It’s kind of baffling really.
-
I think he has to get in. Doesn’t mean he has to get in first ballot though…
-
Betting closed everywhere when voting ended. Those are odds from when voting ended. Jackson is going to win. It is the first time the oddsmakers have gotten so wrong, so that is notable. Why were oddsmakers so wrong? Because the people voting totally changed the criteria they were using between last year and this year for reasons unknown.

Cooper Kupp leaving the Rams. Want him?
DapperCam replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Imagine if Allen was heaving it to Kupp instead of Kincaid. -
Don't feel too bad for Mavs fans, most of them are probably also Cowboys fans.

No more Sunday football until September

Sometimes the starters play a few series in the preseason in August and I usually watch the beginning of that game. -
Why no tush push on the Allen QB sneaks?
DapperCam replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think part of it is Hurts kind of rides the wave of his o-lineman getting the push. Allen seems to feel like he is the one who needs to break through the defense himself. -
I have to imagine Ty Johnson being better in pass protection is probably why he’s on for the 2 minute offense (which will be almost all passes). But there was plenty of time with the 2 minute warning and all 3 timeouts (and only needing a FG) to just run the normal offense. So if it’s true that they were in their 2 minute offense, then that is a coaching blunder in my eyes.

Well they drafted defensive tackle Jordan Davis 13th overall, and then drafted Jalen Carter 9th overall in the next draft. The last time the Bills picked in the top 20 picks of the draft was 6 years ago. Eagles had more down years recently to restock the cupboards. Bills are a victim of their own success.

Seems smaller in scale that Watson, but still pretty bad. I expect he’ll be cut, and that will be a wrap on his career.

Looking at these DBs, and then considering the fact that Benford missed the most of the game, it’s no wonder that our defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed.
-
Ha, that is their ranking out of all players at that position this season. So a low number would be better (they have Benford as 5th best CB in the league). It tells us that PFF felt like we had 2 starter quality players out of the 5 DB starting positions (6 in a dime package).
-
I would argue Taron Johnson is also an unquestioned starter for next year. Benford is an unquestioned starter for next year, but a big decision will be whether or not to extend him at top-10 CB money. Personally I’m iffy on that and might make him prove it another season. We could even franchise tag him the year after that.
-
I guess that’s what happens when you lose 3 All-Pros in their position in that span 😅
-
I’m not sure if anybody else has noticed, but our defensive backs other than Benford were pretty bad in 2024. I’m concerned that there aren’t really answers on the roster, draft or FA to plug the holes. I don’t fully believe in PFF grades, but gave them because they can give a rough idea where players rank relative to their peers. Safeties: Hamlin - Probably the definition of a replacement level player. He was in position usually, but really lacked athleticism. Free agent this summer. (PFF 107/170 safeties) Rapp - Just had an okay season. Notably got injured when we needed him and injured his teammates. (PFF 117/170 safeties). Bishop - Missed a lot of training camp and preseason. Looked rough out there in a few games. Couldn’t beat out Hamlin for a starting spot despite far superior athleticism. (PFF 150/170 safeties). Slot Corner: T. Johnson - Previously an All-Pro, but had a pretty mediocre season. Was getting burned a lot. I cut him some slack since Rapp broke his arm in the first game. (PFF 82/223 corners) C. Lewis - Replaced Johnson when he was hurt and was constantly picked on. Had a huge role in the first Ravens game beat down. (PFF 106/170 safeties) Boundary Corner: Benford - Probably the only DB that played well. Not a ball hawk, but solid in coverage. Got a little bit leakier at the end of the season (Rams game on). Historically he is injury-prone and just had back-to-back concussions. (PFF 5/223 corners) Douglas - Had a straight up bad year. Not sure if Father Time caught up to him. Free agent this summer. (PFF 132/223 corners) Elam - At this point a huge bust. Wasn’t even active most of the season. Might have lost us the KC game. (PFF 47/223 corners, note this is just regular season on a low snap count) Ingram - Only has stats in about half the games. Had an insane game vs the Dolphins, but seems like a bubble roster player (PFF 134/223 corners) Bills had a bottom-10 pass defense, which based on personnel here is probably overproducing based on the talent. So what is the front office going to do? Ideally we need to add a good safety and good boundary corner, along with better depth in case of injuries. Hamlin and Douglas will walk this summer IMO.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
DapperCam replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
42 wasn’t enough to beat the Rams, but 48 was enough to just beat the Lions. Let’s split the difference and call it 45 points to feel comfortable. Just be by far the most dominant offense of all time. That’s a totally reasonable expectation. -
Some big moves we could make: - Sign Chris Godwin as a FA. He'll be cheaper than Higgins because of the injury question mark. - Trade for Jeffery Simmons. Dude is a game wrecker. Not sure what the cost would be, two 2nd round picks this year? Our first round pick? - Sign Khalil Mack as a FA if he doesn't retire. He'll be ring chasing, and he's familiar with the area. He'll probably take a sweetheart deal because it isn't about the money at this point.
