  1. Why did the Bills lose the first game so badly? Take a look at the defensive snap counts for that game:

    Spector 96%
Bishop 72% (rookie’s first NFL snaps)

    Cam Lewis 72%

    Carter 42%
    Morrow 28%

Lewis, Spector and Morrow in particular I remember getting abused.

Right and Terrell Bernard, who grew up in Texas, played at Baylor, never been in a walk-in freezer in his life, yada yada, is tasked with tackling Henry.

it is a tired conversation and so overblown.

I’m agreeing, I don’t think it will make much of a difference.

the cold helps Derrick Henry. hes a 260lb running back, he wants it to be cold so he's even harder to tackle

in general I think weather talk is overblown for this game

Are we sure it helps Henry? It hurts more to tackle, but it also hurts more to be tackled. Henry is from Florida, went to college in Alabama, and has never played for a pro team North of the Mason-Dixon line. In a long career he’s probably had less than 10 sub-freezing games.

You think he goes to the giants next year? Never thought of that, but I can see that as a bridge QB as they most likely draft one at pick 4

If teams decide Sanders is worth a top pick, then Ward and Sanders would probably go #1 and #2. That leaves the Giants free agent hunting.

In all fairness, Josh was running from left to right and threw the ball through  a sea of defenders to Knox who was running right to left.  Not an easy pass at all.

I think there was also an element of guessing whether or not Knox was going to keep running or stop. Allen threw it to where he would be if he stopped. Always a risk off script.

I feel homefield is much more important vs the Ravens than the Chiefs.  Reasons:

    1. Bills have proven multiple times during the regular season that they can win at Arrowhead and while their fans are great, Bills seem to relish that environment.  Also, would have won a playoff game there if not for that period of time which shall not be named.

    2. The Ravens feed off their home crowd and I feel that stadium with all of the darkness resembles a dark alley fight for which the Bills are not designed.

    3. I don't think Highmark has much impact on Mahomes..he is seemingly unflappable.  I do think the crowd and some mistakes can snowball on Lamar and my hope is that is what happens Sunday night.

Another reason: Lamar Jackson hates the cold. When it’s like 50 degrees he’s in a full ski mask. Forecast for next Sunday has a low of 12, and it’s a night game.

Bills players probably don’t love the cold, but they are used to it by now.

What big FA do we need?  We have turned over most of our roster and have a pile of draft picks to continue to restock.  We’ll have plenty of cap to keep Cook, Benford, Torrence and Benard.  Groot is a nice player, but not elite.  We have another year of Groot and then after that Beane will have to make a decision.  By that time big $ contracts for Milano, Miller, and Knox will be over.

We have no pass rush, we have no boundary WRs that can separate. That’s the top 2 most valuable positions behind QB (arguably LT is somewhere in there as well, but we’re set there). Also the most expensive to acquire.

To be blunt, it’s a stupid theory.  Don’t give ordinary RBs (Moss, Singletary) a second contract fine.  However elite players need to be retained.  Cook is one of the elite RBs in the NFL and a perfect fit for this offense.  He isn’t easily replaced.  If guys like Cook were so easy to find, we wouldn’t have had to wait six years between 1000 yard rushers and 30 years between elite ones.

But there is a salary cap. You can’t just sign everybody, you need to make decisions. Signing Cook to a $8-10m/yr contract could mean letting Benford, Bernard or Rousseau walk. Or it could mean passing on a big FA signing or trade we could have possibly made (like for an elite WR or pass rusher).

So then the question is about the impact on the game between Cook and a good but cheaper FA, or 2nd-3rd round pick. I think Cook has a home run ability that other RBs won’t have, but his between the tackles and red zone work can probably be had for a lot cheaper.

What game you watching….Packers offense has been dreadful outside of a few runs by Jacobs?

It’s a 9 point game and the Eagles got gifted 7 points. That is the majority of the difference in the game is it not? Both defenses have played well.

I honestly can’t believe the Cook haters have resurfaced after this week’s playoff game.  Friggin hilarious.

First things first.  He has one more year on his rookie deal.  That means he isn’t going anywhere.  Given our cap situation Beane may not extend him this coming off-season.

Cook continues to prove the haters wrong.  He is the top dawg in the backfield and Brady and Allen trust him in key situations.  Have the haters learned nothing?  They said he fumbles too much. Wrong!  They said he can’t run between the tackles.  Wrong!  They said he doesn’t score touchdowns.  Wrong!  They said he is easily replaced.  Wrong!

He is lightning fast.  Breaks tackles, is a huge weapon out of the backfield and is a threat to go to house with every touch.

Good luck replacing him.  Oh by the way Cook is only 6 months older than Davis and had less than half his college workload.  There is considerable tread left on this tire.

Why are we haters if we don’t believe in giving a RB a big second contract?

Really?  Baltimore and Philly would disagree.

I think Josh Allen would disagree as well.  Remember he’s had Singletary, Moss, Yeldon, Gore Sr,  Ivory, McCoy amongst other castoffs to tote the rock.  I suspect he wants Cook to be here long-term.

Henry was a huge acquisition for the Ravens. He let them improve from 13-4 last season to 12-5 this season. Hey wait…

  12. I like Cook a lot and think he’s talented, but I’m still hesitant to pay a RB. I’m reminded of DeMarco Murray crushing it with the Cowboys, winning OPOY.

The Cowboys didn’t pay him and let him walk the season after he won the rushing title and it was the right decision. That’s because his big year was more about the offensive line, and we also have a great offensive line.
