Worthy has been okay, but I can't help but feel like this is kind of his ceiling. Gadget run plays, man-coverage beating crossers and the occasional deep chuck with him trying to beat the safety. He's never going to be like Hill, he's way lighter. He's not as well rounded as a player like DeVonta Smith (another undersized WR). I guess that's worth a late first? Rice to me is a much better WR on that team, unfortunate for the Chiefs that he blew up his knee (and can't stay out of trouble).

The worst part too is this approach keeps our offense off the field and encourages the other team to have long drives. How awesome was it getting one possession for the offense the entire first quarter this past weekend?

It's not silly if it's a trend. Baltimore's defense was bad for the first chunk of the season and then has been playing a lot better since then (for about half the season). The narrative shouldn't be that they have a bad defense, because they don't. They just shut out a playoff team on the road for crying out loud.

Ah I see, the exact stat is "Josh Allen recorded the lowest completion percentage (30.0%) in a game with at least 30 pass attempts in the last 30 seasons". Kind of cherry picked for what felt like just a regular bad game to me. A turnover or sack is much worse than an incompletion (as can be seen by Stroud letting us get back in that game with his turnovers). There are actually a bunch of players with a lower completion percentage, just less than 30 attempts. How was Allen historically awful against Houston? Was it his YPA or completion percentage or something? This was the "Mack Hollins #1 WR" game, and Allen still had 185 total yards, 1 TD, 0 turnovers and led 4 scoring drives. He played within himself when literally nothing was going right. Didn't end up being enough to win, but for another example Goff had a MUCH worse game vs the Texans than Allen did. For some perspective, if Allen got the same defensive performance Lamar got then the Bills would have won by three scores.

6 out of the past 7 games the Ravens defense has played excellent (the one outlier being that crazy Bengals shoot out). I haven't checked (mostly because I don't know how), but they must be a top 5 scoring defense in that time span. I think the "Ravens have a bad defense" narrative should be put away, it hasn't been true for almost 2 months.

Who will be Arthur Moats this Sunday? Former Packers greats don't have the best luck against us.

Not only did his defense pitch a shutout, his HOF RB ran for a buck fifty, including over 80 yards and a TD in the first quarter. That is playing the game on easy mode, and any game manager QB could win that game by multiple scores. I’m not saying Lamar is a game manager, but a game like that shouldn’t be some major bullet point on his MVP resume.

If Steelers win and Ravens lose next week then Steelers win the division. An interesting point is that the Ravens lost to the Browns earlier this season and the Steelers beat the Bengals already. So we want a repeat of those events.

Ravens/Texans, Christmas Day Game 2 (no Bills talk please)
DapperCam replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Several teams have slowed down the Ravens offense this year. It requires stopping the running game from the RBs. Henry had 78 yards and a TD in the first quarter yesterday! If you let that happen, you are going to 100% lose and it has nothing to do with Lamar. We saw it all the time with the Tannehill Titans. -
Meh, it’s going to be a cold rain game against a division opponent where we are only fighting for seeding. Might be a close, meh game.
-
We don’t need to imagine it. It happened last year. These discussions don’t happen in a vacuum.

Broncos, Ravens, Chiefs - Can the Bills run through this gauntlet.
DapperCam replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wild Card vs Denver: We should win this game easily. Lock has limitations and their defense has come back down to Earth. If we lose this game it would be a huge disappointment. Divisional vs Baltimore: I don’t think our defense can hold the Ravens to below 28 points, however I think our offense can score 30+ if our offense can figure out the Ravens disguised pressures. That absolutely killed us. Lamar plays a lot better at home vs the road. AFC Championship at KC: We’ve beaten them once. I think we match up well with them. My concern would be them running Pacheco all day and us not being able to stop it. Will be a one score game either way. Call it a coin flip. -
Bills had a very similar game against the Jags that the Ravens just had vs the Giants except Allen had 2 pass attempts in the entire second half of that game. Allen could have had 6 TDs that game without breaking a sweat. Maybe 7. Lamar had the mic on and it picked up his offensive coordinator asking if he wanted another TD. Getting him MVP and padding stats seems to be an organizational goal.

Ravens/Texans, Christmas Day Game 2 (no Bills talk please)
DapperCam replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think players care about 3rd vs 4th seed a lot less than we think. Sure, the coaches will have the starters out there trying to win, but some of these guys sure seem like they are just going through the motions waiting for the important games to start (or their trip to Cancun on non-playoff teams). -
Ravens/Texans, Christmas Day Game 2 (no Bills talk please)

I think a lot of these late season duds are teams basically having nothing to play for. What did the Texans really have to play for today? Pretty much nothing. -
Chiefs @ Steelers (no Bills talk in here please)

“High” isn’t a thing. Late is, but I don’t think it was late enough for roughing. He was basically within a stride after the ball was released. -

Why? He didn’t touch his helmet. Maybe he was a tick too late? -

Why is that roughing the passer exactly? He didn’t make contact with his helmet. -

Russell Wilson is ass. -

Yea it was a bad call for sure. He got in Watt’s facemask for a second but never tugged. Not much of a hold after that. -

They call holds on the interior of the line on a guard approximately never (unless you are playing against the Chiefs I guess). -

Thanks refs -
This supports my eye test of Lamar constantly tossing it to wide open players.

Would actually be really funny for Allen to win MVP, but not get All Pro or Pro Bowl.
